    Great information! A couple of years ago I had great success with one variety of tulip (out of 10) but lots of daffodils, so the following year I did more daffodils... none of them bloomed 😬looking back I think I put them in way too late... but you have made me really want to try both again and change up how I do it. I'm just starting out on my growing for profit journey, and I'm working to be more nursery and sell cut flowers on the side along with my seed grown/cuttings plant options and live a few cities away from you. I highly value all you teach and share!! Thank you!

    Thanks for this awesome info! Do you put any newspaper down in the crate before adding the soil? Also which kind of promix do you like to use?

    I'm in SoCal Zone 9b/10a. Thanksgiving seems to be the time to get cool flowers planted. I vacillate on whether to attempt tulips. ROI is low and The Tulip Workshop/forcing worsens that ROI. I'm going to try ranunculus in crates this year. If that goes well, maybe I'll try tulips in a year or two.

      @floweringevergreen3584 Thanksgiving is when I plant my other bulbs and corms for sure, and I've definitely done some tulips by then. With all of these you definitely have to weigh the ROI vs your costs to make sure it's profitable. I tried ranunculus in crates and they hated it, but let me know if you have success!

    When would you say it’s the best
    Time to plant them here in Texas? Late November or early December? I’m still quite new at growing them but I seem to get really short stems unfortunately .

    • @summerskyegardens
      @summerskyegardens  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @barbaradelgadogutierrez4988 yes Nov or Dec is best. Maybe early Jan but that's even pushing it. Short stems are usually due to variety, not enough water, or temps warming up too quickly

    You mentioned that you had to take in your tulips when it got too warm…. What was that temperature?

    • @summerskyegardens
      @summerskyegardens  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @hollyjones9264 we'll get temps that creep into the 60s/70s here and there come Feb, so when that starts to happen I move them to the shade. They are most happy in the 40s/50s
