Nick, what a great property. Kind of sad selling your family home with all your history . I couldn’t do that. But I don’t know the circumstances that would make the family sell. I agreed with your ideas of how you would fix it up. So many possibilities with this place. The view was so beautiful. I was laughing listening to the woman out there. Reminded me of all our family get togeathers at my grandparents . Twenty five first cousins not counting our second cousins all the aunts and uncles friends everyone welcome and lots of loud animated Italian talking and laughing! Boy do I miss that so much. it's old fashioned charm is enjoyable to see :) a family's home for a long time and that homey feel is still intact. it has so much character just as it is and with only a few updates it could remain a very livable home with some business potential as an italian getaway as well. the countryside is lovely. quintessential italy!!!

This place is fantastic. I understand wanting to make updates and modernize things but honestly, this home is perfect just the way it is. I would live on the second floor and use the lower floor as an AirBnB so others could enjoy that stunning view too. 😊

Just noticed the incredible tile ceiling on the lower floor….we are visiting a sacred place
I would preserve this (not restore) by cleaning, polishing it up, protecting, and keep as much as possible. A little modernization, but not a lot. Beautiful place.

This is a pearl for someone who understands the cultural value and appreciates the feeling. If you look for Macchiaioli paintings (Tuscan artists from 1800) you will find glimples that look exactly the same!

One of the best yet, Nick. So many features to retain. Having recently purchased a property full of 1970's remodelling, I understand what you mean about the tiling and have learned to appreciate blue bathrooms and sunflower yellow kitchens :)

When you say 'cantina', do you mean a basement? A cantina in the US is a restaurant/bar. The first part of this video looked like a basement.

I live in the U.S. Tennessee, and if I had the finances, I would definitely enjoy a personal tour of this property. I do like the tours you give of different places, and as you walk through them, I imagine living in each one, and think about the pure bliss I would feel, listening to nature and taking in the beautiful views, and meeting the interesting people, in these areas. What a fabulous property and tour. Those cantine were dripping with history and offer so much potential. The granaries are awesome, and the views of the countryside ain't too shabby. I would explore modifying some of the rooms on the upper floors, while maintaining as much of the original character and history as possible. I was way off on the price. I thought it would be about 3x as much, considering the land and the location in Tuscany. I believe it's an absolute steal. Nick, the excitement and energy you display are as valuable as the property. Grazie!

Oh wow - an extreme typical Tuscan house, indeed. So many lovely details, especially the electricity installation of stunning beauty. This has not to be removed in any instance. Boths the vistas from the terraces and balcony are so stunning...
And the location nearby Monterchi and thus not so far from the (most underrated Tuscan city of) Arezzo is priceless. Thanks again for this rummage, Nick. Enjoy the forthcoming spring (which is way further than over here in DE!).

Nick, I love this place and your idea of the grain storage as a feature with lights 😍 I personally luv how just a peak of the frescoes is showing, I wouldn't change it, they have such amazing taste.
Another hidden gem of a property. I agree with the idea of the grain cellar, and that would be the focal point of the ground floor open plan living space (knock down as many walls as possible, and flood it with light). Agreed again, sandblast the beams, but keep them as original as possible. Make a small patio out back, and add in some terrace farming on the hill. Not too much to do upstairs, but turn that attic into a library/study/office. I know you said the roof is new, but knock some it out for an opening skylight? Does the ladder lead to a rooftop?
Please wait😁There are strict rules in Italy for restoration! Besides most walls are load-bearing in these houses and that would not be safe at all!

where in Colorado? We are in FL now but lived in Centennial for 15 years and Vail for a year before that. Many years ago. We've been in FL 9 years now and I miss the mountains!

Our first two kids were born when we lived there and one of my oldest and dearest friends was our neighbor in Parker! Many good memories from the four years Severance Drive! 😊 I also noted your name and smiled - one of our best friends in Denver was Dave Pellegrin - very similar! Have a great holiday weekend - maybe we will all meet up in Italy if I can make this dream come full circle one day! Both my husband and I have lineage in Italy, ironic that our grandparents came here for a better life (more opportunity) and we want to go back for the simpler happiness!

May I add for anyone interested that Monterchi is just over the border between Tuscany and Umbria? And so, for example, mere 20 minutes from Città di Castello, the northernmost Umbrian town, from which it's also very easy to get to Marche and Emilia Romagna regions.

As an amateur travel photographer I’m curious though. Given how pin sharp all of your videos are and the way your camera adjusts for the changes in light, what camera do you use? I understand, however, that the real “It” factor relative to your camera work is your mastery of perspective, light, photography, videography and more. Thanks for sharing these fantastic properties.

Nick, beautiful properties, but could you do some modernist designed properties. I know there are many in Italy as it was a hot bed of mid century modern design ’30’s through ’60’s. All the properties you show are pretty same same with the wood beams and terracotta. you know?

I like that the electrical wires are exposed, less expensive to upgrade and I'm sure that it could look nice somehow.
There is so much space here! I'd do an apartment in the cantina, then renovate the rest of the home to be a single family dwelling.
So special that there is land and a stream!
My only concern would be staying friends with the neighbors, as renovations will be noisy and might take a long time.

I've so had it with England as clever scientist in Exeter university have made geoengineering fuels to make 90% more all-day grey cloud cover for the Brits. Very sad times as all we get is bad weather. Airlines modified aviation fuels to make sure sun doesn't come out in England. Can I migrate at over 54?
