- I buy a 2022 Mongoose California Special repop BMX! Have a look as I unbox it and build it. I was surprised of the quality of the bike, the welds and paintwork were surprising. Find out more as I go through the process and find out about my future plans for the bike as I plan to modify it :D

Excellent video. I bought the first release mongoose stranger things and rebuilt it from scratch during lock downs in Australia 2020. Now I have an itch for the red Supergoose. A great idea that they released these. It was never about quality like back in the 80's but about nostalgia for us men that like to look back at these the way we did as youngsters. I don't ride my mongoose but every time I walk in the garage I look at it and I smile. Thank you great job.

My first half-decent bike was a Californian. Many miles, many adventures/misadventures. Then my sister raced it, and did pretty well with it.
The holes in the rims don't look large enough. I bent the 1-piece cranks, and I think I smashed the seat rails, but the rims survived.
The pedals you have I think were called Bear Traps. Mine had plastic platforms.

I’m thrilled I remember trying to get the mongoose on layaway at 1985 and my mother would not give me the mongoose. She made me get the Royce union conqueror and that Mike was awesome too but finally 40 years later I’m getting my bike.!!! and I couldn’t be happier that they remade it and they made it right good comeback mongoose

Nice to make them again, but I’ll rather wait for a chrome version with the original beautiful welds. These weld are real tear jerkers.😢
I got my bike today and it has a front brake...Great!!! I bought it in France and it came with the same shipping box yours did. The quality is ok. Cheers

That I believe is what they call nickel finish. Not all of them were chrome back in the day.

Hi, I just bought the supergoose reissue complete bike and I want to switch the frame and forks out with a 1983 pro class. Does you know if that’s possible?
