Luv that blue after image it looks so great and it just shows that the devs have their hearts hard wired on the heritage of fighting games. Also that SPD gauge kind of throws a wrench on the hole come back mechanics of the game, in KOF if you have the meter to back it up than you can mess up ur opponent on their first opening. I'm guessing that ppl won't use SPD on their full health third because you already start with ur revs at 0. I'm curious to see how this will develop online
The Rev gauge really does remind me of the the Drive system from Street Fighter 6, but instead of a meter that drains when you use it, you have to make sure that the gauge doesn't become too full. I wonder if more fighting games will have a meter for EX specials and other stuff that's separate from the super meter.
It's sad because for me is better than "Children", especially because the first minute is original and it's also my favorite part. If others can have something like "Ice Ice Baby" (which is "Under Pressure") I don't get why I can't get "Spread the Wings".
I love you explanation of what’s all going on in the game and what we can expect from this awesome looking game. Awesome preview and well detailed explanation on what’s going on. I suck at fighting games but I still enjoy playing them.
Man, probably developing game mechanics for Garou 2 is hard, because you really have to think more that it will differentiate form other 2d fighting and mostly their franchise game KOF XV.

I missed out on KoF15, so when it comes to content I don't know if I heard anyone talk about anything in it except rollback. That being said, I'm hoping they got content in the bag here because this game looks very promising so far. Some of those combos, with the feints/cancels, I need a boxer here lol.
8:05 Incredibly weird comparison, but ARMS also has something like that, where you can dash forward after blocking something, though with a much more lenient timing window
Rock has an air fireball now, that's crazy bro!? I didn't mind using Rock Howard in Garou, but I definitely thought he was way more fun to use in CVS2.
Fighting games need to come up with standard naming conventions...supers, special moves, perfect parry, etc. Every time a new game comes out these "new" mechanics aren't actually new.
In my opinion, it looks better than street fighter 6 and the style seems heavily inspired from MVC3, going to check this out for sure, the mechanics look fun too

Though I'd love to see Rick Strowd and Li Xiangfei from RB2 in CotW, as well as Alfred from Dominated Mind
I also really hope Rick Strowd returns, as well as Duck King.
Just for the mention I really love the cut in the intro truly flawless 🙌🏾
Awesome dude❤
Dang this looks awesome
This looks awesome thanks Max for bringing us a hands on preview🔥
damn fam I see what you did with that intro that was clean AF!!!
HELL YEAH! I CANT WAIT FOR THIS ONE!!!!!!
Aww, yeah. My girl Hotaru is back, baybay! And is that a Joe Higashi protege or did Hwai Jai have a kid? And that's just the first couple of minutes. Hella excited to fill in the blanks later.
Why am i just now getting the notification for this video?! Haha. Dood that just defended rising tackle was sick, And looks like an aerial multi-parry from 3rd Strike. I'm excited tbr
Nice stuff Max.
Thanks for Showing this Preview man.
Yh the Game is looking hella fun.
Max is literally the Marques "MKBHD" Brownlee of video games.
The guy can do a straight faced stream talking about games. All of the speculation, hopes and impressions. Pretending he has no idea.
Then BAM, surprise!
He has actually played everything ever, way before anything has happened.
I’m thinking I’ll like this more than SF6. Really looking forward to it!
This is INCREDIBLE already having a hands on preview, it looks so damn good
Luv that blue after image it looks so great and it just shows that the devs have their hearts hard wired on the heritage of fighting games.
SNK IS GOING ALL OUT
*FULL THROTTLE!*
The Rev gauge really does remind me of the the Drive system from Street Fighter 6, but instead of a meter that drains when you use it, you have to make sure that the gauge doesn't become too full. I wonder if more fighting games will have a meter for EX specials and other stuff that's separate from the super meter.
Whether it fills up and overheats, or you empty out and go into burnout, it's the same thing once you get past the surface look of it.
@@AirLancer theres some differences though. Blocking makes rev go up and overheat is not a big punishment like Burnout
Man I really hope they're gonna use this artstyle in KOF series as well. It looks stunning.
KOF XV should get some visual upadates.
And yet, alas, Spread the Wings will never return.
Yes ☹️
Because it was literally just "Children" by Robert Miles
It's sad because for me is better than "Children", especially because the first minute is original and it's also my favorite part. If others can have something like "Ice Ice Baby" (which is "Under Pressure") I don't get why I can't get "Spread the Wings".
@@vandagylon2885
Applies to about a third of the song, so that’s not completely fair to say.
Gonna take you for a ride! Do-do-do-do do do! Gonna take you for a ride! ♪
CvS 2 vibes!
