My husband and I play where you put those 4 cards in random rooms and when you enter that room on your turn you can look at the card. Just another option 😊

Daniel Ruiz : the link to the hasbro website (that the maker of the video provided in the description) indicates to put the four cards to the side of the board - as shown in the video. Certainly could be other variations/releases where instructions say to put in rooms.

I don't know why people don't think you can play this with only 2 players. It works just fine this way. What you can do to make it harder is place random cards onto the rooms forcing the players to have to go there to sneak a peak at the card.

Note: some special editions of the game add in new amounts of cards (for example, the 50th anniversary edition has 7 weapons instead of six). If the amount of cards added is even, you still use four cards. If the amount added is odd, you use 5 cards so that each player has an equal amount of cards.

Also, since you're super into board games like i am, you might want to find one called "13 dead end drive". Its a trap style board game where you get to build all these really intricate and fun traps for your opponents.

Yeah I know that the 2 play rule for Clue is only for 2 players. Because I didn't have a clue how to play Clue. The instructions were easy, but as my family and I tried to get everything together for the game some more pages were missing. I tried find some instructions online and then I saw your vid and it helped me to figure out how to play it. And now that I got the instructions on how to play it with the whole family I finally get it. :)

I have a question...if there is only two players..in what scenario would the opposing player not be able to show me a card? If there is only 2 of us and I'm asking the other player for clues I don't have...if he/she can't provide me a clue to any of 1 weapon 1 room or 1 character wouldn't that mean they are in the envelope and I just won the game? I would have clearly marked off the cards I was originally dealt....so...
I picked up a Clue game at a thrift store that includes a DVD. Only difference is it has 4 topic groups, not 3. It includes time of day and 10 suspects, not 6. How many should be dealt to a third hand for 2 player rule?

So what do you do if all four of the "third player" cards are used? Put four more random cards there?
No, the rest of the cards are dealt among the two of you, except for the 3 in the envelope. So if you have looked at all the third player cards and you ask your opponent a question he can not answer (because he doesnt have this card) it should indicate that this card is in the envelope.
That's an interesting way of playing this but I have another way since I have the new board where you have a swimming pool in the middle to make an accusation. I just share the cards between my husband and me and since it is an odd number of cards, the last card is placed face down in the swimming pool area. When it's your turn you can roll the dice to get there and take a look at the card to cross it out. You then proceed the same way you would and when you have the answer, you roll your way back to the swimming pool to make the final accusation. This is way simpler and fun too.

Is very simple, before to share Clue cards between the 2 players, take 4 first cards and put in a row near of the gameboard
When in a suggestion, the opponent, cant dissprove the suggestion, the asker, take secretaly, one of that 4 cards
But exist the 1 player rule too, when almost acussasion fail:
when there is only a player, that player can chosee a room and make a final suggestion, after that, MUST make an acussasion

I like to play another way. Let me try my best to explain. deal 5 cards to each you and the other player. When you make an asumption and the other person does not have a card to show, draw a card from the top of the remaning cards and discard 1 card on the bottom of the pile. You will always have 5 cards.

why was it called Cluedo in other countries but Clue here?

i was under the impression it was a copyright thing. a single word that is already part of the lexicon (like sorry, trouble, or clue) is harder to defend legally in countries with more open IP laws. by inventing a new word, cluedo, you can legally defend your IP easier as you have invented an original word that didn't previously exist. any hat wearing cat is literally a "cat in a hat" and that would be hard to "own". where as something like "lorax" is original and can be owned by the Seuss estate in perpetuity. why take on an expensive legal battle if you dont have to?

I’ve done a similar version when playing with two people, instead of looking at one of the four when the other person can’t show you one, you can look at one of them if you rolled a double.

What about them? This video is just for the 2 player rule. Nothing else has changed.
Dan Gillette , we couldn't figure out how or where to place the tool weapons during the game.
You place them just like a 3 or 4 player game. Because the cards off to the side now technically represent a 3rd player. Without them actually being put into the game. Make sense?
