For those who don’t know. Preecha, the new character, was actually the female Muay Thai character that was only seen as an unused sprite for Garou 2 before the sequel was cancelled back in the 2000’s and according to the devs they said she’s a student of Joe Higashi.
Preecha is more so the concept rather than the character from the canceled Garou 2. The original character was named "Kuan", and she had short black hair and athletic pants.

Never played a KOF or Fatal Fury. I loved playing Terry (and the SF shotos) in Smash so much it actually inspired me seek out FGs. I’m excited for this game.
Even the subtitle for the first Fatal Fury game was The King of Fighters and some artwork features Terry's hat with the words "King of the Fighters" instead of Fatal Fury. Heck, in the original Mark of the Wolves, Kain organizes a new King of the Fighters tournament under the subtitle Maximum Mayhem
What's more is that the English cast are experienced VAs. Rock's English voice actor is Griffin Puatu who did Bosch of Street Fighter 6 and Seox of Granblue Versus, and Hotaru's voice actress is Suzie Yeung who did YuffIe from FF7R and Fuuka from Persona 3 Reload.
Right? First time since like 2006 I've heard English voices in this series, although it was King of Fighters (I'm new to this so idrk the difference between KOF and FF)
This looks phenomenal, the art style and stage shown feel very much like you want it to when thinking of a new Garou/FF game and the gameplay shown already makes me want to play it. If they can somehow combine the rosters of Garou and Real Bout 2 it'll be an absolute smash hit. Freeman when?
While Path of the Warrior: Art of Fighting does have some impressive rotoscoped animation, the way the characters look and animate in that game always looked kind of off to me. In my opinion Mark of the Wolves and The Last Blade I & II had the best sprite work of all the Neo-Geo fighting games. Waku Waku 7 and Rage of the Dragons also have some impressive animations despite not being made by SNK and the first 3 Metal Slug games are very expressive as well.
It’s cool that it looks like it’ll have an English dub. While I’ll probably stick with the Japanese voices since that’s what I’m used to, it’s cool to see they got a budget for a dub.
I was hoping that since we had Geese in Tekken 7 we would get Rock in 8, but I didn't expect a whole Fatal Fury game to fulfill my Rock Howard addiction
Love the art direction! And another new fighting game has entered the mix…wonder if KOF 15 will have 1 last season before this comes out or it’s all hands on deck for this game?
Really loooking forward to more Maximum Impact characters appearing, esp Luise Meyrink, Nagase, Alba Meira, any of the Beart sisters and Duke. I take Lien Neville too, just cuz her playstyle is entertaining with her zoning tools, tho I dunno how well that would translate to 2D.
I like how this trailer is basically a remake of the first Guilty Gear Strive trailer: Just the two main character rivals going at it while the game's theme song plays.
When Max did his Terry Legacy years ago, I commented on each and every video with factoids about Fatal Fury and related SNK franchises like Art of Fighting and King of Fighters. In this vid, Max pretty much hit the nail on the head about SNK's history with FF and KOF. The first FF game was known as "Fatal Fury: King of Fighters". As the subtitle states, the tournament is called "The King of Fighters". The Art of Fighting series is a prequel to FF, taking place 10 years prior to FF1. Art of Fighting 2 had a younger Geese Howard orchestrate the very first KOF tourney. After Fatal Fury Special (a update to FF2 but technically non-canon), we got King of Fighters '94. Originally intended to be a crossover between FF and AOF, SNK decided to throw in other series like Athena, Ikari Warriors, as well as some original characters exclusive to KOF like Kyo Kusanagi. After KOF '95, no one ages so SNK can keep using these characters without having to worry about aging them up too much (some cases like Rock Howard are weird). Fatal Fury games kept coming out, but Garou: Mark of the Wolves* was the last game. There didn't seem to be more stories to tell with Art of Fighting (evident by AOF3's...odd plot imo) but there was definitely more stories to tell at the end of MotW. As I'm sure most of you know, there WAS supposed to be a Garou 2 but the game got cancelled. Now, here we are. * It's supposed to be called "Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves", but someone on the localization team messed up. In Japan, Fatal Fury is known as "Garou Densetsu" or "Legend of the Hungry Wolf". Interestingly, one of the newbies to CotW is Preecha. She could be a retooled version of "Kuan Konta" who was Joe Higashi's apprentice in the cancelled version of Garou 2. Kuan Konta also made a cameo appearance in KOF 12, so... Maybe they're separate people still? So for those who love KOF, you owe it all to Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting. I for one am super happy to finally see a new Fatal Fury game after 20 years~
Also if i remember well i think in an interview Snk also said a new Art of Fighting is on the works, if that's true i hope it is a 3d fighter like Tekken, not only it would be a nice shakeup and experiment but also it would be nice to have more fighting games like those these days considering Soul Calibur fate rn is unknown, tho i heard rumors it might be more of a beat them up or a bit like Yakuza soo we will wait and see
I'll never hold out hope for it, but would love to see some of the MI exclusive character make their way to other games. Feel like this would be the easiest transition for them since it was also set in South Town. They weren't great/good games, but were a lot of fun, and would love to see some love from them.
