There are some important strategy pointers that are not covered in this 12 minute video. One of which is that while it is helpful to mark an X to show your cards and the cards you are shown it is even better to use a separate column for each player so that you know who showed you a particular card. It's also helpful to use a different mark, like an O or - when someone cannot show you cards during a suggestion. This can lead to you deducing the suspect, weapon and room faster than other players.
Thank you!! My 13 year old asked for Cludo for their birthday and I was worried I couldn't play 2 player (loan parent so there's just tje 2 of us). but you described the entire game so well. . Can't wait to play them now. 😊
Thank you so much for the explanation. I recently purchased The Golden Girls version of clue. It is a little different than the original Clue, but there are a lot of things that are the same.
The 2 player rule u said is wrong the 4 extra cards are put in 4 random separate rooms and if u enter that room that has a card u take a peek at that card.
Another strategy worth using occasionally.....when making a suggestion, name a person, weapon and room that you already have. You'll waste a turn but confuse your opponent(s).
Also, you didn't mention that all tokens are put on the board no matter how many damn players you have, Miss Scarlett goes first (ladies first shit, I suppose) and you might've implied it, but just to make sure, you do not have to be in the room you mention when you make an accusation. Also, you can use your own token when you make a suggestion for a suspect as well as a spare one, plus let's say your token is brought into a room for a suggestion by another player. You on your turn can stay in the room and make a suggestion of your own.
I always thought there should be an 8-player version since there is 2 extra starting locations nobody used. 8-player mode would be assured 3 cards for each player (8 characters + 6 weapons +10 rooms /3)
We love original clue but the Harry Potter Version is even more fun (the secret passages change and dorrs become locked)- we're going to try the 2 player version to see if it works!
1. When we use super passage then do we get to make suggestions immediately? Say when we enter lounge we make a suggestion. Then in nect turn we go to Conservatory. Can we make a suggestion there immediately? 2. Can we use the closed doors also to get in and get out? Thanks
So you put each weapon in a different room... let’s say the rope is in the kitchen, I know I have to say the kitchen since that is the room I’m in. But do I need to say the rope? (I just play where we put all the weapons in the centre room. And can pick any weapon in any room)
I'm sure you found the answer since u asked a year ago, but to my understanding u can suggest any weapon and person for whatever room you are in. They are just placed randomly supposedly 1 in each room, but when you are making a suggestion for the room you are in you move the person and the weapon from your suggestion to that room as part of your suggestion. So on that person's next turn, they will start in that room with you, but im not sure if the weapon stays there until someone else guesses it or if it goes back to the original room. I don't see that it would mess anything up for u to just leave them in the middle of the board or whatever though.
No the player in your left shows you a card if he/she has no card it goes to he or she's left and so on until some has a card or no one has the card, also if a player shows you a card the other players dont need to show you a card. Hope this helps :)
If the next player have the card that I have suggested and shown me ...does the next next player also have to show his card if he has the suggested card? Please reply
if you get a light to shine on your back, (aka a backlight) like even a cheap overhead florescent light from home depot it'll get rid of the green screen reflection around your head and body. -sincerely, a broadcasting a major.
Question…..he made a suggestion of Mr. Mustard in the ballroom with whatever.. After it’s discovered it’s not Mr. Mustard…does mr. Mustard go back to his original spot, or does he stay in the ballroom?
So when you make a suggestion, do you move the suggested character's pawn into your room? Then does that person who owns that character play from that room on his/her next turn?
I believe the only move you can make without rolling is using the secret passage between the corner rooms. Although you can also use your turn to make a suggestion in a room if you were brought in there since your previous turn.
I still dont understand one rule. If Mrs White makes a suggestion that Mr Plum is the murder on the Hall, she will move Mr Plum from his current location to the hall right, what happens when is Mr Plum turn to role the dice? Does he goes back where he was, or he needs to start again from the Hall, which Mrs White suggested he killed?
I play Clue/Cluedo very rarely..... but whenever i do, i need to search how to play and this was the most accurate one i have found so far

Thank you!!! This was by far the most accurate one! And I have been watching other videos but this one is the best one! Thanks!

