Hey everyone! Here is a quick link for the Jackson's Schmincke Christmas Edition 2022 palette: www.jacksonsart.com/en-us/schmincke-horadam-watercolour-paint-metal-set-12-half-pans-jackson-s-edition?___store=jacksonsart_us&acc=fe131d7f5a6b38b23cc967316c13dae2 💗
Holy. Smokes. That Schmincke colorful box is stunning! You are adorable! I’m totally living vicariously. I did get a small Jackson’s haul but held myself in check this year! I loved hearing your sweet excitement in your voice. Awesome haul, girl!🎉❤👏👍🤗
Thank you, Maggie!! It really is, I'm going to set it up as a Christmas palette. They are having such great sales. I am only getting unique colors or palettes from now on, so this fit. Lol Aw, thanks!! I feel a bit silly but it is just so fun! I can't wait to see what you picked out! 💗
If you want to know if a paint is light-fast, just look at the back of the tube to see what pigment is used. In this case, both the Magenta and Violet here are made with a florescent dye listed as BV15. Not actually a pigment. Like all fluorescent dyes, BV15 is not considered permanent. Loved the video! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Renee! Yes, I just didn't have a chance to double check while filming. I just wanted to mention it to warn others, so they wouldn't be disappointed. I thought I remembered reading it, but I bought my old set in 2018. ;D Thanks so much for the comment, it really helps as lots of people read the comments! Thanks so much!! 💗
I literally gasped when I saw this new Schmincke palette! I have two of the other Christmas editions sets that I bought purely for the box. I think I'm going to have to order this one.
‘It’s the best time of the year….’ You’re so excited and it’s contagious… so am I! I’m waiting for the Jane Blundell Roman Szmal set. I looked a few days ago on Jackson’s and it was out of stock. I’ll wait until they have it. 🥳
Thank you!!! It is so fun... Oh, I love that set and I'm glad I waited for the right color selection for me. Just wait a bit...it will be back in stock and on sale again sometime soon! :D
Haha, I think so...or maybe I filmed it and it never got published? Lol I know I shared it as my favorite one month, and the swatches and artwork. It is an amazing palette with such great colors for mixing, yet pretty convenience colors. A bit of the best of both worlds to me. Plus, I loved supporting Jane Blundell. 💗
Sorry, I’m not quite awake still drinking coffee and not a morning person…I typed birthday instead of Christmas regarding your daughter’s gift. I hope people understand that your daughter doesn’t mind ONE LITTLE bit that you opened the cellophane, etc so you could share with us!!! I gift my extra colors also. It’s about the palettes as much as anything for people like us!!! You use your paints in every one you buy. I’m not as good as you….lol If you love Schminke like we do it’s SO exciting to get those pallets. The prices are too good to pass on. I had to watch it twice because I loved how happy you are seeing these. I’m with you!! I’m buying Schminke now. If it drops I’ll buy another one. Now THAT is crazy! I’ve always regretted that I didn’t buy another 2018. I use that palette and would like to have put one away. That’s how much I love them!! Sorry I had to write you twice.
Thanks, Nancy!! Haha, me either...I need three cups of coffee first! No worries. No, she will not mind at all...I've actually decided to give her my old box instead. She is not a perfectionist like I am, thankfully! She will enjoy it more not worrying about ruining it and enjoy all 24 colors. She is very grateful for any new art supplies. I expect her to use this more for storage, and her metal tin to paint in. But, she will find what works for her. Yes, you are so right! I'm already plotting how to change my colors in this beautiful palette! Yes, I do use all of my beautiful supplies, but as long as you love them...they are your supplies to enjoy how you ever you!! YES, I love it sooo much!! I'm so happy to have friends like you to share with, that love it so much! Sssshhh, I will be getting another palette if the price drops as well! I can save it and gift it to my daughter one day or something. Though, I think I need to not give her too much. I want to to struggle a bit to get want she wants...to make sure she will appreciates and takes care of everything. Aw, you are so sweet! I felt ridiculous listening to myself when I edited. I was just so excited, and only you guys will understand my excitement!?!? I'm still missing a few of the colorful Schmincke palettes. I would love to have them, but not enough to pay over retail. Lol Please never apologize for more comments, I so enjoy reading them! You are my people, and make me feel less silly getting so excited for paints! ;D 💗
Thank you for sharing with everyone so quickly! Your daughter is going to love her birthday gift!!! You are right! It’s ALL about the JOY we get EVERY time we just LOOK AT our favorite supplies…which are all of my watercolors….lol. It really does bring me joy every time I just look at these pretty things. I’m sure some people can’t understand it exciting as getting diamonds and lasts longer. You know I’m a sucker for pretty packaging also. The palette on the Schminke set is currently in a tie with the 2018 set for my favorites! I paid lot for the 2018 because I wasn’t watching TH-cam until later. I’ve never regretted a penny of the money! It’s still makes me happy. I just wish I’d have bought 2…lol Love all your purchases.
