How long is this formula's shelf time compared to your previous matte lipstick formula? I've been thinking to learn about making makeup myself but currently there's very little information about homemade beauty in my country (or maybe I just don't know where to look), so thank you very much! ❤

Gwendolyn Batts hi Gwendolyn thank you for watching some dyes, pigments and oxides are not hypoallergenic. I would definitely research google to see which are. Most of the dyes on tkb are derived from vegetables. They also have a chart which tells you of the ones that are vegan, eye and lip safe I hope this helps💕

Yes! You’re absolutely right ❤️I too learned that later down the line. So an ideal time to add it is after your base has cooled (when it looks cloudy but it’s still in its liquid form) add the vitamin e as well as the preservative cap 2. I like to add a 1/2 tsp of both per 16 oz.

When using lip liquid concentrates, the lipstick has a color to it but one applied to lips it simply looks clear with a hint of color. How would I make it more pigmented?
Hi, I seen you comment and own my own lipstick line so I thought i’d give advice. When making lipstick if you just apply enough pigment it should show. So even if you have a specific ratio you use when placing in pigment certain colors you’d have to add more. So I’d try adding more color first. Also be careful on how much oil you use I’ve find that too much oil will water down your color. Hope this helps❤️

I also thought about how you described it and felt about it. I was also thinking Berry Beautiful because I think the color is beautiful and the maker of the color is too! 💜
I noticed in your videos sometimes you use powder colors and sometimes you use liquid concentrate. I am mostly interested in the bullet lipsticks so which is better ? And why do you choose one over another sometimes? I am new at this but love it.
They both can be used, however I would use the LCs in a bullet with more of a satin finish since they are usually oil based. The powder pigments can be used in both satins and I especially like to use them in the matte bullets as the help absorb the oils and they give an amazing color payoff. I like to show different ways of creating lipsticks to highlight ingredient options that are available. You also have to option of combining both together depending on what you’re trying to achieve.

Did using certain colors make your consistency clumpy? Like for my gloss blue & red always is so clumpy & doesn’t mix well for me. Maybe it’s my mixing utensil idk but have you had this problem before?

This is absolutely a beaYOUtiful color. If you didn't put the isododecane in at end would it be more glossy bc sometimes the matte can be too drying

It wouldn't make it vegan friendly. These are more natural and some people are allergic to bees. But you can use beeswax if you want
