I was watching someone else before this vid and for some reason I couldn’t tell who was spawning on the platform and the guy mention every single one of them 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
These videos have helped my anxiety so much!!! Thank you! It gets a little intimidating knowing I've only played since November and others have years of experience. Between you and my partner i know i got this, or I'll just die res and do it again!
Thank you for the guide, it explained very well without rushing to make it the shortest guide and blurred out to protect spoilers. I love how you explained zashiki asobi too!! Also thank you for speaking in a humble voice not speaking like you are trying to show off or trying to be so cute, it makes this video informative and easy to watch. Thanks so much!!!
I've a few things to mention this time: First of all, I did pretty well at pronunciations here huh?(!) I mean maybe I got them all wrong but at least I didn't flub anything 🥳 Secondly, this is very likely the last video guide prefaced by Shadowbringers. I'll need to get used to saying Endwalker now. Good times were had. Thirdly Castrum Fluminis marks the last MSQ trial for Stormblood so I will now be able to swing back on Heavensward and finish of the missing 4-man dungeons which should be fun. Then I will probably move straight onto the 4-mans for Stormblood as I'm still only one trial deep in Shadowbringers so it'll be a while yet. And as a bonus Fourthly, the music in the last phase of the trial is actually pretty lit. I went straight to the marketboard to buy that orchestrion roll (Wayward Daughter) after finishing the recording for this. Anyway hope this one's useful!
thanks for this! whenever i need a guide i hope as hard as i can that you've already made one. Your intro was eight seconds and I appreciate the brevity greatly.
Thanks very much Tom. I am new to this game and so unfortunately I choose to be a paladin. I found your guide most helpful and please keep going, and save me tons of time being left to die by the dissatisfied healer.
Hey no problem! I'm happy to hear the guide helped! And Paladins are neat - though I wish they had more buttons to press. Unless I'm popping CDs it's just like 4 buttons on repeat.
watching these last stormblood guides in preparation while I wait for the data centers to become less crowded from endwalker lol. Thank you so much for this guide (and for blurring the screen for spoiler safety)!
Once again very glad I watched this. Most of it I could have figured out on my own, sure. But it's good to at least know what I am getting myself, and others, into. Thank you for the guide.
SO wish this had been out before I did this encounter the first time. Other guides didn't adequately explain the B&W floor mechanic. I knew I needed to switch from one to the other, but it wasn't clear what triggered me to do so. I presumed she would cast a spell or something, so yeah, I died so many times, I prayed the healer would just leave me on the floor in my pool of shame. For me, I also despair over too many flashing spell effects, which with this trial are centred around her. When already flustered, it's at times hard to see what's going on or even which way she's facing. I should look into seeing if there's a way to turn some of those off.
Thank you. Much appreciated. Especially blurring the spoiler section. I unfortunately had my first “bad” experience in FFXIV with this raid. Healer with a macro that said “lol dragoons. Raising you again” which ruined the moment for me. Edit: worth mentioning that they had this popping several times in the fight, another player was "Raising you, but hey at least you're not a dragoon!" Tried as I could, there were way too many effects on screen and I could not see the fans when they appeared. So I was too late to react the first time. Second death I was part of the stack up attack, but it only killed me for some reason. I don't know what I did wrong. I tried my best. I dunno. New players beware on this one.
No worries 👍 Forget the healer, those macros are annoying. Also people take hits on this fight regularly with the fans so I wouldn't worry too much about getting clipped. It takes time to get used to them and even as I say in the video, sometimes you basically can't avoid a hit. Stack up death could have been due to low health if not enough people were stacking up. Gear scaled players will probably have enough to survive some 'too large' hits but people doing this content for the first time will have less luck - but again you can't control other people so what can you do. You were trying your best so that's all that matters. Keep up the good fight!
@@TomScottDoesStuff Thank you, you’re a good person. I’ll try to forget about the macro thing. It felt very embarrassing, but I will be back on my feet soon, and onto the next MSQ.
Thank you for the guide. This one seems to be a fairly unpopular fight based on queue times (average 16 min on Saturday at noon). Hope I don't have to wait too long. edit: It worked out just fine, we cleared first try. Three DPS died to the fans, but it was alright.
Hmm well I would be lying if I said maybe. Most EXs are done unsynced to make them far easier. Also because I pug every encounter, the harder the fight is the more I need to rely on my team being strong enough - which would only get harder if I tried to sync EXs. Maybe if I had more time to play and could organise them with my FC but that's just not possible at the moment. If you need an EX it's better to try and unsync it and if you're doing EXs of current content then decent enough guides will surely exist already. Anyway, glad you like the guides and sorry 😅
I remember learning this in real time during the literal first hour of the patch being dropped. I also remember a DRG being UPSET that people haven't learned the mechanics WITHIN AN HOUR OF IT BEING DROPPED.
Thank you Tom. The blurred out spoiler section was very thoughtful.
No problem!

No problem! And remember, if you don't die then the programmers added res for no reason 😥

Finally! Someone explained the stacks clearly! Thank you!
Great guide, as expected and ty for avoiding spoils. I actually care a bit about the story w/this one❤
No worries, enjoy the story :)

Dude, love to see you still doing guides. Another great job!👍
Thanks Alex, glad to hear it!
Your guides are lifesavers, thank you so much!
No worries! Glad to help 👍
Thank you, yours are always the guide I look for first to ease my tank-xiety and not go in blind.
Hey no worries. Good luck 👍

2 weeks and I'm still waiting. The queues are real 😢
This fight gave me the feels.

Hey no worries! Sorry for the late reply 😅
Aye! The king is back... I love watching your guides, genuinely helpful and genuinely funny
Yeah boiii. Glad to hear it, thanks!
I’ve watched a few videos on this now and yours is the best at explaining it. Well done and thanks!
Nice! I'm glad you found this one clear 🥳
It is the best :)
THANK YOU, this guide was perfect and we cleared this on first try!
Great work!

I think there's a way to reduce spell effects (and I'm pretty sure I have this on) but I can't find where in the settings it is at the moment 🤔
Thank you. Much appreciated. Especially blurring the spoiler section.

@@acefire0005 I know it smarts, but a player whose attitude to others is like that really isn't worth losing sleep over.
I enjoyed this guide.

Hey nice. I can see you've been making good progress since this trial as I scroll down my unanswered comments but good going!
Thank you for this! It has helped me to die only twice during my first time yesterday :D
Epic guide! :D
Love your guides! Could you also do some EX trial guides?
Hmm well I would be lying if I said maybe. Most EXs are done unsynced to make them far easier. oh i'm gonna die a lot...
Did you died?
Go go go!
I remember learning this in real time during the literal first hour of the patch being dropped.
I also remember a DRG being UPSET that people haven't learned the mechanics WITHIN AN HOUR OF IT BEING DROPPED.
I mean a DRG can learn their mechanics in about 3 mins depending on how fast they can hit the ground.
god those fan aoes are annoying as hell when you're almost as blind as a bat, managed to only die to them once though :P thanks for the great guides!
Didn't know zakk Galifianakis was in the game. Lmao
It's a secret 🤫