You are welcome, Nancy!! I couldn't wait to share! Hopefully seeing them will help people know if they would like them or not. Yes, they do bring me a lot of joy!! I'm so very glad to share with you, as I know you feel the same. Most people I know would rather have shoes or jewelry. It's great we are all different, and can find what brings us joy! Ha, this one is close to me...But, I love the 2018 palette so much I wish I had another one. I do love this one, as well though! I would have done the same, but luckily that palette was sold at Wet Paint. It's still one of my most favorite purchases ever. Lol...ok same!!! One of these days I'm going to try making my own pretty palettes, so they won't get to me so much! ;D Thanks so much for letting me share with you! 💗
Hi Jen! Hope you enjoy it!! Thank you! I think you will enjoy it for years to come. This is the first set that is almost as pretty as the Wet Paint set I have, as well. Enjoy you new set and have fun combining them! 💗
This makes me want to buy, buy, buy! 😂 I would love that beautiful palette, but definitely don't need it, lol. What a great deal on the Holbein gouache. Filling my little silicone-lidded palette used up every bit of my tubes except for the light green. I'd better pull that out and start using them up before they dry out. Yikes. I knew filling that palette would stress me out a little. Oh well! Love art hauls - thanks for sharing yours!
Oh no, I'm sorry! Yes, it took me a long time to figure out how to use credit card rewards, etc to get most of my wants. That's the only way I can splurge so much, without guilt sadly. I wanted the palette more than the paints for sure!! It also made it easier for me to treat myself, knowing I will be gifting most of the colors. It is so pretty and I'm so glad I was able to get it! I did the same with my gouache! That's why my tubes are almost empty. Lol Thanks for sharing, I'm glad I am not the only one! It does the same thing to me...I feel almost like it's a ticking time bomb palette now! But, I'm hard on myself because I never want to waste a drop of paint. ;D Thanks so much for letting me share with you!! 💗
Your enthusiasm is just SO elevating, I love it 🙂 Sure, you spend tremendous amounts on art supplies but the light heartedness you have with it just makes me smile. And yes, you are right, me too I do not spend money on clothes or shoes or make up or hairdressers and we never eat out, so yeah...I don't spend that much on art supplies but if I do, I don't feel bad about it. My husband is also very supportive with that. I left a sub on your channel and I hope to hear your happy voice many times! Love from across the pond!
Oh, thank you so much!! Yes, I do purchase a lot of supplies. I fell in love with art supplies a few years ago. I agree 100%! I just use credit card rewards or sell things I no longer want to boost my art budget... and don't splurge on other things much either. I'm so happy to hear you have a supportive husband! Thanks so much for joining me! I love making new art friends and the comments and friends are why I keep sharing! 💗
@@TheGypsyChic1 you know I looked into what credit card rewards are when you mentioned it and such a thing sandly does not exist for my credit card...I too sell things I don't use anymore to get money for art supplies.
Yes, you have to play the credit card reward game to get them. You actually get the most when you open a new card. But, they always have new offerings, as well as fine print. Selling things you no longer use is the best way for sure! ;D
I blew my budget on the ultimate mixing set so cannot have this set, and now have palette envy! I have missed every one of this size of palette for three years running! Never mind my ultimate palette arrived today and I am going to enjoy filling it. The moment I saw this one I knew you would want it! I really do think this is a collectors one, it’s less about the contents and more about the gorgeous container.
Oh, I'm sorry! I always save some credit card rewards just for Black Friday sales. You might check back the day after Thanksgiving, it might be even less. Hopefully this palette stays around awhile so you can get it later! I've also had some luck getting older palettes on Amazon Germany, once the hype is over. ;) Lol, you know me well!! ;D I think you are right about this palette being more of a collector set, for sure! Your Ultimate Mixing Palette is also interesting palette, with more interesting colors. I hope it makes you very happy filling it and changing it to meet your needs. That is the fun part to me! I'm going to use your idea of adding metallics to my Christmas palette! Thank you again for sharing with me! 💗
I love your hauls so much=3 Having a few cute purchases already delivered, but I save them up for later=3 It will be a surprise for me because I'll forget what I've orderedXD
Thank you!! Thank you so much for letting me share with you! That is so fun, and you essentially get a gift twice! That is how I feel when I order with tracked shipping. Three weeks late, I've almost forgot what fun products I've ordered. ;D I hope you love all of you purchases when you open them! 💗
I live in Gloucestershire, England and Jacksons is my local art shop, it's an absolute nightmare for your bank account 😂, I'm on first name terms with the staff 😂.
Ohhh how exciting so many pretty things to play with. Great present ideas. I’m waiting on my delivery and I can’t wait. Hope you enjoy your new stash 😀
Thank you so much, Tully!! Thank you! Oh, I'm so happy for you! You will have to tell me which item is your favorite! I hope you enjoy your gifts, as well! 💗
Hahaha, my dear! This was fast! I'm still waiting for my purchases! This year, the black friday sales are fantastic! I'm happy you got what you wanted :D Enjoy!
