I always loved how crunchy MOTW sounds were.
Okay for me MOTW has the best one from start to finish followed by ironically enough Smash(Just something about seeing Terry dunking on Sonic's dome made me laugh)
Maximum Impact Terry's version is so fast you could barely see it but if you keep with it, the rotating camera really sells it.
Special shoutout to SVC Chaos, I loved how they animated it like Rock's Shining Knuckle with Terry blurring out a little bit. And that little nod to the Deadly Rave/Neo with the Buster finish was a nice touch for MI Terry.
Maximum Impact’s style seems to be that it doesn’t have hit stop, to show us how fast and strong the KOF Cast is I guess… too be honest, I don’t know how Maximum Impact has better sound design than KOF XIV-XV, voice acting? It’s obvious but responsive sounds? Nope
@@James-oj6ru I think because MI was an ambitious project that they really wanted the sounds to stand out. That's probably why everything always sounded like fireworks in a barrel
Also to add, I like how the MOTW version was the only one that had knockdown on the first part. Felt more impactful like the person just got completely overwhelmed.
In the game's aspect it also made it seem like if on the off chance you did trade with him, he'd still get a knockdown.
Yeah the impact really sells it. 2nd best is xiii.
Both Smash versions have the best visual effects for Buster Wolf. The cinematic version really shows what SNK could do with it. Really shows how hard Sakurai wanted to show off Terry.

Yeah, I am a fan of his MOTW design too big time since it keeps the same aesthetics as his classic look BUT helps to evolve Terry in a design perspective.
Definitely one of the best redesigns out there. And it's quite a radical change, he almost looks like Ken. Quite a bold move.

Like "Kim's pants" in all the old school KOF games the detail and the way it flow graphical was pretty amazing sight.
After all these versions the Garou version still reigns supreme! Each frame of the animation, the sound effects and Terry's voice tones. Everything is perfectly placed to create one of the coolest and most impactful super moves ever in fighting game history!
I'd say Smash Ultimate has the best version
There's not many versions though, when there's so much sprite recycling. Anyways it's true that the MOTW version is the best one.

As much as I love Garou... Smash and KOF 15 just give off so much power and force that it's super satisfying to perform.
FEXL version feels pretty solid too IMHO
What makes the smash version great is that there is very little build up. Terry rushes and punches the opponent in real time, which gives the moment so much more impact.
Apparently Terry always says "are you ok" because the creator heard a kid say it at an amusement park after getting drenched from a log flume ride and he thought it was funny.

Basically nothing comes close to how MOTW sounds for this move and Kondo will never replace Hashimoto in general.
That's one of the worst new voices in the series. Also there's no excuse for a game with 3d graphics in the 2020s perform worse physics than a 2d game in the 90s. He has no clothes physics in the main part of the move.
But that is a common problem in KoF 15. Other clothes physics are missing, when they existed in the 2d version of the same move.

That KOF XV hang time and impact is crazy but the crunchiness of Garou is amazing. Both are the Best
Buster Wolf is my favorite Terry move and although I like all the versions (especially Garou, Smash and Kof 15) there is something about Garou's version that catches my attention the most, which is Terry's tone of voice, there's a lot of excitement as if he really liked using this move and was enjoying the fight, it gives such an exciting feeling that they ended up leaving it aside in the following versions

Also one thing I'd like to note about the Garou version, it also sounds and it seemed (to me) like hes having trouble controlling it which seemed even cooler

Such a crime that Terry Garou is not a skin in Smash.
It’s kinda obvious which one is the best ain’t it? Like there’s no comparison between MOTW and KOF XIII, they’re the best version of the super, most of the reason is Hashimoto and his relaxed yet full of energy voices, there’s also the sound design which in both games, _are very great and sound extremely strong_

Garou is number 1 easily!!!! From the grunting voice SFX, explosion and Terry’s Easter Egg Homage to MegaMan’s “MegaBuster” firing pose… just pure greatness🔥💪🏾💯 second is the Smash Bros version that shatters the glass 😯 L goes to Capcom for butchering that move in CVS vanilla.

The Legendary Hungry Wolf of SouthTown has captivated my soul for years. His Burn[ing] Knuckle technique intrigued me, then I was blown away by his Crack Shoot axe kick and his Power Wave.
His Power Geyser rocked my mind when I first saw it, but still despite that. . . . there is nothing like the Buster Wolf!
1st and best Buster Wolf: Garou: Mark of The Wolves version.
2nd but still awesome Buster Wolf: Fighting EX Layer version.
3rd but worth a mention Buster Wolf: SNK vs Capcom: SVC Chaos version.
There is none like Terry Bogard's Buster Wolf, and there never will be a technique that equals the speed, power, and precision of such a strong and dreaded technique.

@@MikeWildePredator it's more like a text to speech thing but more advanced to emulate the voices you train the AI to mimick and make them sound less monotone, though with SpongeBob memes they tend to leave it more robotic sounding, but there are some kinda freakishly close AI voices, like those shorts/tik toks where ex presidents Trump, Obama, and current president Biden play Minecraft and say stupid shit.

He’s pulling a 3 part sneaky on ya by distracting you with a question, then hitting you in the face and THEN the actual energy wave hits you from down under. Terry really incorporating street smarts in his fighting style.

The best ones for me are the 2003\XI versions of it, sounds just cooler than the other versions, in the Maximum Impact Regulation A, Wild Wolf (Garou version Terry) the light version Buster Wolf sounds different and the explosion is light blue and says "Roaring!" or something like that, while the Climax one is like always, taking half of the life bar in damage with the yellow explosion and the "Buster Wolf!" scream

So, in the original Japanese versions of SFII, Vega, Balrog, and M. Bison all had their names switched around. M. Bison was the boxer in Japan in reference to Mike Tyson. It was changed in the Americas to avoid getting sued by Tyson.