I think that ship sailed since they decided to introduce alien stuff in MI2 and Fatal Fury was a More "grounded" story, MI1 would fit perfectly well but the sequel ruined that
Yeah, that's understandable, I feel like it's more of a nostalgia trip for me. Some characters could be easier (Chae Lim), but that slot would more than likely go to an already existing character if they choose to fill it (Jae and/or Dong)@@000mjd
Wow this is way better than I thought it was going to be. I am extremely impressed, despite not generally being a thick lined cel shading fan. Hyped ✌️

Rock saw Jin jacking his style and came back to show him how to properly flex the energy wings, SNK made that effect look incredible as it rightfully should.
Actually Samurai Shodown 64 looked and played good for its time. And that's an actual 3D fighter not a 2.5D one. Much better than that PS1 SamSho game they made, Warrior's Rage or whatever it was called. It's too bad they lost the source code which is why they couldn't port it. Was some pretty interesting gameplay elements in that game like stage transitions
Samsho looked pretty well too, people still dont understand how hard it's to make a fg with big rosters and have a good visuals at the same time that it's the biggest problem with KOF series
They're pretty different other than both being muay thai girls. The original had short dark hair, dark skin, no glasses and wore long orange pants with a white tube top.
@maninredhelm Yeah, but if you ever look up concept art for characters, you'll see that some of them go through radically different designs before finally settling on the one they chose. What I'm saying is they might have further redesigned the character after that version, though there's no way to know for sure unless they say so.
Personally, I hate the semi realistic art direction and the choice of rap as music for Street Fighter 6. the artistic and musical direction of this new Fatal Fury should have been the one chosen for Street Fighter 6.
SF6 artstyle grew on me slowly, but initially I didn't like how everything seemed to jump to a super realistic version. As for the music, I do like the beats, it's something different from hard rock in every fighting game. I'm gonna be honest, I think fighting games should have a variety of music instead of just rock/metal for every song. Anarchy Reigns/Max Anarchy is the best example I can think of for this. Anyway, some of the character themes just didn't appeal to me, so I just played with the stage themes. Honestly I'm just kinda disappointed with how SF6 was handled. Balance wise it hasn't been out for a year yet, so I'm expecting characters to be stupid, but I don't really like how so many moves are safe when the game is teaching you to punish counter enemy moves, or some characters jabs stopping throws when others can't. I cant train against DLC fighters unless I buy them, even though the game is $60+, so the only way to train is gambling your rank points, hoping they know what theyre doing in Player match and then dont winquit, or find someone in Battle Hub (which in my current living situation, I cant really do). Next, I'm not against Modern controls, I think they can exist since not everyone wants to sweat or play super hard, but I domt think it's fair that people can perform reaction moves or combo tech with less effort than Classic players. Like the game just feels like it's not really teaching people anything. Not even my fictional queen Chun Li can keep me interested in the game. But this game just looks amazing all the way through, and I've never played Fatal Fury or KOF before. I'm prepared to train to enjoy it Edit: Oh yeah. SF6 tiny roster of the AAA fighting games and slow content (unless it's for the goofy avatars) also is disappointing
@@ameerrusdi2540 I hate rap from the bottom of my being, it's a musical style towards which I have nothing but contempt and hatred. I just have to hear it to get a migraine, headaches and my stress and my tension to rise so whether it's Street Fighter 6 or 3 it's the same shitty music that's inaudible and unbearable for me. Unpopular opinion: Street Fighter 5 has the best OST of the entire franchise after Street Fighter 2.