Haha, I'm still so thankful you thought of telling me about the Christmas palette! I hope you heard me mention you! I was about to order from the shop you sent me, when the Jackson's email came! Lol I hope you enjoy your new purchases immensely!!! Yes, there are great sales this year. I'm guessing they will have even more sales...but who knows?!? Thank you!! I hope you got everything you wanted too! 💗
@@TheGypsyChic1 Hey! No, I did not yet! OMG that's such a good deal! Thanks for telling!! I'm struggling with myself now hahahaha! I was thinking on trying some of the new Michael Harding watercolours as well, but maybe I should wait for a future watercolour sale and get the deals they have right now ;)
You know what? I did it... I got it!! I never had the smallest one pallete so... Perfect to bring out on the bag! I used your link so I hope you get your commission. Thanks for telling me, you are lovely! I'm also an Schmincke lover!
Oh, no! Haha, sorry! I was not going to place more orders either...but Schmincke for $24 I can put that set in my purse and not be precious with it! If you try the Michael Harding paints, please let me know. They aren't calling out to me yet...I'm not sure how they are different than all of the other brands. YES!! I shop the sales from my wish list. ;D 💗
Couldn’t help myself another comment from me: my 18 count set of Swisscolor Aquarelles do not have color names or numbers! Might be irritating for people with larger sets. Doesn’t bother me with my smaller set. ☺️
Very nice art haul Stephanie. I think that I live vicariously through "your" art hauls...I can dream about, wish for and drool over what you bought, while I fight the urge to click on the "Add to basket" icon, lol! That Sennelier box was beautiful. Is there something under the paint pans in the box, preventing the wood from getting wet and warping while you're using them? I would hate to damage that box with water. My very 1st set of watercolors was the 12+6 1/2 pan set of Sennelier, they are very pretty. I was going to get the Holbein gouache about a week ago (whenever Jackson's sent out the sale link), but I saw the disclaimer about them not being able to be shipped to the U.S., which bummed me out. Are the Schmincke soft pastels, better than Sennelier pastels? I've heard good things about both, but thought you probably have tried both and could provide me with insight for each brand.
Thank you so much, Cheryl! I used to do that too, and it helped me make my wish lists. I will be having some giveaways soon!! Thank you, it really is...it's so beautiful! No, there isn't so you have to be very careful or move them each time you paint. The paints are the best part, and you have those! Oh, I'm sorry about that! They aren't too much more at DickBlick luckily. But, in this set two of the colors aren't lightfast. Oh, choosing between my two favorite pastels would be hard. I would go with the one you can get the most colors with for the best price. I usually use my pastels with the cheap/harder pastels on the bottom layers and then work up to the more expensive soft pastels. That way you won't fill up the tooth of the paper as fast. I'm not an expert though, by any means...I just love it! I'm still in the experimenting and comparing phase. ;D 💗
I splurged on the CD Museum Aquarelle Marine set, the Derwent Drawing Pencil set, and two of their pencil rolls for travelling. I was very, very tempted by the Schminke pastel set but I accidentally bought a whole lot of things throughout the year, so I restrained myself.
That is awesome, I love the CD Museum Aquarelle's and the Marine set was my favorite! The Drawing Pencils are amazing and I think you will love those, as well! Ha, I needed more of the half sticks or I would of resisted too. Good job keeping yourself in check! ;D Enjoy all of your new supplies!! 💗
@@TheGypsyChic1 Since I posted, I went back onto the Jacksons site and the Schmincke pastels accidentally fell into my cart and you know the rest. Along with some of their super granulation sets. 😵💫😍
I got the sennelier box set too! I feel like a bandit! I can’t wait to use the brush. I looked at everything but I’m going to put a bow on it and wait until Christmas to paint❤
I'm soooo happy for you! Yes, the box is so gorgeous and was such a great price!! The brush looks amazing and I can't wait to try it as well. I'm going to swatch it for my channel, then put a bow on it! I hope you enjoy your box for many years!! 💗
Hi Stephanie, You are so lucky to have the Sennelier wooden box..definitely a treat. I have that on my list..when I look it was sold out. I want to try the soft pastels from Schmincke and that really nice tin of schmincke watercolors. You did so good! P.S. I check the items you have on my favorites and they are back. Ohh thank You for the extra tips!
