any chance you would want to go with a threadless headset and stem? i know it didnt become a thing untill around 95-97 but i know you wanna go custom and if you could find one the right size that would 100 times stronger/better/easier overall.

Hi mate, I had no choice but to buy a spurious 1" one from ebay at the time. It was surprisingly good and had sealed bearings, too! They come in anodized red, silver, black and silver Heres the link for you: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/313289768279?var=612160358639 Hope this helps 🤙😁

Can I ask what was wrong with using a tange headset? I have the same bike and wondered why you chose the headset that you did?

I bought a Tange headset, but it was too big to fit. This frame has a smaller steerer tube in it unfortunately.
