Color/Pigments- When choosing any color additive when making your lipsticks with the intent to sell, all of your color additives (pigments, micas, lakes etc) must all be batch certified! I know in my video I mentioned purchasing from tkb, you still can but they sell their batch certified lakes only in larger quantities. I found an affordable company that sells Batch Certified color additives in smaller quantities and also at a more affordable rate! Here is their website:

Your Beautiful inside & out!! I started selling low end lipsticks about 3years ago. I started to read the ingredients🤦🏾♀️ I had some concerns . So I started to make some. It grew old , cause I felt like I didn’t come up with a proper (recipe) video until now... Thank you so much ! I just received my kit from Tkb and I was getting frustrated (again) until now 🥰 Blessings
To everyone who wants to start a cosmetic line/ beauty business, here are some tips and strategies. 1) You need a formula for your product. You can hire a chemist to develop one for you or work with a contract manufacturer. 2) Formula must undergo stability testing to avoid what happened to Jaclyn hill lipsticks...3) Once formula has been approved and stability verified, it's time to start production. You can use any contract manufacturer. Usually they require at least 2,000 units so it can be quite a big investment. You NEED to make sure your products will sell which basically means you must offer something competitors don't.It doesn't hurt to have a charismatic personality like Ari J. or Jeffree Star. 4) It is perfectly legal to produce cosmetics at home according to FDA regulations; this allows people with no much money to start small. You can also save money on formulation if you know what you're doing meaning you can create your own without hiring a chemist.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful comment. In light of the Jaclyn Hill situation, sterilization and testing for stability wether it be through a chemist, manufacturers, or in your own observations (making your own cosmetics) it is so key and very important. I literally watched the behavior of the lipsticks I created over a years time just to make sure the foundation was solid. Making your own cosmetics requires a great deal of responsibility, energy and patience, but the purpose of my channel is to show you how POSSIBLE it is. I truly believe that number 1 over anything is to believe in yourself as it all starts there. Stay positive (don’t be so hard on yourself as you are learning, and you will develop better techniques over time) and Have fun! Yes it’s serious but don’t forget that it was love that drawn you to it in the first place so maintain balance to keep your interest sparked and to prevent burn out. Rock it out be you and allow that to be your inspiration and a reflection in your own line💕💄💕💄 #lipstickgang #cosmeticcreators #creativegeniuses 😍

How do you do satin, silk lipsticks and glosses? Especially glosses. I just came across your channel. I am surprised you did upload your formula. It was a pleasant reminder of when I use to experiment to make organic lipsticks for fun and wear, the abts would always eat the lipsticks maybe too much shea and cocoa butter was the result.

Thanks so much for your support 🥰No it’s is absolutely legal to start a cosmetic company from home. The only things that have to be fda approved are your color additives. When shopping for color additives just make sure that on the website it says they are fda approved in the US

You will need 1/8 teaspoon per 8 oz of preservative cap 2 tkbtrading.com carries it

Thank you for you love all the way from the Netherlands. With the preservative added the base can last up to 18 months covered in an air tight container. A bpa free plastic jar or a sealed preserve jar (sealed mason jar is great)

Does your lipstick base have a scent? Could we add our own fragrance oils to them before putting them in tubes? I would feel really bad using your recipe and starting my own little business while profiting from it...it would be 100% okay to use your lipstick base/recipe to sell and make products out of?
Absolutely fine it’s my intention for you to use it to make your products! Please don’t feel bad if you look in a lot of the ingredients of your favorite lipsticks you will find that they are quite similar! I wish you much success💕

Hey Prettie Ladie ❤️☺️ I hope this finds you well too❤️ yes you’re absolutely right here’s a recipe for a bigger batch for 16 oz of base that will give you the consistency that you’re looking for
Base Recipe (Liquid Lipstick)
2 tsp Carnauba wax
2 tsp of Candelilla wax
8 tbs of Castor oil
4 tbs of sweet almond oil
4 tbs of coconut oil
4 tbs of avocado oil
1 tsp of isododecane
1/8 tsp of preservative cap 2

I would definitely be purchasing your lipstick base. Is it only in matte? And is it only for liquid lipstick. I would like to make regular tubbed lipstick.
Hope Thank you ☺️ the lipstick base isn’t matte it gives like a satin finish. Adding the isododecane remix is what makes it matte💕

I hope I’m not being rude here, but if you get the base, or make it yourself - and it doesn’t end up hard enough to BE the tubbed lipstick you want... you just need to add a hard wax.
I really have only worked with beeswax - which isn’t vegan. But I also know caranuba (?) wax is a hard wax (not as hard as beeswax), and would work great to... both are very nourishing to your body (clearly in this case your lips).

Is your lipstick eyesafe ?
Moss_Queen_ hey love 💕 the greens and the blue shades are eye safe, however the red, pinks, and dark purples are not. Baltimore and Florence is also eye safe! I hope this helps☺️