Hi! Thank you so much! You can sign up to be notified when it comes back in stock. I've never seen it for close to that price before at $85. So, I hope you can get it when it is on sale! I hope you can try the Schmincke pastels and paints soon too. But, they will have more sales next year if you need to wait! ;) Thank you!!! You are so welcome, I hope you found the tips helpful! 💗
@@TheGypsyChic1 I placed my order this morning..some small things were out of stock. So I dodge the shipping cost because I found a Windsor and Newton professional set for 43 dollars and it had a coupon code for 10% discount. That code and my points from the summer got me 11 dollars off so I only paid 2 dollars of shipping. I only have a few sennelier items on the lookout. Thanks for creating this video..if anything I will start to pay attention to the emails before black Sale. I ignore it but still manage to get really excellent deals on all professional items. Many Blessings! Maria
That's great, Maria! I'm so happy for you!!! I had already used my 10% off coupon. Bahaha, I will hold out longer next year! I'm so happy to see you are using all of your reward points, etc. You are welcome! I love sharing and meeting new art friends. I don't have real life art friends who understand the joy art supplies bring me. I hope you love all of your purchases! It really is great getting such great deals on professional supplies! Many blessings to you and your family, as well!
I would love to see all your special edition Schmincke palettes in a video. Not for you to brag but for us to know what they’ve come on the market with, as far as prints and colors and all that goes. I was lucky enough to got the one from last year (bit of purple and lots of warm yellow) but I’m somewhat disappointed I didn’t know they come in Horadam too. Mine’s Academie and only 12, saw the same one a while later with 24 half pans instead of just 12. Not sorry that I missed out on that, I have Horadam paints, lucked out on a clearance sale of old but still new in their wrappers Horadam paints, they were 1€ each, most were even full pans!😮). I do know this palette of yours is special Jackson’s edition and not just Schmincke whereas mine from last year is so I don’t know whether they do each year or not, so I’d love a video on that at some point. I’d love to own all those wooden boxes too but for me that’s just the want monster because I’m sure I will get through 2 decades with just the paint that I own lol. Although those Schmincke paints and my 3 Rosa Gallery and 1 Rosa Studio palettes are maybe too moist to take with me in humid whether, didn’t dare risk it this last summer when I first got them after a few messy “travels” (just getting out the door, nothing fancy, due to ptsd and anxiety and more, I’ll always have something with me wherever I go, not necessarily paints but always something art or craft related and my noise canceling headphones)
Thank you for the request! I would love to share if it would be helpful. I can try to share that after the New Year. Many of the special edition pretty printed tins come with the Akademie paints only. I haven't found that tin with the Horadam paints, or I would have purchased it. This year's tin is only available with the Horadam paints from Jackson's. Everywhere else I've seen it with the Akademie paints. That is great you found such a great deal on Schmincke full pans!! Yes, the tin this year is a Jackson's exclusive! I will be sharing a video on it soon. But, I would honestly only recommend it for the pretty tin. They have other palette's with better colors and some great sales. The wood boxes are beautiful and definitely a splurge! I have enough paints to use for my lifetime and have fun sharing with friends, and my kids. I have a lot of similar challenges and art supplies really help me! I never leave home without some kind of art supplies, and earplugs. ;D I'm not sure where you are located, but I'm in Florida and don't have any issues traveling with Schmincke. I have not tried to travel with Rosa Gallery, but M Graham doesn't do well for me. Thank you for the comment, and the requests! I will try to make those videos after the holidays are over! 💗
I love ordering from Jackson's. I always use their cheapest shipping and have had no problem...it just takes a while to get the U.S. I was looking just like yesterday, and many of the items on promotion were sold out, but they still had a lot of good buys to choose from.Their prices are great and they have a fantastic selection. Unfortunately, there are some brands that they cannot ship to the U.S. due to a trade agreement. Winsor & Newton is one of those major brands. Bummer. p.s. Blicks will surely have some killer deals too. Gotta keep watch! 👀 20:10
Thanks, Nancy!! Yes, it's my guilty pleasure for sure! Thanks so much for sharing! I order the tracked shipping most of the time. Unless it is a large order, that I will be worried about. Or this order that I was hoping to share some sales before they were gone. ;D My orders take a few weeks, too. Which is great because then it's a nice surprise again on what I ordered. Lol Yes, it's a shame W&N and Holbein can't be shipped to the USA. Sometimes Holbein is a better price on Amazon Japan. Haha, I'm watching Blick, too! My hauls should really just be called: what I found on sale this month! ;D I hope you find some great prices on things you've been wishing for...it really makes it more fun! 💗
I also bought the Schmincke palette and I love how pretty the paint scheme is. The Sennelier set is one of my favorites and quality of the box is amazing. I have been contemplating buying another one and inserting some Schmincke colors because these boxes seem nicer than he Schmincke boxes. I resisted the Schmincke pastels because I already have a big box, but I did succumb to the lure of the Unison botanical set🤗 It is interesting that you only use DHL, because my experience was the opposite. Maybe it is because there is a FedEx hub where I live, but I get shipments much faster than DHL and DHL’s tracking is less detailed than FedEx.
