Your OG auto chicken farms have been a staple for all my survival worlds TY for being an icon in the Bedrock community :D
FYI, to get raw instead of cooked chicken for trading, just swap out the lava with powdered snow.
Also worked for me by swapping the bucket of lava with a bucket of water and then removing the empty bucket before the water gets picked up again. :)
I love this sort of design. I did find a small improvement for my world, though; once you can get a medium-sized Amethyst Bud (silk touch it from a budding amethyst block), you can put that on the baby chicken landing/hatching location instead of the lower slab, and you'll lose significantly fewer drops to the lava, since it's marginally shorter, but still tall enough to let the lava do its work.
Couldn’t you just use a trapdoor instead of the slab?

A large amethyst stone before it is fully grown can have a similar effect. Thanks to this, we are running a very successful chicken farm with minimal losses. Thank you for telling us how to fix the error where chickens die when using half blocks.

It's a bug that makes this design unreliable on bedrock, better make it semi-automatic and use dispenser with a lever for lava bucket

Pro tip for collecting chickens: make an automatic egg collector and automatic throwing so the population just grow faster and faster
Thx JC, found way for your farm to work exactly same way just without observers by making clock from 1 repeater + 1 red torch + leaver, 1 block behind(before/back/side) dispenser and in front of dispenser 2 red stones. So no need for obsv and still work like charm :)

Last time, I did a version of a semi-automatic chicken farm, I had set it up when it would collect, funnel, and dispense eggs back into the main chamber. (basically, "throwing" them for me, against a wall)
I would kill the chickens via a trap door so I could collect (and trade) raw chicken.
Also, I'm a bit of an amateur with Redstone, so it was a bit sloppy & I had to turn it on & off from time to time. (To manually collect the chicken & feathers, as well as to occasionally reset/ restart the Redstone cycle.)

You have to replace the trap doors for a solid block (i.e. glass). I am on 1.21 pc. Had the same problem till I changed it.

I personally hate observerclocks because the sound annoys me if the farm is too close to my base and the foodcooker has to be close. Otherwise a decent updated farm! The size is neat.
I have a problem where one baby chicken becomes an adult, and then burns, but then all the baby chickens burn as well. What do I do?

The block above the dispenser needs to be a full(fullsized) solid block.

It works for me. If I want to expand the space for the chickens, do I have to create more observers?
Just make a circuit from that redstone clock to all the dispensers.
You could invert a dispenser and put a hopper and a couple chickens on top and then a lever or redstone clock then fire them eggs down
Idk you guys but on my 1.21 world when the egg the shooted by the dropper, it hits the baby chicken and so he dies because he jumps into the lava. How can I fix it?
Is anyone have my problem? First the chicken seem to escape the farm every once in awhile. 2 the farm keeps producing feathers but after a bit it stops producing cooked chicken

I did everything step by step and absolutely cannot get this to work whatsoever I don't believe it still works
If you have to many chickens and over load the kill chamber theyll glicth out the gass so make sure you dont have to many chickens

Day 20 of asking Jc plays to make a glow squid farm
I used his iron farm and made a iron farm plus squid farm for me when I placed my in a cave I have 2 in one I just replaced bottom blocks above the water for Magma Blocks so when they hit the bottom they die I get so many glow link sacs plus iron all at once
Basically infinity emeralds now.
Dang build an iron farm a lot more emeralds in the long run. Combine that with a zombification/curing station for villagers and you will swim in them

The same thing is happening to me as well. Even with no lava out. It seems they come out of the dispenser too fast or are hitting the hit box of the hopper and breaking

This doesnt work!!!!!! HELP!!!!! When the egg shoots out, it always hits the baby chickens under the lava, causing them to hit the lava and die. The farm is set up correctly. So annoyeeddddd

Which Farm is important, for food item and lil xp. I have all 4 (cow sheep pig chicken) standard fence farm 20x20 blocks each. But when I m go there is lagging, i play on ps. A friend says I must kill all them but I need and love them 😢
Make sure the cow farm is for the right edition (e.g. Bedrock not Java). I tried a cow crusher from a Java video. Besides not working in Bedrock, the performance was terribly slow due to the number of cows in the farm. You may need to spread your farms farther apart.

You can make a different redstone clock. It will take up more space, but place a comparator against the hopper and drag a redstone line to a redstone clock (See his previous vids for redstone clocks). The comparator will only put out a signal when something is in the hopper, so it should only fire when the hopper contains eggs.
Thats what I'm gonna do atleast because I also hate the constant clicking sound ;)
Is there a way to make it manual farm? I want to kill the chickens with looting three, since steak is a better food source and raw chicken can also be traded for emeralds

I did, acrually. For some reason, when I changed the trapdors closest to the slab and dispenser for glass blocks, it never happened again. I even tested on creative, and the problem were really the trapdoors
