  • Today I reforged this hammer and fully restored it! Taking it from a rust bucket to a functional tool was a fun little project! It was a good time forging out a hammer in a style that I've been thinking of for a while, and it's definitely a tool I'll be using frequently in future videos! Let me know how you felt about the new commentary-style videos in the comments, and let me know if you'd like to see those more in the future!

And as always, thanks for watching!

Nice! Rounding hammers are a great way to move steel real fast. Use the top of the horn closest to the face and hit for the fences, double the fun. A vid on a touch mark would be awesome if you have the time. Take care, Happy Holidays.

Thanks I’m always bad at taking before and after pictures so I made sure I did this time 😂

@@ToddKoch You and me both. I don't have any before videos or pictures of my last hammer restoration. I got the idea to clean it up and didn't think about filming it until I was well on my way. Lots of projects to finish still🤪

@rvhollaradventures well it’s more important in my mind to finish the project, but it’s always fun to look back on what it was!

Cool hammer, I wonder how it handles! Voice over was good but everything was a little rushed in my opinion! It's not necessarily a bad thing but you could take the time to explain things a bit more for or pause between sentences haha. Also when fitting the wedge, I personally would have used a towel or something to protect the anvil.

Sounds good, I appreciate the feedback! I’m used to editing my videos to be faster paced since I don’t normally do voiceovers, so I think if I make some adjustments it’ll be less rushed! And I appreciate the advice for protecting the anvil, haven’t tried that out yet but I’ll be sure to use it sometime!

Watched this in silence as i as dossing at work, never turned on subtitles, whats the reason for the groves you put on the hammer is it for pure aesthetics?

    • @ToddKoch

They’re just the aesthetic that I was going for! No functional use