Yay, I hope you love your set, as well!!! Thank you!! Isn't it beautiful! I wish they would make a new painted lid every year. I was ready to not purchase one if it was plain black, with the same boring colors. Thank you! This Sennelier box is somehow more beautiful than my old box. Really? Thanks for letting me know. I've had the Schmincke wooden box on my wish list forever. I keep hoping my hubby will get it for me, if it's on sale. I felt I couldn't resist such a great price on the pastels. I have only splurged on 2 Unison pastels, they were amazing. I will have to check out the botanical set, thank you!! Unison pastels seemed even better than Schmincke, but so much more expensive. Thanks for sharing your shipping experience. The one time I ordered from Fed Ex, they made me give them my SSN and sign legal documents, etc. It was such a nightmare. I use the tracked shipping most of the time. Thanks for sharing all of your love for art with me! 💗
HUGE Jacksons tip (and overseas shopping in general)- if you have a credit card that doesn't charge anything for overseas transactions, pay in Sterling pound and not US dollar- Jacksons charges an exchange fee on top of the exchange rate and you can avoid that if you just use your card that has no transaction fee. Same with watching the exchange rate of the pound to dollar - it varies day by day (hours, sometimes, depending on the time change), and sometimes you can save a tremendous amount on a larger order simply by waiting a few hours for the markets to change.
Thank you for sharing! I always thought if you selected the Sterling pound you would be charged the VAT which could be around 20%. They do factor in the exchange rate, that is why I paid $48 for my palette, and today it shows $51. It will change sometimes daily. My credit card doesn't charge extra fees. Thanks for the tips for everyone!
@@TheGypsyChic1 nope, they drop the VAT, as far as I can tell. Amazon Japan does the same. If you select your location as US, but your currency as pound sterling, you tend to get the lowest prices.
Haha, all the best people I know did! But, we got great deals and are investing in our future happiness! I hope you love everything you got, as much as I did!!! ;D 💗
@@TheGypsyChic1 I went for the new special edition ultimate mixing palette from Schmincke and the volcano super granulating set - had to get volcano yellow as a separate half pan, but can’t wait to have a proper play with them at the weekend. I was so tempted to get the white special edition tin but I preferred the colour choice in the ultimate more. 😝🤣
Great choice!! You got a better price than when I purchased it!! Yes, the color selection is much better for that set. If I didn't collect pretty palettes, I would not have gone for the Christmas set. I will be gifting some colors, and switching out all of the colors. Lol I hope you enjoy the Volcano set, too!! Enjoy!!!
Here to avoid be taxed are recommended to us to buy only 50 $ at time and choose the most cheap shipping with track, here in Brasil, people who bougth there always say that. Love the colorfull tin and the point 2 brush!!!
Interesting that you received Holbein Gouache from Jacksons. I order from them regularly and the Holbein items have a note that they cannot be shipped to the US/Canada? "Please note: due to trading agreements we are unable to ship this product to the US and Canada."
Yes, I made the mistake on accident! ;( I just pulled up the Black Friday Deals page, and started adding everything to my cart. I did not see the disclaimer, since I didn't go to the page the item. I don't want to get Jackson's in trouble or anything, so I added the note to my description box.
But I thought you were gifting the Sennelier box to your daughter?!? Shouldn’t she be the one swatching her paints set?? This is the joy of acquiring a new watercolor set. 😮
I will be asking her if she will mind, of course after she opens it or let her swatch them first etc. She is not a perfectionist at all, and I'm sure she will not mind. But, we will see... ;D
It's interesting you say to use DHL and not FedEx. DHL sent my last package to my home town in Florida. It took 3 weeks between the time it arrived in New Jersey to the time I suddenly got the "out for delivery" email and got excited. It didn't arrive. I checked tracking and saw it was sent back to the local facility and rerouted..... to Hawaii. The DHL agent on the phone said they would have it reversed once it hit Los Angeles but it still made it to Hawaii, made two island hops, and went out for delivery to someone there who thankfully refused the package. It was rerouted all the way back to New Jersey before being sent south again. Jackson's for their part refunded me the shipping and gave me a coupon for a future order, even though it was entirely DHL's fault.
Oh, that's too bad! Yes, I've placed 50 or more orders over the last 5 years and never had one problem with DHL. But, your story sounds like our luggage on our honeymoon! Lol I do use tracked shipping often too, and have never had a problem. I'm glad Jackson's made it right for you!
I got a couple of sets of Sennelier watercolours, one of the Jackson's branded pastel drawers and some Arches watercolour paper in the black Friday sale!
@@Catsandcamera Thank you!! The box is stunning, and it is out of stock now sadly. But, it was $85! So, I will be giving my daughter my old box and keeping this new pretty one. Lol If I had to choose between the two...I would have chosen tubes, too! I only chose the wood box because the metal 24 half pan set is $135.
Yay!! I'm so happy for you!!! I hope you love them all, as much as I do! I did look at the Jackson's pastel drawers...please let me know how you like them! Maybe next year for me...
