Shorts are mainly for SUBS, not the money. You're building a bigger audience with shorts, which will lead to more money in the future.
I thought this was true, but it isn’t. I’ve spent days comparing. Channels that are known for shorts get great views on shorts and minimum views on longer videos. And videos that are known for longer videos get less views on shorts. It’s because you’re building an audience of the opposite and trying to make that switch around is not that easy. Ppl who like shorts, like shorts and ppl who like longer videos, like longer videos

@@PoeticLadychelleMusicAndMe 5 years is way too long IMO. I was able to get monetized in about 6 months on my other channel. I know everyone preaches to be patient but I feel like a lot of people take that as “if I just stay consistent hopefully I’ll get there”. I feel like I wasted a lot of time the first 4-5 months because I was putting a lot of pressure on myself to post every other day on a consistent schedule. While this is vital for large channels, I don’t think it is nearly as important for smaller channels. As soon as I stopped worrying about the quantity and focused on the quality, I was able to get well above the requirements in about 2 months. And it only took about 4 or 5 very high quality videos. Not bragging, I just hate to see when channels keep using the same formula for years and wonder why they don’t make any progress

@certified egg see shorts have tiers but now the cap for that is fixed unlike normal youtube videos you can't earn lot of money with short unless you post 100 videos a day at it gets a lot of views you could get 1k-3k with shots. But in normal video if it goes viral the revenue generated is a lot more

It’s all about how long your video is and where your viewers are from. Different countries have different CPM. So it’s important for your watch hours in your video and how long your video is.

Shorts are just to give you attention to your channel, thus, hopefully your business, if your smart. Then you get customers, build your brand or store, build your email list, etc. You can't just count on short videos, you gotta use it as a tool to grow your business.

Minimum should be 13 minutes and above to activate your earning on TH-cam. And for 1 million views you get 10,000 USD up to 50,000 USD. Also, it depends on how long the viewers will watch the videos. For example, if they don’t watch the whole video you get less, and if they watch the whole video you get more. No guarantee. You might waste your time for nothing. There are many channels now on the battle and they almost copy each other. Unless you have something new or new idea that encourages the viewers to watch your video always. Otherwise, Just forget it and enjoy watching TH-cam for free like others.

What’s failed to be mentioned here is, this short was posted and blew up within a couple weeks in July 2021… shorts monetization came this Feb 2023.. I have about 20k views across all my shorts so far and have earned roughly $2.10. Its showing around .09-.10 cents per 1K views on my TH-cam studio right now
