Just subscribed to your channel! Needless to say I love your art, but I truly find your videos extremely relaxing. Love your explanations, the music, the time lapses. Love it all! 💜
This is so inspiring to me, I don’t have much space so seeing you create such beautiful and varied pieces on small pieces of paper and with a limited starting palette is just wonderful. I’m saving the next few episodes in this series for when i really need cheering up 😅
Thanks so much Kate! I’m so happy that it’s inspiring you. I know how restrictive it can feel when you don’t have a lot of space to create, but even if you do, setting yourself some restrictions is actually so useful
Thank uou for sharing your process , beautiful work and interesting evaluations. I have enjoyed lots of your videos and look forward to seeing how you make progress with these pieces.
Jeannine!!!! Argh..... These are stunning. I have a gelli plate and I would LOVE to create pieces like these. Thank you for sharing these with us. I have to try this kind of style on my plate. Oh, and if course get all the pencils needed. 😏

Absolutely fascinating process to watch. As a predominantly watercolour artist, I'd never thought of using watercolours over acrylics this way. I have all of the art supplies (except the Gelplate (running straight out to get one!), so I'm keen to give it a go. I also love the palette you chose. Some really beautiful contrasts happening. Thank you - from Australia x
Thank you so much! If you are interested in using a gel plate, there are also recipes to make your own online if you are feeling crafty. I made one before, but it's quite a bit of effort. Eventually it started smelling funny, so I bought one 😄 Happy exploring!
Thanks! I use the Cass Art Jumbo Gummed Watercolour Pad A3. I believe it's only available here in the UK. Hello! I can get two paint colours to blend with the roller better on the gelli plate than with the roller directly on the canvas. Painting on the gelli plate first also means I don't know exactly where that mark will end up on the painting. I like that this creates more "accidental" marks that I would not have done intentionally.
Sorry for technical question, but how do you price these small pieces? I ask because I also got quite large collection of small paintings on paper and I'm not sure how to price them since they're small and material is fragile, but the picture that is on them is worth a million to me :) p. s. As always - adore your color palette. tried abstract technique - so much harder than I thought.
Thank you! Pricing is such a difficult topic. The easiest way is to research what similar artists (style and experience level) charge. I price mine by linear dimensions rather than square dimension. By that I mean I add up the width and height of the piece (for example 10 and 15 cm =25). Then I use a multiplier to get the price. This size I have priced at £50 in the past. Here is an article explaining it a bit better allthingsencaustic.com/artwork-pricing/#:~:text=Many%20artists%20use%20a%20square,the%20total%20by%20the%20rate.&text=Calculate%20the%20linear%20inch%20by,the%20total%20by%20the%20rate. Hope this helps!
@@jclosestudio Thank you for answer! I've understood that, first - I have to learn how to let them go and second - that I have to price them reasonably.

Love these! Very inspiring!🌿
Thanks so much!
Can you explain the purpose of the gelli plate? I don't understand why you don't paint directly onto your canvas. Thank you!
