    There are experts in one subject, then there are jack of all trades, then there's the master of all trades, and then there are very few legends. There was a point where it stopped being 3D art and I could literally just walk into the scene. As I climb up the steps admiring the long lost secrets of the gate I begin to see what truly lies in the heart of creation. You left no stone unturned, no blade of grass unbrushed, and no rim of light unblessed by your holy stroke... I hope one day I can be half the artist you are. A true scientist of nature. Your art could be the next sex icon for Men's magazine! Dude frickin good job!

    To place all stencils into the Stencil folder :
    Look at the Stencil interface on the right side, notice the three-dotted icon > click it > Add existing folder > select one of the images in Alex's folder > the other images in that specific folder will follow automatically

      If I can offer my humble answer:
      If you have an interest in this sort of stuff, you could begin by doing beginner tutorials for Blender and Photoshop. I recommend checking out the website : ctrlpaint and Blenderguru on TH-cam to start.
      It's good to keep a healthy interest in other people's experiments and workflows like Alex demonstrates: it will trigger you into experimenting. But eventually you have to put knowledge into practice, and acknowledge you will fail many times before achieving a desired result.
      Don't give up though, because you will learn from mistakes and use that knowledge into your next painting or concept

    • @grimlocksmash3273
      @grimlocksmash3273 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@michiel-vdheuvel You're right, I've been trying to jump the gun too many times. I started with automotive design and I'm pretty good at it, but I've been trying to branch out to other things as well and it's been pretty tough, but that's cause I've been trying to do bigger projects without properly getting my foundations straight. I should look into other people's methods and slowly develop my own *then* go into those larger projects.
      Thx again for your comment mate :)

    You should’ve added another light source illuminating the statues or atleast one of them. Usually the more complicated meshes need more of a direct light because they don’t seem very visible.

    • @AlexPi
      @AlexPi  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are 5 additional light sources.
      But the satuis must remain in the shade, they are not the focal object.

    • @gogulsaji6933
      @gogulsaji6933 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Alex Pi I get that but because of the statues not having a very simple silhouette, they seem confusing in the final render. Of course it doesn’t really matter because it is easy to identify that they are statues of some sort. Really great job 👍

    0:36 how do you apply the Stencil only with the Transform tool? And the depth control? @Alex PI

    • @AlexPi
      @AlexPi  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used extrusion to stencil. I adjusted the depth on the brush.

    Are you still using 3dcoat?

    Amazing! How and by how much do you decimate you 3dcoat models? And is there a way to purchase the blend file for this to take a look at the node setup?

      Of the 38 million, 66,000 polygons remain. Perhaps a little later I will post this file to the gumroad, but this is not certain. :)

      I have gumroad, but there is no tutorial material there.

    Hey, great video. Do you think its possible to do something like that on a Macbook Air M1 16GB ? (without melting the cpu)

    • @AlexPi
      @AlexPi  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, thanks!
      I think it's possible, but the weaker the PC, the more time you need to spend on optimizing the scene.

      @@AlexPi Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately I NEED a laptop... I move around a lot, portability and space is an issue. So I am between the M1 macbook air, and the Zephyrus g14 ryzen 7 5800HS / RTX 3050.
