I have a CS-40M. If you're curious, at 7:57 when he tries to edit the ringmod and nothing happens, it's because he's selected a preset. When a preset is selected, the ONLY controls that will affect the sound are the controls left of the keyboard (wheels, brilliance etc). From the top of my head, I think you can also change the oscillator tuning, but that's it. You need to choose "Panel" preset, edit the sound, and then save it to preset to change a preset...

I had a Korg PS3100 back in 1980 and it could do some crazy stuff a lot like this demo. I sure wish I had it today and probably would have it but it burned up in a fire at a club I was playing at along with a Hammond, Leslie, CP80 and Mini Moog it was a bad day indeed.
No, young and dumb. The owner of the club told us that his insurance would cover any losses.Not so. We did end up suing the club owners and got 1/10th back out of the 47K lost. I have insurance now that's for sure.
On ebay, I often see old synths like that that look straight from the box. They're always coming from Japan. Maybe same source, or maybe they just take care of their equipment. Helps that they were manufactured in Japan to begin with.
You see that large-ish key at the far left of your keyboard with a light in it? That light is supposed to be off. You can turn it off by pressing the key once.
Another great heritage company reduced to selling a tape recorder box known as the Motif that simply plays recordings of great synths. If they released an analog CS-80 type of thing right now they could rescue their once great name.
I don't know...I owned this synth back in 2000 and these sounds are NOTHING like the cool THICK analog sounds that I remember. It almost seems (and looks!) like it was completely REFURBISHED which would mean many if not ALL of the Electronic Components were replaced giving this old synth the NEW Digital sounding Presets that I'm hearing on this posting?

いま、リペアしない状態で正常に稼動しているCS40Mってどのぐらいあるのでしょうか。CS20Mともにそろそろ経年故障の時期に入っていると思います。
Glissando is each note in steps between the keys played alot of old synths did this, just before glissando he does portamento, 2 different settings
SOunds like the flute from X files did Mark Snow use one of these?
Amazing synth, though that portamento sounds weird to me. It's steps up as opposed to sliding up.
Guess you solved that by now? There are both glissando(step) mode and standard glide, with a switch....
