  • In this video, I review one of the highest-end Bibles that I have featured on this channel. The Schuyler Quentel Credo, is an ESV, large print edition, with goatskin cover, top of the line paper, and the historic creeds and confessions of the Christian faith.

    I’m the nerd who has been waiting for a long time for you to review a Schuyler Quentel! Great review! Thank you Pastor Matt.

    Matthew, I have the Schuyler Quentel ESV in fire-brick-red goatskin leather. Beautiful beyond words. But I want to get the ESV Credo because I would like to have those creeds conveniently tucked away in this Bible. Also, I am far-sighted and I can vouch that this rather large font is terrific! Long story short: I plan to buy this Bible as soon as I can. I'm a retired pastor and have so much time now to read and study to my heart's content. Keep up the great work. Love your videos!

    I have been looking at this bible for some time and do have an ESV study I had rebound, but I believe this is an investment in my spiritual life that I cannot pass up. Your point about it being less than the device I watched the review on really spoke to me continue the good work as we labor for our Lord. Thanks again.

      I agree with your comment about it being an investment in your spiritual life that you cannot pass up! I enjoy these reviews & have been trying to narrow it to one (for now at least). It’s on my birthday wishlist!

    Thank you for another good review. I’m a Catholic, and use primarily Catholic bibles, but have a number of others as well. Love your reviews. You have a beautiful voice, and always give so much good info. Good luck in your new church and home.

    I've purchased 2 Schuylers. The ESV quentel and the NASB thintel. Both amazing beautiful bibles. They are expensive but can easily become long term family heirlooms. If you can afford it and desire bible that can last a lifetime you cant go wrong with one of these bibles. Great review keep up the good work.

    I just received my Schuyler Caxton NLT and am so pleased to own such a beautifully crafted premium bible. When you consider how much you will be reading your scriptures over the years, it really isn't as large an expense as I initially thought. Look at what mobile phones cost.

    VERY impressive. I love that this special Bible bears the name Credo. As a Catholic, with ties to the Presbyterian Church (Mom was a secretary in a Presbyterian church git 13 years, snd our chi were baptized there), and thd Lutheran Churvh, creeds are important to me. Thry form thd framework
    of our Christian faith. I especially value repeating those faith affirming words .during a baptism.

    Excellent review as usually. A better buy than the Reformation Heritage Study Bible in Goat skin, only because they did not sell quickly and spending a few years in a warehouse that was not air conditioned caused some problems.
    I think it's great that Augsburg Confession is included in this bible you reviewed. I personally like the Heidelberg Catechism better than the Westminster Shorter Catechism, but otherwise this is a great selection of Creeds, Catechisms, and Confessions.
    I personally spend as much time in the Creeds, Confessions, and Catechisms looking up references as I do reading psalms and daily readings. If I hadn't purchased the Reformation Heritage Goatskin this year, I'd seriously consider this bible.

    I'll never understand people who say $200 is too much for a bible when they have an iPhone in their pocket. A well built bible is worth investing in and will last way longer than any smartphone or piece of technology that people will spend way more on while saying a $200 bible is too expensive.

    Beautiful bible. I love having confessions and creeds bound with a bible, but this selection seems odd to me. I wonder why it didn't include the three forms of unity, or the scriptural proofs?

    Thanks so much for this review, Matthew. LOL at your comment about "bland evangelical"... it's a problem since the beginning! I can only budget for one premium Bible (the one that rules them all, haha). I'm currently using a 12 pt font Crossway large print ESV so only Schuyler will do with their 11 pt font - I'm agonising between a full yapp Schuyler ESV Quentel Black Credo (the inclusion of creeds is awesome) vs a full yapp Schuyler ESV Quentel Imperial Blue (the blue under silver is the coolest version of all Schuylers)... what do you think of having creeds vs not having creeds? I can always get a separate book of Creeds to complement my Imperial Blue Schuyler... what is your advice? Thanks!

    I'm always interested in if the Books of the Bible start on its on page, how detailed is the concordance, how many maps are in the bible, is it red letter edition, and what charts if any do we have. Very nice bible. I do like the red accents for the chapter header.

    Hey Brother, has this bible been updated since this review? The paper is shown to be 28 GSM and the bible thickness is only 1.1" according to their website. Can you confirm this to be true with yours?

    i purchased the new Credo NKJV and must admit the 28 GSM is lacking. I'm not the biggest fan of the print and believe the text is actually better in the Thomas Nelson Goatskin Premium series. The goatskin and stitching is nice is it worth the extra $100 over the Thomas Goatskin?

  • @Yesica1993
    @Yesica1993 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I just want an ESV that is affordable, thinline, maybe reference (not study), and has a clear font. Maybe 9 point, as 8 is becoming difficult for my aging eyeballs. I actually thought my eyes were getting markedly worse. But I keep hearing that many Bibles are blurry these days. Is it the thin paper? I don't know. All I know is I am having a hard time finding one that is not GIANT print, but that is thin, and clear. I've looked at the bargain thinline Bibles and they make my eyes hurt even though the font says it's bigger than even my compact, 8 point Bible. It makes no sense!

    • @RoastBeefSandwich
      @RoastBeefSandwich 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thinline means thin paper, it is going to show through more. Modern digital printing means the actual impression of the ink on the page is sharper than ever. If you want a Bible with opaque paper, you will either have to pay more for one printed on premium thin paper or get a less expensive model that is not a Thinline in my experience.

    • @kingofsalem1225
