A preschool would absolutely adore the leftovers after you cut out the ovals! I send my offcuts to preschool. Put them in a nifty gift box you just happen to have and they'll love you forever! My last one was plain black...
Instead of dabbing off with a tissue on the ones that looked like too much ink, I'd have taken a blank card front and kissed the 2 together so no wasted ink! Two-fer.
I would take those panels that had the cutouts and make them into shaker cards! They all turned out so gorgeous - I even said WOW out loud a couple of times!! Thanks for sharing a fun technique.
Just love your colours! You seem to do a lot with purples and blues....right up my alley! Your cards and tags turned out beautifully. Time for this girl to try some techniques I've learned from you! Thank you!
Nice background and cards. You can use Tim Holtz microGlaze to seal the finish and still be able to easily stamp on it. Plus, if there is any dullness in your finish, it brightens it right up🦋
BLESS YOU for wearing gloves and owning up to it! My card making friends always make fun of me for wearing gloves but I am just not into inky fingers. I am happy to have found a fellow card maker that actually wears gloves. Your video is awesome! I love that technique and will try it out tomorrow! ❤
ha ha, when it's messy like this, i feel like gloves are necessary, honestly you can get so stained. I reuse mine over and over until holes appear. id rather use gloves than be covered for days in strong colours. :)
@@SashaReade I'm the exact same way! I also reuse my gloves over and over. And some things like the Brusho crystals will stay on your hands for days and days! I am so happy to have found a like-minded card maker 🤗💜
Great video. Some ideas - When punching out the ovals, do it as far as you can to one side and you will have enough left to make a tag or a side panel for a new card. The ones you have cut the ovals from the centre could be put on a card and stamp a sentiment in the middle and place one of your bows at the top or bottom with a bit of greenery to look like a wreath frame. Hope that all makes sense tfs
Hi. I can see why you liked the photo paper version so much, just look at that glossy shine! The only thing I have is the embossing ink and a small amount of photo paper so I can't see me being able to produce any works of wonder like yous yet! 😂 They're all gorgeous, thank you so much for sharing this outstanding video and have a fabulous day.😊
I bet you'll be surprised and will make such awesome backgrounds. Charity shops are amazing for finding photo paper. I found 2 packs of 100 sheets of A4 last week. So awesome
Thank you so much Sasha, I really really enjoyed watching you creating these beautiful and stunning cards. Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags ❤❤❤❤
Great video! I love the light blue with the red areas. I can see candy canes going on that one! I did one on photo paper years ago and it was beautiful! Thanks for the motivation and exceptional directions 🤗
I've only just seen this video, and it's great! I hope I can retain everything until I'm able to play, once we're past Christmas, when peace lands in my home again. Background stamps! It took me ages to buy any, as I'd made my own mixture from the little stamps that most sets include, especially anything to do with flowers and foliage. Either I'd leave them on an acrylic block for a while before changing them around, for making a lot of bases, or use my platform for a day's worth. I liked mixing them up, which of course can't be done with a proper background stamp. Have a happy Christmas, everyone! A better year ahead would be good, too 😘🌻
This is simply incredible with the photo paper. I have purchased photo paper but never tried to use it. Thank you for trying it and the effects that you get are amazing, I love them all. 😊😮
Thanks for doing this, l’m going to grab my mica powders & get to smooshing! I agree, it is addicting & hard to stop once you get started playing with color combinations. Bravo!!! 👍🏼👏🏻🙏🏻💖
Hey Sasha. I've just spent a few hours playing with some random shiny paper/card and Luscious Powders from Indigoblu. I'm waiting for them to dry but I like the results so far and you were right, lots of fun. Thanks as always. I love your videos.
Insanely addictive isnt it! I LOVE photo paper. Ive got some more ideas coming as well, i havent stopped playing or buying more photo papers online ha ha
I was stunned by the photo paper results! Absolutely fantastic!!! I have had photo paper in my stash forever, but never tried it. I think it’s matte and I originally wanted to try blending on it. It was paper I couldn’t use, but will try glossy. Just loved this! Brilliant!
