Also I believe all the Multiverse Legends from Kaladesh are actually marble statues depicting the person in the card (cus they're using the 'masterpiece' frame reserved for artifacts), which is why she's randomly white. The thing I'd like to know more is why her daughter is white when both she and her husband clearly aren't.

He looks a lot more white in his original art for Gideon Jura and its not till later that hes more tan and clearly mediterranian after they decided he was from Theros. I assume Chandra just had more appearances at that point though so subtly shifting her design would have been more obvious.

Btw, the Pia Nalaar on that one card looks that way because it's a gilded marble statue of her. They wanted to use the _Masterpieces_ frame for legends from Kaladesh on the _Multiverse Legends_ bonus sheet of the set _March of the Machine,_ but it's a bit weird calling people "masterpieces", so they conceptualized what statues made in tribute to their legacy would look like.

The card isn't depicting a robot / statue of her, like Avacyn's Memorial is a statue of Avacyn for instance. That Masterpiece card is literally depicting her. That's meant to be her in the picture, and yeah they got her skin colour wrong. That's weird
@@RedBobcatGames she's supposed to be a statue infused with æther in the art. Constructs on Kaladesh have a very particular filigree aesthetic, which the art doesn't match. It's provably not a depiction of Pia Nalaar the person, as it matches the aesthetic of Reyav and Ragavan in the same style, and they, too, appear to be statues. Baraal is depicted as himself, but he is an Aetherborn, so a living machine of sorts. On top of that, the artist for the card is Asian themself, so I highly doubt it was some sort of covert attempt to whitewash the character. I get that the person who responded to you was unnecessarily snide, but please don't double down on your stance when presented with contrary evidence to your claim.

But, I also knew people would want to chat between questions so I added the music. You're right, it does slow the pace down, but I think that's okay and leaves less people behind. When this came out I wasn't in a good spot to note down things, and kept forgetting. Finally took the quiz! Only 19. And weird, I thought Dack Fayden, greatest thief in the multiverse, was killed offscreen in a novel, and it was Indestructible Giddy who bought the farm through desparking in the War of the Spark trailer.
Gideon's about to get it, but seeing him in trouble is enough to make Liliana turn against Nicol Bolas. I guess he's worth more to her than ol' Dack was apparently

I got 28 points! The last two rounds killed me. Also I believe all the Multiverse Legends from Kaladesh are actually marble statues depicting the person in the card (cus they're using the 'masterpiece' frame reserved for artifacts), which is why she's randomly white. The thing I'd like to know more is why her daughter is white when both she and her husband clearly aren't.
I think Chandra was design WAYYYY before they had any idea what Kaladesh was every going to look like
@@RedBobcatGames I recall someone mentioning that the same was true of Gideon? He looks a lot more white in his original art for Gideon Jura and its not till later that hes more tan and clearly mediterranian after they decided he was from Theros. I assume Chandra just had more appearances at that point though so subtly shifting her design would have been more obvious.
I don't know honestly, but if that's true about Gideon I can believe it. Much easier to explain him away

Btw, the Pia Nalaar on that one card looks that way because it's a gilded marble statue of her. They wanted to use the _Masterpieces_ frame for legends from Kaladesh on the _Multiverse Legends_ bonus sheet of the set _March of the Machine,_ but it's a bit weird calling people "masterpieces", so they conceptualized what statues made in tribute to their legacy would look like.
Yeah, I think it's still a bit odd though. They didn't really get around the "it's weird for people to be masterpieces" thing here I feel

The card isn't depicting a robot / statue of her, like Avacyn's Memorial is a statue of Avacyn for instance. That Masterpiece card is literally depicting her. That's meant to be her in the picture, and yeah they got her skin colour wrong. That's weird
@@RedBobcatGames she's supposed to be a statue infused with æther in the art. Constructs on Kaladesh have a very particular filigree aesthetic, which the art doesn't match. It's provably not a depiction of Pia Nalaar the person, as it matches the aesthetic of Reyav and Ragavan in the same style, and they, too, appear to be statues. Baraal is depicted as himself, but he is an Aetherborn, so a living machine of sorts. On top of that, the artist for the card is Asian themself, so I highly doubt it was some sort of covert attempt to whitewash the character. I get that the person who responded to you was unnecessarily snide, but please don't double down on your stance when presented with contrary evidence to your claim.

The weird looking Pia is because the Kaladesh cards portraying non-artifact creatures which use that Masterpiece border have the gimmick of the art being a statue of them.

I started playing in 2017, and I've gone back and looked at every Modern-legal set, but I'm not too far into researching cards from the first 10 years of the game; I think I'm on _Legends_ atm, so it will take a bit to get to _Tempest._

Why thank you very much. I chose to reread the questions because when I've done quizzes with friends before there's almost always someone that says "Wait, what did he say?". But, I also knew people would want to chat between questions so I added the music. You're right, it does slow the pace down, but I think that's okay and leaves less people behind. (I don't know that for a fact of course, just trying my best haha)
