This reminds me of a Giants typal deck I built once, using all proxies that were oversize 3.5"*5" (89mm*128mm). And of course, since I like oversize commander cards, my general was printed at 5"*7" (128mm*178mm). Even basic lands got that treatment. It was such a pain to shuffle that I stopped playing it, even for the laughs.
This video is reminding me how much of my almost playable bulk comes from the Vraska/Jace Duel Decks. I keep thinking "Hey, I see that card when rummaging!", only to look at the set symbol and be like "Yep, that'll do it."
Honestly had the same reaction. In recent years a lot more of them have been getting cut from my decks, but I still love some of the cards, like I love the art and foiling on the Vraska and she's still a solid card. And the Elspeth vs. Kiora made the bases for both my Soldiers kindred deck and my Simic +1/+1 counters deck when I was first getting into commander.
This is definitely an interesting deck. It might get old fast, but it would be hilarious to wait until everyone else pulls there's out and then flip over your giant sized commander and pull the tiny deck out of nowhere to play

Otrimi is unironically extremely good for the deck too. You Mutate it on top of a Deathtoucher (or Jace's Phantasm if you really need some player removal; 11 Flying Trample commander is no joke) and go quite silly. Speaking of "quite Silly", you could also mutate it onto a Spawnwrithe if you really like the idea of "When this creature deals combat damage, get a death trigger due to the legend rule". 90% of commander decks are the world's smallest commander decks because they all contain the minimum 100 cards.
...what about the other 10%?
I am upset to say that I could almost make this deck irl. Only problem would be to find the card sleeves to fit them all
Very true, though if you're feeling destructive, you could slot the cards in sideways and then slice off the excess?
I've seen people use sleeves for collecting postage stamps. Check out Commander At Home #37
I've seen people use sleeves for collecting postage stamps
I didn't even know sleeves for stamps was a thing till I started seeing people talk about it in the comments here. But it totally makes sense
What if i told you i built most of this myself.
I would think you're a genius too!
I actually went to go and buy them, and it sucks that $10 toys are reselling for 50-100. but what really sucks the most, is that I can't find the Heroes vs monster decks anywhere at all for purchase.
I've found a few but very expensive, and I think preowned. I hope they print more, and new sets too
@@RedBobcatGames any advice on where to look? Tcgplayer, ebay, and amazon didn't have the heroes vs monsters when I looked.
@@RedBobcatGames Any advice on where to look? I've checked Tcgplayer, amazon, and ebay and not found anything for the Heroes vs monster decks.
@@RedBobcatGames Where should I look for those used listings?
I tend to shop around local stores from around the country. It's a trick I learned during lock down because the big online sellers don't always have everything. But, I'm in the UK so if you're not maybe things are different here?
I want this deck and I don't even play mtg anymore, buying from the secondary market doesn't pay WotC for these products, right?
No, not even slightly. I don't even think buying this new would give WotC direct profit as they're not the ones who made it
@@RedBobcatGames Might consider buying it then. WotC doesn't deserve any money as of recently. Unfortunately bloomburrow seemed like a success, doesn't excuse their past actions and incompetence.
Oh no, completely not. 100% agree
I HAD THIS SAME IDEA
Apparently great minds think alike! I've seen many people say the same thing
Good video
Thank you
I thought maybe mimeoplasm if it was oversized, but no, otrimi is the apex choice
Thank you, thank you
do we get to see you actually play this deck? it'd be hilarious
I would love to, but sadly I don't own any of the cards. I'm REALLY hoping with more attention they'll reprint them!
I guess small cards would be easier to carry.
Very true! Harder to shuffle maybe though?
@@RedBobcatGames You can just mash shuffle.
That’s how I shuffle anyway.
Fair. I go with the whole "lay them out on the table one at a time method" which would work too (even though I know that annoys some people)
@@RedBobcatGames Yeah I do that as well. Ten piles, wiffle the individual piles together. Then half the deck and mash.
Is this a new format 🤔
I mean, it could be! I think that would be great actually!
Unfortunately these videos skyrocketed the cost of the decks, now they're each over $50
I dislike it, but it's also weirdly a compliment
Did I miss some recent lore?
Jase is a R'pe vict!m and Vraska is the R'pist, why say they should be together as lovers?
Well perhaps I've missed some old lore, but it was my understanding that they were into each other now and raising their adopted child
@@RedBobcatGames they must have reconciled. Before he became Living Guildpact, he was mindr'ped by a sphinx, then her, then he went insane before gaining power in Ravnica.
Ahhh. I've never really followed Jace that much. His main character syndrome kind of puts me off. It's why I stopped reading Bloomburrow honestly. The moment the quest turned into Ral chaing him down I lost interest. THE ONLY TIME I've liked Jace was when he went to Innistrad and didn't stop talking about his rad new coat. I can respect a man that likes a coat
@@RedBobcatGames most of his obnoxious behavior stems from his past experiences.
It's in fairness not the character so much, but the fact the world seems to revolve around him. Why is the first time that see Bloomburrow only because Jace has bothered to go there? Why is the first time we saw Thunder Junction just because Jace bothered to go there? Same was true of Ixalan as I remember. If he's in bloody Duskmourn I'm going to be annoyed
Shame there's not enough of the oversized cards to make a jumbo deck.
I mean, there's like a couple of hundred of them according to Scryfall. If true, I'm going to look into doing exactly that at some point
@@RedBobcatGames Oh really, I didn't realize that, I only thought there were handful that used be included for like older commander precons.
So there's like 200 or something classified as "Oversized". But, before I make a deck around them I want to do some reasearch and make sure they're all actually the same oversize, because otherwise the deck just won't work
Didnt ben brode play this tiny deck in a video?
Statistically the chances of that are very low, but not impossible
so, a tinyleaders deck...
Haha, very good
Oooh tiny man
Big man mutated onto one too
Why don’t the video have actual trying to play with deck tho
Bait clicked again
I don't own the cards
"I don't claim any ownership over this decklist"
lmao, what? Is that actually a thing people try to pull?
Nah I just had like a bunch of people ask permission in the last video if they could like upload it to different websites and stuff. AND I saw in the comments of other videos that reference it people saying things like "You stole this from The Red Bobcat", and I'm like... chill guys. You can't steal an idea, you know?
Ahh yes, your tiny cards deck playing against your reading is for losers deck, both of which I really want to make 10:58
looking forward to you eventually having a four player pod of all you ludicrous deck ideas
4 players? I've got a list of about 12 decks to make. The next deck I was planning on doing is called "Maximum Cardboard", but I joked in another comment here about a Relentless Rats deck idea and now... I'm kind of smitten
@@RedBobcatGames They Locked Me In A Room. A Rubber Room. A Rubber Room With Rats. And Rats Make Me Crazy, loool although maximum cardboard whatever that is sounds like it'd be interesting too
I'll get to them in time (unless I get distracted of course haha)
First
Second?
😮💨 theses decks are so neat but reading them is work i wish they were 'more' playable 🥲
I suppose you get all the cards in normal size, and then just try playing with them while wearing REALLY thick gloves to make your hands look bigger in comparison
