You can absolutely substitute food colouring with dye based ink refills. I forgot to mention in this video that. In my last one i had mentioned you can use them, but i chose not to as they're so much more expensive and i like to keep them for inking up my ink pads. But as long as they are dye based re inkers they will totally work!
I was lucky enough to go to a yard sale a few years ago. Got about 40 or so jars of mica powder for less than $5. I will have FUN ! Thanks so much, Sasha. Beautiful cards! 😊
Sasha, I love this idea with mica powders. I also really love the embossing folders, especially the one with the circles/planets ! The sunflower card is stunning. 🌻 Thank you for all the beautiful cards & great hints. 😊👋
Sasha, I love your technic, I will try it. If I try it, I will post it in your Facebook page. When I want to relax, I just go in TH-cam and search for your tutorials because I know that you always have some great technics to share. Happy Birthday to your mother in law ❤️. Thank you for sharing your new stuffs.
Thank you. I love your DIY recipes. You do a great job teaching us how to make our own stuff for much less. I love the idea of food coloring instead of re-inkers.
I don’t comment much on videos, but WOW, everything, WOW! Love the technique, love that it is affordable and easy! And your cards are absolutely beautiful!!! Thanks for sharing! You do great videos, will definitely be sharing this! Take care!
I watch a lot of your videos and especially love your diy supplies, like this one. I think you are an amazing card maker and truly appreciate the time and energy you put into making your videos. Thanks so much for this great diy....Sandy
Thank you so much Sandy, you have no idea how much your words mean. Ive been feeling really discouraged lately and im struggling to keep positive. My subscribers seem to go down more than up at the moment. Since i posted this video last night im down 2 subscribers and have gained none. I just seem to be stuck going no where in my TH-cam career :( Thank you for encouraging me
lovely cards and technique!! 😍 I have been doing something similar, but, it's more subtle. I have put some rubbing alcohol into a spray bottle, with some mica powder, take any coloured cardstock and spray that onto the cardstock. then seal it with a spray sealer so the mica stays put. it's very pretty as well 😁
yep, that's 100% another way to do it, i have a video on making your own shimmer sprays and shimmer pens and it's quite similar to your technique. Mica powder is so much fun to play with isnt it! Love it
Man am I so GLAD that I found your channel by accident! I searched for something else and you popped up and I just love your videos!! I already have that food coloring because you recommended in another video so that is awesome!
Oh thank you so much for your kind words. Ive been feeling so discouraged lately as i seem to lose more subscribers than gain so im starting to feel like i must suck :( Thank you for leaving me a lovely message
Oh gosh NO! I watch EVERY video that comes out and I even seek out ones I have not seen before!! I LOVE your photo paper videos went seeking photo paper from FB “market place” and I got a bunch of PVA glue given to me and I can not wait to try that technique!! I’m so sorry you are feeling discouraged! I just love your happy demeanor as well please keep up the hard work it means a lot to me!!
I love pearlescent cardstock. Always buy whenever I can find a great price but this is becoming rare. I can't wait to try your technique, especially on embossing folders. Thanks so much for doing the trials then sharing the best way to use.
Oh Sasha, I LOVE all of these cards but especially the Purple one with the script embossing. Thank you as always for your great videos. I will definitely give it a try. 😘
You amaze me with all your creativity, some of the ideas you share I would never think of doing. All your cards are beautiful. I love the merry Christmas stamp it’s really pretty. Your mother in laws birthday card came out beautifully. Thanks Sasha.
Fabulous idea, Sasha!! I am actually waiting on an order from Craftstash of different colors of pearlescent card stock. But saving this video to try your idea once I start running out again. Thanks for sharing. ❤
Oooooooh, I love your DIY pearlescent card! How incredibly clever. I think it was particularly effective on the embossed card because the embossing disguises the streaks. Love the cards you made, too. ❤
Wow, such beautiful cards!! I never knew you could buy mica that way, must investigate here in the US for a source. I am thinking that maybe I could combine this with some of the pastes I have just sitting around to use them up as well!- TYVM for this inspiration and terrific demo🧑🏼🎨🌻
I love you, girl! You always give me these great ideas. Fantastic ideas and even better cards. Wish you and your loved ones the best always. Greetings from Morelia México
Thank you so much for your amazing words of encouragement! And wow Mexico, ive only been once would so love to go again. Im not very good with geography, i hope you werent effected by the recent hurricane? Keep safe, Sasha

Gorgeous cards & paper-I don’t have food coloring, so going to use my dye ink refills! Why wouldn’t alcohol ink refills work? Thanks for sharing your creativity❣️

I debated it but i felt like i would have probably lost a lot of product to the brayer and my surface that id need to roll it on, and the clean up would have been a lot more and switching between colours would have been more time consuming than just a sponge. So my lazy mindset didnt try it :)

I wouldnt just because it would likely react funny to the glue. You tend to want to stick to water based products if mixing with water based. I havent given it a go, but i dont think it would react well or mix well with the glue. If you give it a go let me know :)
Yep! Anything with mica in it is going to work. Those will work great, you can probably add some food colouring of the same colour to enhance the colour as well

Awesome technique! I have a bunch of small pressboard things that I'm going to try it with.
Brilliant! have a fun time :)
Wow these are amazing Sasha, I have a lot of mica powders, hopefully they will work the same without the food colouring
they will work, you will just have a more softened colour. If you want a deeper colour then adding food colouring or ink refill will work :)
I was thinking of using reinkers since I don’t have any food coloring around.
