Also I don't remember if I ever mentioned it here, but I used to work in a thrift store. They get tons of photo paper in, at thrift stores. Thus, a very cheap way to supply our needs.😅
OMG girl! You have literally blown me away! I've always used photo paper for my alcohol inks, but never THIS ! You know you have created a monster here! I have the paper, I have the oxides...I may never come out of the craft room again! Thank you for sharing your creativity and passion with us! I liked and subscribed cuz I gotta stick with you now!
Wow, Sasha, these are AWESOME!!! And thank you for sharing that you can "clean" Distress Oxides on photo paper with just water & a cloth. I've seen it done with a baby wipe, but I hate to keep throwing baby wipes into the landfill (ultimately) and, since I rarely use them for anything else, they end up drying out in the package, so I have to throw those out without even having used them. And don't even get me started on the plastic packaging they come in. :P Anyway, you have just saved me loads of woe, so again - thank you! :) I am STILL making holiday cards, so I don't have time just to "play" right now - not that making cards is dull work and not fun. There is a light at the end of the tunnel with that project, though, as I'm almost done! :) But I'll definitely keep this technique in mind for future crafting. Anyway, thank you once again for sharing this. Love all your backgrounds. I hope things settle down for you all soon. Take care, & have a wonderful day! :)
Thank you, Sasha! I love how you get excited to share your creative finds. Please, please, please take care of your family. We will do our best to take care of you & that darn algorithm.😊
As much as this technique is a delight to behold, it’s ever more a treat to view YOU demonstrating it! The joy in your soul comes through the airwaves and is contagious!! Thank you for sharing both with me! 🙏 ‼️
Wow… amazing cards. I can’t wait to try this. So happy for you that you are able to stay home with your children and this is your job…. Well your second job… lol. Our family comes first. Thank you for sharing your talents with us.❤
MIND BLOWN WIDE OPEN! I have stacks of 4 x 6 glossy and satin photo paper just sitting around. Tomorrow the gloves go on (literally) and backgrounds will be made! So many thanks!
ha ha i love comments like this, make my day! Hope you have fun, if you look at the play list there are a ton of other ideas ive discovered on there :)
Backgrounds are my favourite creative outlet. This technique will make lively hearts for the hundred Valentine's I do for an aged care facility. Thanks for the inspiration!
Eye opener for sure, Sasha. This one is going to be saved and enjoyed over and over!! Thank you so much for sharing. Hope your water and computer woes get resolved soon.
What a ‘WOW’ technique! I love how these came out. Thanks so much for sharing. Also, I’m sorry for how difficult life has been for you lately. Hang in there.
An amazing look with all the inks on the photo paper. Colours are SO vibrant. I can see the necessity for gloves lol We have not had much snow in central Ontario but some coming tonight. Hope your Mum is well . Love does travel miles to keep in touch when you are far apart.🎄
This reminds me of what we used to do decades ago with glossy card stock. It was all the rage back then and I still have a ton of it. I can’t remember if you tried this technique with glossy paper versus photo paper. I have both to use up lol so I’ll give it a go!
Sasha, thank you for sharing these ideas. I struggle with making masculine cards and I think I will try some of these ideas and see which one works best! Thank you for sharing.
WOWZA!!!! I have so much photo paper, and this has got to be the absolute best way I’ve ever seen to use it!!! I use it mostly for alcohol inks but now I can’t wait to try these techniques!!! Thank you so much for sharing it with us! ❤🤗
WOW! WOW!! WOW!!! Love this technique!!! When I print some of my photos, I keep the photo paper scraps and now I will use them for your technique. Thank you for sharing this. I love your videos and crafting style. Take care and Happy Holidays to you and your family!!!
These are amazing! I absolutely love the results!! After doing mass production of Christmas cards I am ready to play with paper and inks. This technique is on the top of my list to try. Thanks so much for sharing your videos. I always look forward to watching them!

Wow, awesome video! I have so much photo paper that didn't get used over the years and now I know what I can do with it. I did not know you can wipe away the chalky layer of distress oxides, amazing. Thanks for sharing!
yes and it's beyond satisfying! Photo paper is so resilient! it really can take a lot, i was scared the first time i used water on it and then realised it just copes! it's amazing magic paper
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Really excited to see that you had posted this. I have rewatched it and taken notes. All stocked up on photo paper (and also food colouring.) Hope this week is better for you than last week!!
I love your channel and am so sorry it has slowed. I enjoy your creative ideas and content. I am happy for you that your channel allows you to be a stay-at-home momma ❤ That is a rare and beautiful thing!! Going back to your channel slowing down, sadly, I think TH-cam messes with great channels like yours! Keep up the great work!!
@@SashaReade, it’s the humidity Sasha, it’s been really high the last few days. Hopefully the temp will drop to around 27° in a couple,e of days. I come from Sth Yorkshire originally, so also have a bit of both worlds.
Great techniques. I’ve used alcohol inks on photo paper but don’t think i would ever have thought to do the stencil on then cover with oxides technique. But now I can’t wait to try.
This is so cool! I’m not a big fan of oxides and always regret buying the first pack that came out because of the chalky finish. This technique takes the chalkiness away completely! I love it! Thank you for the technique and inspiration 💕☺️😍😍😍
I'm loving this. Can't wait to give it a try. ❤ I just got my shipment from Amazon with food coloring to try your last technique. Now I just have to find the time. Thanks so much. Your enthusiasm is contagious.
These are amazing 😊 I want to suggest that can you kindly mention the names of stencils, folders, and especially ink names in the pinned comment. It helps us, who r visually disabled and can not read the ink names in the video. Thanks 😊
Thank you Hilary, we are getting there. My daughter had another huge op on her tummy and got home last week. She's recovering so well, im a big proud mommy
@@SashaReade so glad she’s recovering well! I hope she doesn’t need anything else and she just needs to heal! Poor thing! ❤️❤️❤️ Sending hugs! Very gentle hugs!

Yes! I was going to suggest thrift stores! I have a large stash of photo papers that I got super cheap from thrift stores!
Holy smokes. I see photo paper in the thrift stores all the time and never knew what to do with it!!! I’m so excited to find these ideas.
If you didn't know, Tim Holtz has a Distress Micro Glaze which seals in the oxide layer, and also allows you to add more color over it.
I think I've seen a DIY recipe for this also on YT. Apparently it's cheap and easy to make.
Wow 🤩 … some of the gorgeous two coloured with stencils remind me of batik fabric! ❤
Oh yes!!!! That's totally what they looked like
Oh my gosh!!! I think the stencil technique with the oxides is my favorite!!!!! 🤩
OMG girl! You have literally blown me away! I've always used photo paper for my alcohol inks, but never THIS !

Please make these into cards! I can’t wait to see where you go with them!!!😊
Ha ha i will im sure, but i'll probably pop them on instagram. Are you on there?
I just tried a few pieces using Distress Oxides, and for some reason the Cracked Pistachio color wipes right off! And I love that color so much.
I cannot wait to try this. Thanks for taking time out of your busy life.
Sasha, thank you for sharing these ideas. I struggle with making masculine cards and I think I will try some of these ideas and see which one works best! Thank you for sharing.