Fatal Fury was my first SNK fighting game (2nd fighting game that i played back in the day) i remember i played a lot of this in my sega game gear, and now im excited for this. (Hoping that Andy is playable)
Eh...so far the English VAs aren't bad...but I'll probably always prefer the Japanese seiyuu. I've heard them more often and when it comes to Joe his seiyuu is well known and usually the go to guy for hot blooded male characters. I hope Preecha isn't replacing Joe...no shade at her, she looks cool and it's a new take on Joe's tornado attacks but Joe is one of my favorite characters in Fatal Fury and KOF.
Joe wasn’t in Mark of the Wolves, outside of Terry, every character in that game was new blood, whether it be kids or students of old Fatal Fury characters or just new in general, and since this is more a direct sequel to that then just Fatal Fury as a whole, then yeah, she would be filling in for Joe, just like Kim’s kids filled in for him or Hokutomaru filled in for Andy and Mai. There was supposed to be a girl who did Joe stuff in the original canceled sequel to Mark of the Wolves, so it’s not a new idea.
@@landonhulett2119 That’s fair, I was just saying with how MotW was, I wouldn’t be surprised if Terry was still the only OG returning (granted I guess Rock is also OG being a 25 year old character)

Never played a KOF or Fatal Fury. I loved playing Terry (and the SF shotos) in Smash so much it actually inspired me seek out FGs. I’m excited for this game.
Same here and I got Garou for cheap on PS4 after Terry was put in Smash and it's really fun and looks great highly recommend.
24:15 You can see when he starts to melt lol
Like his eyes witness the Second coming of our Lord
he is just disappointed. maybe it's not the graphics. it's the art style that preventing a realistic graphics
@@prrithwirajbarman8389 Oh don't worry about it, that is NOT disappointment
I love how meaty the sound design is. That alone really might convince me to play it.
This game is BEAUTIFUL and im glad its garou getting this treatment, i hope that whole iconic cool ass roster comes back
Will Mai, Joe, Kim and Andy be in it or are they hiding in retirement again
Can't wait for Jae Hoon and Dong Hwan to join the roster!
Kim says not unti they finish their homework
Hey Max. The 1st Fatal Fury is where the king of fighters tournament originated from but at the time it was a 1 vs 1 fighter.
It looks freakin sweet! Love the art style.
I’m liking how it looks, also the music in this trailer is cool. Never played a fatal fury but this new one so far is looking sweet 💫
Fatal Fury is back with English Dub?! Awesome!
And it's actually good this time. The last time Fatal Fury had a good English dub was those three OVAs. Remember those?
What's more is that the English cast are experienced VAs. Rock's English voice actor is Griffin Puatu who did Bosch of Street Fighter 6 and Seox of Granblue Versus, and Hotaru's voice actress is Suzie Yeung who did YuffIe from FF7R and Fuuka from Persona 3 Reload.
Right? First time since like 2006 I've heard English voices in this series, although it was King of Fighters (I'm new to this so idrk the difference between KOF and FF)
@@isaaccooper862 Think Marvel comics versus MCU, uses same characters, but aren’t the same continuity.
@@Void_OutWould FF be like the Marvel Comics and KOF like the MCU? Or vice versa?
This looks phenomenal, the art style and stage shown feel very much like you want it to when thinking of a new Garou/FF game and the gameplay shown already makes me want to play it. If they can somehow combine the rosters of Garou and Real Bout 2 it'll be an absolute smash hit. Freeman when?
Actually, in deeper circles Art of Fighting 3 is considered the pinnacle oif 2D pixel art by SNK. There's a new AOF game in development, can't wait!!!
Art of fighting was mid tho
I always loved the broken glass hit spark of mov. Glad to see it come back.
I realsed later too that it was in english, not just Terry's english with a japaneese accent 😂
I love how they couldn't decide on whether to give Terry the rising tackle or power dunk so they combined them.
Love the art direction!
And another new fighting game has entered the mix…wonder if KOF 15 will have 1 last season before this comes out or it’s all hands on deck for this game?
I'm really glad developers suddenly remembered that cell shading with heavy black shadows looks really good
I've been waiting for a new Fatal Fury game for so long. I'm so glad to be able to witness this
Wow excited for this. It's been a long time for this series.
Dude, Imagine Maximum Impact Mai and Mr. Karate (Ryo) in this artstyle😮😮😮
I don't see any differences . They are just only changing lighting and effects. Artstyle is same as it was in samurai shodown and kof15
@@prrithwirajbarman8389 you are blind
@@Evilriku13NO THANK YOU
We all have been waiting for this!