Your the first person who clarified u need atleast 3 players. Everyone else said 2 but then u could never make an accusation with 2
2play rules @11:00 yall welcome
Thank you so much for the 2 player rules! I've played this game for ages, never with 2 players though.
Keep in mind that this is an older version of Clue.
Thank you! I will be playing this on family game night!
William Elizalde Awesome! So are we!
How exciting it sounds like a very gay night. It makes me smile to see people actively staying positive and doing gay activities. How lively!
And I have two versions with the poison chalice, which I'd likely deal 5 cards to the dummy hand in a two player. Adds more dimension.
Another strategy worth using occasionally.....when making a suggestion, name a person, weapon and room that you already have. You'll waste a turn but confuse your opponent(s).
Ilove clue, this game here in Brazil is called detective and the new version takes place in a city instead of a mansion, both versions are good.
Also, you didn't mention that all tokens are put on the board no matter how many damn players you have, Miss Scarlett goes first (ladies first shit, I suppose) and you might've implied it, but just to make sure, you do not have to be in the room you mention when you make an accusation. thank you for this. We bought the game online and haven't been able to play D: you saved us!
Clue master detective is a bigger game with many more cards. How about a 2 player rule for that version???
Thank you so much me and my mom were clueless 😂! Without u we probably would have sold clue
We love original clue but the Harry Potter Version is even more fun (the secret passages change and dorrs become locked)- we're going to try the 2 player version to see if it works!
Thank you so much for the 2 player rules
That was really well said. Easy and straight forward
Very clear explanation of the rules--thank you!
1. When we use super passage then do we get to make suggestions immediately?
Say when we enter lounge we make a suggestion. Then in nect turn we go to Conservatory. Can we make a suggestion there immediately?
2. Can we use the closed doors also to get in and get out?
Thanks
Yes to both
Yes yes n no
So simply and well explained. Thankyou so much
Great video. Love the game. Thank you for the good content. Cheers.
Excellent video, thanks!
Can't do it with 2 players, as we will crossout same things
Thx it really helped me learn how to play
So you put each weapon in a different room... let’s say the rope is in the kitchen,
I know I have to say the kitchen since that is the room I’m in. But do I need to say the rope? (I just play where we put all the weapons in the centre room. And can pick any weapon in any room)

do we have to get 6 on dice to get into the room??
No. So long as your roll is enough to get you into a room, you may enter it.
Raised my eyebrow at the "super simple game" remark. Haha! Sorry for being clueless.
Wonderful tutorial!🤗
I was playing the online version and only allow to one player show cards...is the same with all the real games???
No the player in your left shows you a card if he/she has no card it goes to he or she's left and so on until some has a card or no one has the card, also if a player shows you a card the other players dont need to show you a card. Hope this helps :)
Also remember that if a player has more than one card that fits your suggestion they only need to show you one
@@barnacles8037 and they can show you the same one they've shown you before
If the next player have the card that I have suggested and shown me ...does the next next player also have to show his card if he has the suggested card? Please reply
No. As soon as one person showed you one of their cards, the disproving process ends immediately and the next player goes
Why didn't you show us what the cards actually were in the envelope?
Can I move any other Character into a room for a suggestion, which is being used/moved by another player?
Yes
Thanks this helps sooooo much!!!!
thank for teaching
if you get a light to shine on your back, (aka a backlight) like even a cheap overhead florescent light from home depot it'll get rid of the green screen reflection around your head and body. -sincerely, a broadcasting a major.
Yeah. Thanks. It's in the works...
Question…..he made a suggestion of Mr. Mustard in the ballroom with whatever.. After it’s discovered it’s not Mr. Mustard…does mr. Mustard go back to his original spot, or does he stay in the ballroom?
Stay in the ballroom
What if there's already a player in a room, Can I enter that same room?
yes, of course.
Thank you so much!
Thank you very much, it was useful
Thank you so much! Sooooo helpful!
Thank you!
So when you make a suggestion, do you move the suggested character's pawn into your room? Then does that person who owns that character play from that room on his/her next turn?
That's right. Then they have to try to get to where ever they were going from that new room!
There is no need to role and move in Clue. Just move your pawn from room to adjacent room.
Tyf
I believe the only move you can make without rolling is using the secret passage between the corner rooms. Although you can also use your turn to make a suggestion in a room if you were brought in there since your previous turn.

Does he goes back where he was, or he needs to start again from the Hall, which Mrs White suggested he killed?
The Plum player could start from the Hall or make a suggestion in that room.
What is the point of moving around the board just to go into a room to make a suggestion?
If no one makes suggestions, you can't narrow down the list of suspects.
GameFluent We got it. Thanks for the video. We been playing all morning. Fun.
Uh duh u wanna make suggestions thats how u weave out the innocent
Awesome
I actually know how to play clue with only 1 player
I enjoyed
dr. Body?! NUH ITS PROF. PLUM TODAY!!! ( me and my friend lost prof. Plum.. so we acting like plum dude died)
Hi
Say I make an accusation and I no one proves me wrong. Then the player left of me rolls the dice right?
Thats a suggestion an accusation is when you look at the 3 cards then the next player goes
I need you to answer a very important game play question not actually covered in the rules....
Rolls a 4, moves 3 places 🤯
👍
This does not explain a 2 player game