Thanks so much for the inspiration, Sasha! I have done all of the techniques to make unique backgrounds, but I never have known what to do with them. I loved all the ways you used them and look forward to trying some similar ideas.
I saw this on the Wow video you did and had to come over and see what else you are doing with photo paper. I have tons of this stuff and love using it to make cards.
Really interesting Sasha, thank you so much for the tutorial. You can cut another panel, perhaps a circle or hexagon and cover that central hole where you've die cut the creative expressions oval. Perhaps hexagons topped with snowflakes?
I'm so so glad I found your channel. I've learned so much from you in the short time I've been watching. All good, by the way.😂 I do love this technique. And I believe you can use glossy cardstock if you can't get photo paper.
I loved this video. It helps me decide what types of inks and paper I would like to use. You even addressed the haze from the distress inks on the photo paper. And all the cards you made were fantastic. You said it only took you 4 hours to make them... man you are good , I would be at it all week. Love your videos. Hope your daughter continues to do well. Hugs.
Ha ha no i didnt! took me 4 DAYS! ha ha. I spent 4 days playing and having fun making backgrounds. It doesnt take long to make them but i just couldnt put it down. Had so much fun :) You should really give it a go, im sure you'll love it. Thank you so much for watching and hanging out
This is my first time seeing one of your videos and I’m thrilled and have subscribed! Alcohol inks are one of my most favorite medium to work with. You have just fabulous results. I’m just laying here on the couch drinking hot tea and loving your ideas. What a lovely thing to do on a Sunday afternoon….get inspired by someone who loves creating. I am so looking forward to viewing further wonderful creations you make!!!
Awe, thank you so super much for your kind words. You've made my day! Thank you for taking the time out of your day to share your lovely. thoughts. I hope you have a go, it's so easy and satisfying
Ooooh…I love this! Never thought of using photo card. Just checking it out on Amazon for Canada, quite reasonable price for 100 4x6 cards. I wasn’t sure about cutting them until I saw your gorgeous creations. Thanks for wonderful tutorial. On watercolour paper I might heat emboss then smush the inks. 😊❤️🇨🇦. I’ve added ultra premium photo paper to my wish list. 100 sheets for $31
i bet you could get them for less than that! i paid £10 which is about $15-18 cdn(im from edmonton originally) so please look around, just find a good quality photo paper and you;ll be set! Honestly you dont need the exact one i got, just a highish quality one and i bet you'll be fine :)
You're such a clever crafter Sasha! I would have assumed the stamped background would need to be embossed to get that resist effect (which I guess would have ruled out using the photo paper). The results you got were beautiful, the photo paper really is like magic with the inks. Thanks for sharing with us. I look forward to seeing how you create more cards from your beautiful stash of prints. ❤
A preschool would absolutely adore the leftovers after you cut out the ovals! I send my offcuts to preschool. Put them in a nifty gift box you just happen to have and they'll love you forever! My last one was plain black...
Oh dont worry, school gets soooooooo much from me ha ha. I also keep bundles and give them to the kids next door to craft with as well.
Instead of dabbing off with a tissue on the ones that looked like too much ink, I'd have taken a blank card front and kissed the 2 together so no wasted ink! Two-fer.
That was my thought too. 😊
yes should have done that shouldnt i :)
Me too, no wasting inks in my studio! lol...
The most beautiful backgrounds I’ve ever seen!
Your technique makes lovely Christmas cards.
I would take those panels that had the cutouts and make them into shaker cards! They all turned out so gorgeous - I even said WOW out loud a couple of times!! Thanks for sharing a fun technique.

Hey girls! I'm late to the party but for whatever it's worth, dish soap and/or shampoo will take ink off your fingers/hands in no time!
🤩 wow… what an awesome idea and technique.
These are truly amazing. Thank you for sharing this.
Sasha, so glad to see you on Wow's channel. Way to go! This is a brilliant idea.
