  • I wanted to scout out the East Carson River to see what was going on as the snow starts melting and it kicked off quite the fishing adventure.

    Caught a lot of fish there in the 60s and 70s as a kid with my family. Good memories.

      Sounds like good memories and good times. Some of the best memories I have myself are of fishing and camping as a kid. That's one of the main reasons I keep my channel family friendly and encourage my viewers to take kids fishing. Not enough kids these days camp and fish so maybe I can reach some of them.

      Right on. Thanks for checking it out. I thought I might get something early and maybe be home by noon! It wasn't in the cards! Grind on!

    Wrapping it up at 3 pm after an early start is a long good day of fishing! Smartest move was abandoning your original plan! Great Brown!

      I spent more hours driving and hiking than I did fishing! Fun day. That Brown was awesome. I couldn't believe that thing hit in such low crystal clear water. I must have caught it by surprise.

    Fish the Carson river in mid or end of April. Even the start of May. They stock it heavily and it has a lot of small mouth and other assorted fish all along the river from Genoa down to lahontan. I’m telling you, do a series on Carson river and you will have a lot of various fish.

      @@wildernesswithamani1027 bullheads and channels, small mouths, browns and rainbows. When you get closer to lahontan you get white bass, walleye, perch, cats

    Shoreline at Tahoe east shore looks accessible.

      Tahoe looks good, I just haven't hit a fish in multiple tries. Fished 8 hours last week and didn't get a bite. The minnows and crawdads aren't in the rocks in large numbers yet. I think the harsh Winter has really pushed the Spring fishing action back a ways. It hasn't been great everywhere I go!

    Dude yes, as soon as the sun hits that frozen clay mud, friggin disaster. Gonna be warm next week too its gonna be a blown out mess

      @wildernesswithamani1027  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That was a mess I got stuck it. It was where a mudslide went into the river so it was all soft. The stuff at the edge of the river and the mound of mud that went up the bank/hill. No Fun!

    Brave man. The EC can be grim. Just a couple of days ago it peaked. That's why the mud on the shore. In two weeks both the EC and the WW will be chocolate milk. That was a pretty brown from the Truckee.

      I might have been able to get something if I stayed and went into a full grind but I just didn't have it in me. The snow hasn't even begun to melt. It's going to start warming up fast so look out! You seem to see it coming. It's going to be wild this year.

      @@wildernesswithamani1027 Personally I fish the EC above 89. I'm sure that it still looks like a slushie. It will flood. The West Carson still has 4 to 6 feet of snow in Hope Valley. Indian Creek should be good to go. We last fished ICR just before Thanksgiving. The lake was already half ice but there were some 18 to 20 inch LCT and rainbows to be had. Should be good. I'll check it out next week.

    No it hasn't started melting yet.We could get drilled again.

      Yeah, I took a look northward up the highway from the West Walker river towards the 108 and it didn't look like much has melted. It's going to start warming up so we could see raging rivers for a while that will be difficult to fish. I just want it to stop snowing and not be so cold!

      @@wildernesswithamani1027 Hey Amani,how you doooin. Pretty soon none of our creeks or rivers will be very fishable. The water equivalent is the star,of this winter,even over the enormous snowpack. Tight lines brother.