@@TheGypsyChic1 They're great, I've been wanting some for ages but they always seem so expensive for what they are, no matter where you shop. I gave mine a coat of wood stain so it's smoother and more protected. I was pretty shocked how much stuff fit in there, I had loads of tins and boxes stacked and now all the supplies are in the draws tucked away!
Yes, I agree! That is why I just keep waiting. I think I should check out antique shops for something similar maybe. I can imagine the wood staining you did makes them even more beautiful! I'm sure your studio looks amazing with the stacks all tucked away. Mine has stacks everywhere, but still tidy! ;D
Sorry, it was my mistake. I just added everything to cart from the Black Friday sale page, without reading the fine print first. You can order from DickBlick and Amazon though, and you might find good deals on Amazon Japan. ;)
Thanks, Julia! Yes, I'm glad I got my set years ago. They aren't my favorite, and I'm not sure they are worth the cost now really. Have you tried the Faber Castell Albrecht Durer? I think they are better and often less expensive. 💗
Beautiful supplies! I've had great luck with FedEx through Jackson's, actually. The last two times I ordered, I got my stuff in about 3 days--faster than amazon stuff ordered at the same time--and it was under $10.
Thank you!! Good to know! Maybe some items are better to order using Fed Ex? I ordered some FW acrylic inks with watercolors. They required me to send my SSN and sign legal documents...it was a nightmare..and it took almost a month. I usually use tracked shipping, but this for this order I used DHL and it was here in 2-3 days! Amazing either way!
@@TheGypsyChic1 Oh, weird! I ordered watercolor and gouache, along with some paper, and they just dropped it at my house like normal, no hassle whatsoever. The first time I did regular tracked shipping, and it took a couple of weeks but was fine. I haven't tried DHL, but I've had good luck with other overseas orders through them. It had to have been something you ordered or just a weird fluke.
It's great to know you had no problems! It can save you a bit sometimes to order FedEx. I play around with the amount in my cart to pay the least amount of shipping. You may be right, maybe the acrylics caused the problem. I wouldn't chance it again personally, as I often try new mediums. I've heard others had problems, too. I do love they that they give you options to choose from. Lately, my tracked orders are only taking 2 weeks! So, I use that way most of the time. I've had good luck ordering from Jackson's, Cult Pens, and Amazon Japan. Thanks again for sharing your experience! ;D
It would be nice if you were saying sales in percentages (if not prizes before and after). It would let us know what kind of sales jacksons offers before christmas.
That would be difficult because the prices change daily. Depending on how the dollar compares to the British Pound. But, I tried to tell the price of a few items to help as much as I could. For example DickBlick has the pretty Schmincke palette, with 12 half pans but the color selection is different for $99. Jackson's has it now for $66 today, but I've seen it as low as $47.
Hi Jessica! Yes, I have lots of videos of me creating art, reviews and I also share some of my artwork in my favorites videos. I have a playlist to make the videos a bit easier to find. They just sadly don't get many views or comments, like my hauls do. And they take much longer to create and edit...so I tend to share what people seem to want most. ;D
I have the 18 count set of CD Swisscolor Aquarelle. I think these are a very good student grade art supply. I agree the pencils are thinner, lighter, the core is thinner, but they lay down and dissolve in water very well. Also, they keep their point for longer then the CD Museum Aquarelles. I use these to make corrections and add detail to my watercolor paintings. I’ll stop commenting now. 😁
Oh, thank you for letting me know!! I was already thinking they may be a bust, plus it was only a few dollars savings. I can't wait to compare them. Yes, the CD Museum Aquarelles are gorgeous, but i'm precious with them still. Thanks so much for sharing your experiences, that is truly my favorite part of why I share videos. Comment all you want, I love chatting about art! Plus, it helps your chances for my giveaways! ;D
@@TheGypsyChic1 I was very curious about these and I wasn’t bothered about lightfastness, so I thought just get them. So I did. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice they are. I reach for these all the time for detail work or corrections on my paintings, because they have a firm tip. I’m ‘saving’ my precious Museum Aquarelles, but I’m not sure what I’m saving them for LOL! 🤪😂🤣
Yes, I don't care about lightfastness either right now, if the price is right. Haha, me too! I do use them, but I use them sparingly. I think I'm saving mine for if/when I'm a better artist...and I can't imagine how expensive they will be by then! Lol
Thank you, Karen!! I'm sorry I wasn't able to share while I was shopping, like you had requested last year. I couldn't think of how to do that, without it looking like a cash grab video. While I appreciate when people use my links, etc. I never want anyone to think that is why I make these videos. I hope that makes sense and you understand. 💗
@@TheGypsyChic1 of course! It is fun to see your excitement and recommendations! Good luck your daughter, how very cool that she is pursuing a degree in art education.
I'm still on the hunt for a colorful schmincke metal case, but without paints, because I want to put my own set in there..but It's impossible to find anything like that😪
Aw, sorry Alina! Yes, that would be hard to find it empty. Maybe you could buy it, and sell the paints by themselves on eBay? That would probably make the palette free for you?!? I hope you find something you love soon! 💗
I know, I'm so sorry Cheryl! It was listed in the sale section so I didn't see the disclaimer until I went to link it. ;( But, at least that set is not as big of a savings as most of the products.