I love you explanation of what’s all going on in the game and what we can expect from this awesome looking game. Awesome preview and well detailed explanation on what’s going on. I suck at fighting games but I still enjoy playing them.
It's not Garou 2 either, it's Garou 7 technically. Fatal Fury was always called Garou in Japan, so we have 1, 2, 3, RB, RB 2, MOTW, and now COTW
Looks so much like Mahvelllll!! Love it
Man, probably developing game mechanics for Garou 2 is hard, because you really have to think more that it will differentiate form other 2d fighting and mostly their franchise game KOF XV.
Legit, KOF XVI graphically is in good hands, I think.
The fucking cam shake on terrys moves make his moves hit so hard it looks so good
I really love the art style and effects 🎉
Where is Rock's hair flick animation?
Yup, it is missing.
I Highly recommend to watch Anime Fatal Fury movies - so that you may understand the story behind it.
FF over was a good serious, and as Max said - Garou: Mark of the Wolves was something very special.
Seriously awesome. I can't frikin wait. GO SNK 🔥🔥🔥
Lets hope the matchmaking work.
Oh HELL NO! I don't want any nerfs but Tizoc already scares me 😅. Obviously I gotta take the wait and see approach. I missed out on KoF15, so when it comes to content I don't know if I heard anyone talk about anything in it except rollback. That being said, I'm hoping they got content in the bag here because this game looks very promising so far. Some of those combos, with the feints/cancels, I need a boxer here lol.
Rick Strowd for this game's boxer pls 🙏
This looks more like it has style than the KoF one... I guess they were experimenting with 15 to just get everything right.
That Intro was Absolute Badass! 🔥
Ever since SF4, I’ve always loved the cel-shaded / watercolor art style in fighting games.
Can’t wait to see more of this game!
I absolutely loveeee the art style. Its a better version of MvC3 and its great. Probably my personal favorite looking modern 2D fighter, its so clean.
IT'S TIME TO ROCK!!!
Awesome review max, can’t wait for this game to come out
8:05 Incredibly weird comparison, but ARMS also has something like that, where you can dash forward after blocking something, though with a much more lenient timing window
Sorry but Japanese VA Terry will always be the voice of Terry. No one else can get that ARE YUH REDDY line perfect
Gameplayyyy??? Yeahhh
I'm so fricken hyped for this!
This game’s art style and Max’s Intro went perfectly together!
Fatal Fury was my second KOF game back in 1997
What do you mean? It's not KOF. Maybe you mean it's your second SNK game?
@@extract8058 Insert some pedantic moron that brings up how Fatal Fury 1 was subtitled "The King of Fighters" as if that proves something.
WHY DOES THIS LOOK EPIC 🎉
Rock has an air fireball now, that's crazy bro!?
I didn't mind using Rock Howard in Garou, but I definitely thought he was way more fun to use in CVS2.
Can't help but that MVC2 song came right in my head after that Rock opening dialogue.
Fighting games need to come up with standard naming conventions...supers, special moves, perfect parry, etc. Every time a new game comes out these "new" mechanics aren't actually new.
In my opinion, it looks better than street fighter 6 and the style seems heavily inspired from MVC3, going to check this out for sure, the mechanics look fun too
Nice to see the early preview. Also great to hear that Rock plays so nice. Now I wait for B. Jenet's addition.
Oh by the way, Garou is ON SALE at Steam for $4.99 until the 22nd.
This looks Gorgeous! Probably most similar to UMvC3 with the dark shadows.
Hope they fix the 30fps on background characters, that was an issue in SF5 as well, a real eyesore when you notice it.
Idk why you’re staring at backgrounds when you gotta focus on the fight in a fighting game.
@@chronology556 By your logic all fights in a fighting game can take place in a white void, or just on the training stage (the latter is what ruined watching competetive SF5 because that is only the stage that was picked)
I have never heard of this game. Is it a series or a standalone?
old series first new game in like 2 decades
The door is there. I trust you know what to do...
Greatness, all I'm going to say is give it a try. You won't be disappointed
This is a sequel to an arcade/console game called Garou Mark of the Wolves. It originally came out on the Neo Geo. Probably the most technically accomplished fighter on Neo Geo hardware. The animation work in the original is next level. It's was also, of course, a really good fighting game.
starts with fatal fury 1,2,3 and special, then there is the real bout series and it ends with Garou Mark of the Wolves. And now we Have City of the wolves as the next game in the series
Never played an SNK game before but i think it is now time to when it drops this looks beautiful
i love how lively the stage looks