If only other companies could do the same thing SNK is doing with its fighting games franchises. I'm looking at you, Capcom.
Holy crap, they gave Rock Howard Buzzsaw from Young Geese in Art of Fighting 2
Best way to describe it would be that KOF is the smash bros of snk IPs
I like how this trailer is basically a remake of the first Guilty Gear Strive trailer: Just the two main character rivals going at it while the game's theme song plays.
Good call on SNK for making the visuals more stylized and flashy, it'll make the game age much better than their previous 3d games for sure
NO THANKS
I think that ship sailed since they decided to introduce alien stuff in MI2 and Fatal Fury was a More "grounded" story, MI1 would fit perfectly well but the sequel ruined that
Yeah, that's understandable, I feel like it's more of a nostalgia trip for me. Some characters could be easier (Chae Lim), but that slot would more than likely go to an already existing character if they choose to fill it (Jae and/or Dong)@@000mjd
Wow this is way better than I thought it was going to be. I am extremely impressed, despite not generally being a thick lined cel shading fan. Hyped ✌️
They better bring Gato!!!
They definitely will. Gato is one of the most popular characters of fatal fury.
@@toledochristianmatthew9919joe replacement would beg to differ joe is like top 5 most popular at worst
@@ΚρανίΩ Gato was introduced in Mark of the Wolves, while every Fatal Fury character besides Terry wasn’t even in it, and since this is a direct sequel to that instead of Fatal Fury as a whole, Gato will be in

The animation is PHENOMENAL
I need a full version of that song
I recently got KOF XV and love it. This looks like a day one series X purchase. This looks really good.
Never have I ever clicked so fast in a notification before 🤣
Rock saw Jin jacking his style and came back to show him how to properly flex the energy wings, SNK made that effect look incredible as it rightfully should.
Fun fact Preecha is a Thai name but it is usually used for boys
Snk gave their female character a guy name they always being doing that lmao

Shout out to the Voice actor of Hotaru is also the same voice of Yuffie!
SNK FINALLY made a 3D game that looks great
models and artstyle is nice for sure, kof15 was already pretty nice. but damn SNK lack in special effects for moves for their 3d games.
Too much fast 3D effects. They will run away from your eyes before you even notice.
More like 2.5D
Actually Samurai Shodown 64 looked and played good for its time. And that's an actual 3D fighter not a 2.5D one. Much better than that PS1 SamSho game they made, Warrior's Rage or whatever it was called.
It's too bad they lost the source code which is why they couldn't port it.
Was some pretty interesting gameplay elements in that game like stage transitions
Samsho looked pretty well too, people still dont understand how hard it's to make a fg with big rosters and have a good visuals at the same time that it's the biggest problem with KOF series
Regarding it looking like Marvel 3, Rock did say " let me take you for a ride" haha
Max! Get rid of these bots!!!!!!!!!!! Do whatever you can!
That music makes feel like im back in the 90's.
Rock did a Power Gyser 😳
My first thought: Shinkiro artstyle fully animated.
I think she might have been that girl from the Garou 2 leak, but if it is, then they changed her a bit.
The air spikedown from Geese that Rock does is his air Rev Blow. You can do them in the air too just like you guessed.
SNK IS KILLING IT!!!
How so?

Little stuff for the channel Max
Honestly this looks much more fun than Street Fighter 6, this might have to be my intro to the SNKniverse
Sf6 is fun but man the game feel too slow because of the animation
Personally, I hate the semi realistic art direction and the choice of rap as music for Street Fighter 6.
the artistic and musical direction of this new Fatal Fury should have been the one chosen for Street Fighter 6.
@@Alexcobra861 man sf6 ost is just not good they try too copy SF 3 ost but didn't do good job of it
SF6 artstyle grew on me slowly, but initially I didn't like how everything seemed to jump to a super realistic version.
I'm prepared to train to enjoy it
Edit: Oh yeah.
KoF 13's artstyle was great.
Yamazaki Please! 🙏 🤩
@@Void_Out In the teaser, we heard voices of Andy, Billy, and Mai so it's possible for them to be playable alongside Joe.
@@landonhulett2119 That’s fair, I was just saying with how MotW was, I wouldn’t be surprised if Terry was still the only OG returning (granted I guess Rock is also OG being a 25 year old character)