@@TheGypsyChic1 Please don't think that I'm blaming you, because I definitely am not. I received the email from Jackson's about their sale going on and I looked the Holbein Gouache up right away, only to see that disclaimer. It had nothing to do with your link. I should have pointed that out and I do apologize for not doing so.
@Cheryl No, not at all! I just got excited and started adding them all to my cart. I feel so bad that I didn't see the disclaimer before I ordered! I don't want Jackson's to get in trouble. ;(
So much fun! I have an old 12 color set of Supracolor 2, watercolor pencils that I got many years ago at an art supply store in Winchester,Va. I never really used them that much and didn't really know how.to use them. Then a couple of years ago, I came across a set of 40 Supracolor 2's at Michaels, of all places. They had one last set on the shelf and had reduced it to $37!!! (they usually sell for $60-$70.) I couldn't grab it fast enough! Ive only recently started to use the Supracolor 2's and they perform beautifully. On good wc paper, the color lay down is really nice. In my 40 color pset, there is a soft, very light baby blue color. Besides the teal /turquoise blues, it is one of the prettiest blues Ive seen in a color pencil. One thing Ive learned with watercolor pencils is that as soon as you wet the color on the paper, you shouldn't let it sit for too long without blending it out or blending it in to another color as a darker edge will set up pretty quickly and then there's more work to blend that out. Finding killer deals at Michaels: Sometimes individual Michaels stores will put a really low clearance price on items they're discontinuing. These are unadvertised specials that you just have to come across. It's always worth cruising around Michaels when I have the chance to scour the shelves to see what they might have decided to clear out. They don't put these type of items in the regular clearance bins, I guess bc they don't have that many. It's always worth a look. 👀
Thanks, Nancy!! You found really great deals, which makes great products even better (to me anyway)! I like the Supracolors! I'm not sure if I have the Supracolor or Supracolor 2's now. I've had them since 2018 and I seem to reach for my Albrect Durer more. But, the Supracolors have some beautiful colors that the FC doesn't have! Thanks for the tips on watercolor pencils and killer deals at Michael's!! Very helpful information!! 💗
Hey everyone! Here is a quick link for the Jackson's Schmincke Christmas Edition 2022 palette: www.jacksonsart.com/en-us/schmincke-horadam-watercolour-paint-metal-set-12-half-pans-jackson-s-edition?___store=jacksonsart_us&acc=fe131d7f5a6b38b23cc967316c13dae2 💗
They are not in stock at the moment 😞
Then excitement in your voice is just precious ❤ Happy happy crafting ❤
Thank you, my sweet friend!! Yeah, it's embarrassing when I play it back to edit...but I can't help it! Lol Happy crafting my friend!! 💗
I can't help it but I LOVE an art haul!
Thank you, Helen!! I love art hauls, as well! 💗
I absolutely love your hauls especially when they have watercolors in them. The swatches are I look forward to.
Thank you so much, Sahrish! I will be filming the swatches tomorrow!
Holy. Smokes. That Schmincke colorful box is stunning! You are adorable! I’m totally living vicariously. I did get a small Jackson’s haul but held myself in check this year! I loved hearing your sweet excitement in your voice. Awesome haul, girl!🎉❤👏👍🤗
Ok, update, I used your link and bought the Schmincke palette 🤣😂
Thank you, Maggie!! It really is, I'm going to set it up as a Christmas palette. They are having such great sales. I am only getting unique colors or palettes from now on, so this fit. Lol Aw, thanks!! I feel a bit silly but it is just so fun! I can't wait to see what you picked out! 💗
Haha, I truly don't think you will regret it! Their colorful tins are just beautiful! Enjoy my friend!!!
Thank you!! Me too! I love their pretty printed palettes and I hope this one makes your heart happy! 💗
@@TheGypsyChic1 you’re welcome! The Jane Blundell set has the right colors for me too. Do you have a video of it? Thanks!
@@TheGypsyChic1 🤩👍
I've just recently discovered Roman Szmal paints and I actually think I like them more than the Schminke,
Sorry, I’m not quite awake still drinking coffee and not a morning person…I typed birthday instead of Christmas regarding your daughter’s gift.
I hope people understand that your daughter doesn’t mind ONE LITTLE bit that you opened the cellophane, etc so you could share with us!!!
I gift my extra colors also. It’s about the palettes as much as anything for people like us!!!
You use your paints in every one you buy. I’m not as good as you….lol
If you love Schminke like we do it’s SO exciting to get those pallets.
I just wish I’d have bought 2…lol
Love all your purchases.
I feel your excitement! Love these all!
Yay!! Thank you for letting me share with you!! Thank you, I love them all too! 💗
yay.. perking my coffee now..!!
