    This is a great addition to the R50 "how to" catalogue on TH-cam. I think you're the first. Well done!

    I did pretty much the same thing to my 2997 Pathfinder a few years ago.
    Sometime this year I will be installing a 70cm/2m ham radio (which will involve drilling a hole in my roof for the antenna).

      I am running a 10m radio in my 2004. Currently using a Wilson 5000 mag mount with upgraded larger/ better quality coax. May drill, who knows. Right now it performs well. Running a Stryker SR955.

    Nice job Chris!
    I usually put the GPS antenna on the dash either dead center or off to a corner (tucking the wire of course). They’ve all worked perfectly.

      @Johnny Wood, thanks, I originally wanted to put it on the rear driver-side of my R50. Unfortunately, this antenna was really short. Also the reason I decided to head this route lol.

    You convinced me to upgrade my old stereo in the Pathy Chris 😂 I’m looking forward to installing it this weekend 👍

      @Carl Billingham, that's awesome, what head unit did you decide to go with?

    I have a Kenwood head unit (single DIN), I’d love to add a backup camera with a double DIN. probably this summer.

      @Johnny Wood, it was something I had wanted to do for my R50 Pathfinder for some time now. Having a backup camera helps to make your R50 a little safer, this also makes for a fun summertime project. I say go for it. Thanks again for watching!
      Chris.

    I've got a Sony XAV Double DIN unit with Apple Carplay & Android Auto, definitely transforms the user experience. Been wanting to add an backup camera, but I was wondering how to run the wires through the hatch, please upload your video regarding it, thank you!

      @Jielin Yu, welcome to the channel, the rear hatch is going to be a challenge, but I will be sure to document it with a video. thanks again for watching!

    I have 01 Pathfinder with Bose Soundsystem. My front right speaker is out and front left speaker cuts off on bumbs and comes back on if I open and close the window. Do you think it's the amp?

    hey mate how did you connect the Antenna to the headunit? Or did you just use the Sirius one?

    • @TheCamperDanFiles
      @TheCamperDanFiles  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @AnanthSarathy, at the 11:48 mark in this video you will see a black wire just above my hand as I was connecting the Sirius XM tuner to my head unit. That's the antenna wire, I just didn't film myself connecting the antenna to the head unit. Thanks again for watching!

    I am going to do this on my 2001 pathfinder, where did you find the harness diagrams, can't find it for mine that has the Bose audio and steering wheel controls. that I want to keep

    • @TheCamperDanFiles
      @TheCamperDanFiles  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @sfrv, welcome to the channel, I too have the factory Bose in my R50 as well(minus the head unit and speakers of course) no diagram to follow as the after-market harness came with a color-coded chart as shown in the video. You're just matching the color of the wires color for color per the chart. As for retaining the steering wheel controls, this will require an adapter to keep said feature when upgrading the head unit in an R50 Pathfinder or Infiniti QX4. I hope this helps👍🏿 Thanks again for watching!
      Chris.

    What about the speakers?

    • @TheCamperDanFiles
      @TheCamperDanFiles  ปีที่แล้ว

      NeutronX101, the speakers were the first thing I replaced. I ended up going with a set of Alpine Spe-6000 6.5" 2-Way Speakers. I just never documented it with a video, as it was done before starting my TH-cam channel. Welcome to the channel and thanks again for watching!
      Chris.

    Good stuff Chris. Does the head unit have a built in GPS or is it using the satellite radio to help navigate?
