The bodies can use the ketones as energy besides carbs and fat, so it is my understanding it spares your glycogen more because it first uses the ketones, and that can be used to improve endurance. Also it helps with better recovery. I do get some more mental clarity when I use it during running, makes me even more happy.

It doesn’t give you “extra energy” for me it gives a cleaner more balanced energy and reduces the need to rely solely on sugary carbs