Yay!! Thanks Marie! Enjoy!
I caved and ordered that Scminke set also. I have one other curated set from Wet Paint. I'm excited to combine the two in this pallet. So pretty.
Hi Jen! Hope you enjoy it!! Thank you! I think you will enjoy it for years to come. This is the first set that is almost as pretty as the Wet Paint set I have, as well. Enjoy you new set and have fun combining them! 💗
that Sennelier box is gorgeous!
Thank you!!! It really is gorgeous!
I've also had some luck getting older palettes on Amazon Germany, once the hype is over. ;)
Lol, you know me well!! ;D I think you are right about this palette being more of a collector set, for sure!
Oh, wow! You are so lucky! The have the best stuff!! Ha, well I'm so happy for you!

Enjoyed your haul. I went on a bit of a spree at Jacksons as well. Schmincke soft pastels and super granulating wcs. So lovely!
Thank you! Oh, how fun! I hope you enjoy the pastels and super granulating colors as much as I do!
That wooden Sennelier box is gorgeus.
Thank you!!! I agree and I love it so much!
@Dj HadaVerde did you see they added more to the early black friday sales?!? They have a tiny Schmincke set for $25!
Leave all the comments you wish! Thank you for letting people know, I didn't even notice that...bummer. I wish they at least had numbers...
I'm still in the experimenting and comparing phase. ;D 💗
Smiling because you love nice packaging as much as I do.
Always! It's embarrassing, but so true! Thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one.
Haha, tis the season to save money by spending money! I hope you enjoy all of your new products. We will be all set for months after Christmas!! 💗
I got the sennelier box set too! I feel like a bandit! I can’t wait to use the brush. I looked at everything but I’m going to put a bow on it and wait until Christmas to paint❤
And thank you for the tips at the end.

I never leave home without some kind of art supplies, and earplugs. ;D
I'm not sure where you are located, but I'm in Florida and don't have any issues traveling with Schmincke.
Lol
Yes, it's a shame W&N and Holbein can't be shipped to the USA.
Thank you! Yes, I love Amazon Japan as well. That is where I purchase most of my Holbein products. Thanks again for all of your tips!!
I may have dented my bank account on this Black Friday sale at Jackson’s too 😂🤣😂🤣
Haha, all the best people I know did!
Enjoy!!!
@@TheGypsyChic1 Schmincke and Jackson’s just know we are suckers for a cute palette 🤣 we can’t say no 🥰🤗
Right?!?! Luckily I still have friends to share the paints with, so I didn't have to think twice about getting it! 💗
Here to avoid be taxed are recommended to us to buy only 50 $ at time and choose the most cheap shipping with track, here in Brasil, people who bougth there always say that. Love the colorfull tin and the point 2 brush!!!
Great tips for the people in Brazil! I usually use the tracked shipping, as well. Thank you, I love them all!
I've just got to your Sennelier wooden box! I was debating between that and the tubes, but decided on the tubes as I have a lot of paint pans
Mine has stacks everywhere, but still tidy! ;D
Did they ship the gouache to the States? The website says they can't now, Hmmmm. Thanks!
Sorry, it was my mistake. I just added everything to cart from the Black Friday sale page, without reading the fine print first. You can order from DickBlick and Amazon though, and you might find good deals on Amazon Japan. ;)
I love Supracolor, but they are so expensive now. I wish I bought them at clearance in Michaels couple of years ago.
@@TheGypsyChic1 thats why I said the percentages. (This was 40% off, this was 15% off…..etc.) :-)
Do you have a link for the printed Horadam tin? I can't find it. Perhaps it's already sold out.
Found it
Can you share it please 🙈

@@TheGypsyChic1 thank you 😊
Do you ever show your art creations with all your supplies?
Hi Jessica! Yes, I have lots of videos of me creating art, reviews and I also share some of my artwork in my favorites videos. I have a playlist to make the videos a bit easier to find. They just sadly don't get many views or comments, like my hauls do. And they take much longer to create and edit...so I tend to share what people seem to want most. ;D
Thank you so much!!!
Lol
@@TheGypsyChic1 🤩
Pretty palettes!
Thank you!! Thank you, she will love it!
I went to jacksons to buy holbein gouache and they have a disclaimer saying they can't deliver these to the US. I was so bummed
Yes, I'm sorry! I saw that when I went to link it. Luckily they aren't too much more on Amazon or DickBlick.
I did the same thing and was sadly pouting at the screen when I read that disclaimer about not being shipped the U.S. :(
I know, I'm so sorry Cheryl!
I don't want Jackson's to get in trouble. ;(
Enjoyed your review of art supply...mikelle art mom👩🎨✍🎨
Thanks so much, Mikelle!! 😊💗
잘보고갑니다 ㅎㅎ
Thank you for watching.
Finding killer deals at Michaels:
Sometimes individual Michaels stores will put a really low clearance price on items they're discontinuing.
