    So heartbreaking to see Tia on the verge of tears. The world's full of painful history, but we live and we learn, don't we? We all have a choice of whether we allow other people's negativity to bounce off ourselves. I'm so glad that you guys chose to let it go and not have someone else's negativity ruin your day.

    As a Korean, I would like to apologize on behalf of the rude lady. There are historical disagreements, but that should not spill over to our personal lives. I hope you understand that most Koreans would not let international relations intrude on our everyday interactions with people of any descent and that her actions are abnormal. I hope the rest of your trip is safe and filled with good experiences!

      No, we shouldn't try to understand their racist hatred. The Japanese soldiers who did terrible things in Korea have all died, many decades ago. Japanese tourists who come visit Korea have nothing to do with Japanese Imperial army from 80 years ago. Japan has become one of the most peaceful countries and is a huge consumer of Korean culture (kpop, kdrama, food...), many Koreans come to study and live in Japan.
      You can hate with all your heart the Japanese soldiers who committed those crimes a long time ago, but if you hate the peaceful Japanese people who come to visit Korea, you are not better than those Japanese imperial soldiers.

    That lady must be literally insane. Plz dont mind that crazy lady`s rudeness, and I hope you guys be able to forget it. Even though we, Korea have such a sad colonial history, the hatred against Japan normally happened in diplomatic or political conflict situation, not usually in that kind of personal contact each other. I'd like you to believe that most Korean do not express that kind of hatred to Japanese tourist or resident in Korea directly, even not have such an uncivilized intention. However, it doesn't mean that we've alreay forgiven and forgotten everything about our history related to the colonial period. People must be remained in justice and fairness, same as to those two nations. We don't hate Japanese people mostly, but just are sensitive about their goverment's political provocation, and this stance seems to be also mirrored by Janpanese. I feel really ashamed of her. What a crazy person she is. Hope u guys have wonderful time in Korea. Just forget it. She might be abnormal person, as well as very small minority among Korean people.

    That put a big lump in my throat seeing such ignorance and rudeness of another person targeting you of all people. Tia, you are a strong, beautiful, and absolutely delightful person and I'm so glad that you let that go. My husband and I are excited to follow you and Cheveyo in your new adventures! You guys are awesome!

    Sorry about the rude lady. Sometimes people hold a grudge on the past, history when people have no control of their heritage past. When people hold a grudge, they have a hard time moving on with life. May she find peace in her life. Continue to enjoy Seoul. It’s a bustling city with good lovely people with amazing culture and food. Must try Korean bbq, fish market.

    • @lecherhao86
      @lecherhao86 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Neither would I be quick to come to a judgement that people can't move on if they hold grudge on the past. It really depends on the harm that was done upon them, isn't that so?
      Even though we don't have other details about the lady, but we simply cannot dismiss the suffering the older generation Koreans have been through during the war..perhaps, and I'm guessing, that old lady and her family might have gone through the war.
      Same thing when you come over to Singapore and you happen to be a Japanese and you get nasty remarks or being discriminated by a local elderly. There could still be some elderly left who are victims of the war. You can't just say that they are racist because they are victims. Their experiences are real.
      My late granddad was 100+ years old when he passed on. He was from China and he came to Singapore and suffered both Japanese occupation of China in his days as a child and later on Japanese occupation of Singapore as an adult. The killings and torture and rape by the Japanese were beyond atrocity. And he still had so much hate towards the Japanese when I remembered the very last conversation with him when I was a little kid.
      He had moved on with his life. But the hatred is there.

      One of good way to eat good food with a reasonable price is to go to a food court at any department stores.. You will have a lot of choices to make at the food court. I recommend for you guys go to the Seoul Hyundai department store near Han River. At the same time, you can go to the Han River park at night for night view.

    Whodathunk you could get decent food at a 7-11? Just today, I saw a post in which the person was saying that the bánh mì sandwiches at 7-11 in Viet Nam are the best. 🤷 Looks like you missed out on something there. 🤣 I'm looking forward to seeing you take the food game up a notch in future videos. 😉 That old Korean village looked awesome, like right out of a movie. That's one of my favorite things about traveling (even here in the State)....being able to walk through older neighborhoods like that and feel like I've walked backward in time to hundreds of years ago. There's nothing like it, and it's just impossible to capture that in pictures or video. Thanks for sharing!

    The eyes make up and eyebrows style tia, they are so beautiful with your big eyes and thin eyebrows but accidently they accentuate your japanese features and tell on you on your japanese root. ( Koreans have slightly different eyes and most have mono eyelid, and they are extremely sharp on sighting people of other asian ancestries, especially Japanese)

    There is still a lot of strong resentment in Korea against Japanese from 2cnd world war. I made a mistake on a golf course in Canada and I asked (never again) if the couple were Japanese and they said they were Korean and they hate the Japanese. Keep smiling you are a wonderful couple.
