Oh my lord, his muscles are so unbelievably defined. And he has an extraordinary lung capacity; you could see his chest double in size when he takes deep inhalations after each rep of the workout.
My best mile was 4:30 and I was wearing jeans and a hoodie, 5’9” 180lbs bodyweight. I didn’t realize that was pretty good, I should have ran track in high school This looks like a good workout, I never really did anything like this besides just run a mile everyday. I’m sure it would have helped immensely though, this looks well structured
Full recovery isn’t always exactly defined and it can vary depending on how the athlete feels. I would say a minimum of 8 minutes between sets but you’re right it doesn’t specify
@@dylanfunk221 yeah he’s probably around 1:52-1:48 shape. This workout seems like a race pace workout and I think it says something like that in the desc, so just run your race pace.
800 meters is tough. You need strength and endurance and you need good kick at the end. You need good 400 meter times.Top 800 meter guys can do the 400 meters in 46/45 seconds.
Hey, this is JD the athlete in this video. As for my weekly diet, I have nothing specific other than steer away from high sugar- high fat foods. Eat enough of foods that are generally considered healthy. Training schedule is pretty much run every day except one day you choose for rest. So 6 days on each week, 3 of which are workout days 3 of which are easy run/gym/plyometric days.
Hello JD. great workout. was just wondering what the prescribed paces for the reps were. Like we’re these supposed to be @800m pace? Maybe slower? Thanks
@@clayafterson1051 makes sense, i dont see the point as the school/college crowd wont like me like they would a 400m runner and the older/distance guys wouldnt like me as they would a miler/1500m guy, for 800m you really have to have your own love for yourself

Running benefits
I love how the coach is motivating him 🖤 that's great man
I can’t believe how easy he makes this speed look. That pace is incredible and to stay relaxed and maintain good form is amazing
Wow the upper body muscles -- probably Runners need upper body workout to run fast.
I had almost similar 800mworkout but I was doing 250 ×10 with short rest😂last 250m is always painful 😂
I was doing 5x250 rec 5/6’, all out
I can feel the pain.
UNDERRATED event

You can still run at masters' track meets.
5’9 180? You were cruising for that weight
I ran 4:27 mile without much training freshman year of High School, turned into a 1:50 800m as a senior and was one of the top guys in the country
lmao no you didn't
@@jameshenry6655 Theo Woods, look me up
can you show how to train 1500 m? thanks (50 y old)
A lot of weekly mileage is important
I want to ask , how to run 800m from 4mins to 3mins?
วิ่งให้เร็วขึ้น
Train every day
Thanks, any suggestions?
How long are the breaks between sets?
So it's 2x350, 250 with full recovery between sets but how much between reps?
Looks like 150 slow walk in between runs 🤷🏽♂️
@@DaveCharles-ui6ci. Probably. But between two series?

2:17 min/km
I was talking about like the prescribed pace like 800m pace or something but thanks anyway
@@dylanfunk221 a 48 350 is around 54 400m pace so probably somewhere around 1:50 for an 800

If he did a 400 m 48 sec he def can run sub 1:50 for 800 m. I was a 1:53 runner n i did 52-54 sec for my 400 m reps when i was in peak shape...
That wasn't 400m. It was about 350.

Personal record? Age?
I think he run with Paul chemilo in practice session
What is his Pb? Sub 1:50 min?
Whats the hurdles for?
For quick turnover of the legs
I believe they are to improve form so you don't overstride.
how tall are you?
His warmups kind of look like an AI learning to run.
I hate the 800. Its not as cool as 400m and its not as hard and impressive as 1500m.
I always call the 800 as the purgatory of distances. Right in between.
