If you think your video is lacking some things like the best audio and video quality, here’s a list of what it’s all providing: beautiful pops of color, a happy hummingbird, a clematis that is stunning and amazing soil for us to look at. For someone who can’t get my hands in the dirt yet (hi to all you fellow Zone 3-ers!), I loved every minute of your video Janey, there’s nothing to criticize here that’s for sure!! 💚🇨🇦
Hello fellow Manitoban! Are you as jealous of these California gardeners as I am??! Love watching Janey until I can get in the garden! It’s the next best thing❤
Hi Colleen from Manitoba! 😀 I am definitely California dreaming these days! Yikes this cold, strong, snowflakey wind today... my hair is looking like Kramer’s from Seinfeld. I’m with you 100%, watching Janey in her garden will get us through until it’s our chance to get in our gardens one day!! 🌱🇨🇦
It's amazing how your garden has come to life in a year's time! I know it is due to hard work, planning and lots of help, but the real source is your love of gardening.
I just am so amazed at how far you have come with this yard. It is so amazing and you come up with really fantastic ideas. I wish we were friends so you could help me in my garden. 😂😊😂😊 Thank you for all the inspiration and good times!!!
You are amazing. What you have achieved in your garden in less than a year has been fantastic. I really look forward to watching your videos each morning to see what you do next.
When we think back to the first holes you and Jason tried to dig with your digger and it was like rock, and compare it to today with the beautiful soil you now have, it's unbelievable!
I have used the no till method for about 30 years now. Used newspaper (pre-digital age, when we used to read newspapers, hah), now I use cardboard. Always worked great.
Planting marathon begins... Yay ... What I especially liked about today's video is - giving info about fertilizer and pruning details on the plants you planted today. This info is hugely beneficial as part of taking care of the plant. Pls continue to provide this guidance!! Thankyou
My sister said the Go pro has 2 speakers, one in front and one on the back of the camera. You need to set the audio to record from both front and back. Love your videos.
Moved to TN, flower beds were not improved, heavy clay soil & very few worms. I did the cardboard, compost, & mulched with soil conditioner. As soon as the next season while planting, I can’t dig one trowel of soil without running into a ton of worms so I’m a big believer in this method 👍💚
If I didn’t look at you pretty much everyday during the week if I passed by your area I would know this a gardener who loves being in their garden. I love the view at time stamp 4:37. Gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.
Is it a compliment if i say it's not that bad, seriously! I mean to see what on earth, is exciting today in Janie's garden is more outstanding then the video/audio. AND you will fix that, this is what its all about, whether its gardening, cooking, tech, issues, etc. We all learn as you do Janie, so no worries. Thank you for all your content, on top of your fantastic personality! PS. I can see you on the phone with Robbie, since he uses a Go-pro, saying "ROBBIE" I need advice on this! LOLLLLL ~I love it!
Janey why don’t you repeat the rose a few times in the Russian Sage bed? Your property is really coming to life. It’s unbelievable the difference since you first moved in. Be proud of all you have achieved Janey! 🌟👏🏻❤️
Didn't notice you wearing a microphone? And, using the go pro just takes some practice. Don't give up on it yet! Your garden vision is coming along-beautiful!
Janey! I am glad to know I'm not the only one who reacts to Russian Sage! I thought I was going crazy! I don't break out, but when clearing out the old foliage in spring or fall, the silvery white dust that poofs off the plants causes me to have a severe coughing fit, so bad it is scary! I guess those silvery hairs are really irritating to the lungs! I finally realized what was causing it, and now am VERY careful when disposing of the cuttings.
Hello Janie, I started watching your videos shortly before your move. I am blown away with how you have transformed the property in such a short period of time. Today, I noticed you have zero grass. Wow! I am in New Jersey, recently zone 7. The soil here is sandy, we are on a green lawn journey. Last spring we put down grass seeds, this year we are trying micro clover seeds. Lawn is a different challenge, but it’s important to me. I’ve spent so much money on dirt and seeds. At any rate…thanks for inspiring me! Brenda
Idea to help find our tools. The tools for our garden We tie red strips around all our tools. I’ve even spray-painted one of our measuring tapes up bright color. I was thinking of getting the toolbelt to help me My husband just enjoys, watching me hunting down my tools in the yard it’s our tickle It’s not a fun thing when you run across a tool while you’re mowing
Your Orchard Garden is looking so beautiful! You probably already know, but Laura from Garden Answer has some Sweet Romance Lavender that she's had for a few years now and she cuts it back almost completely to the ground in early spring and she says that's what keeps it looking so pretty.
Ack! Don't throw your camera away, give it to someone who needs one. That said, I didnt find the audio bad .. just different sometimes. And, we know the situation is a temp. thing, don't stress hun ....❤❤
My one kniphophia planted alongside my driveway at least 15 years ago had spread out. And I've put off the inevitable for too long. Thx for the advice! going to try to conquer and divide, only have about 12" to work in and don't even know if some rhizomes are down underneath the drive ... 😮
Just a viewers view of your garden, it's looking great by the way! Having watched your videos as you've moved to the new house I love your paths and checkerd walkway. I think it would look so good if your crushed granite matched the granite gravel you put in the checkerd area. And the crushed granite wouldn't track onto your patio. Just a viewers observation! Have a great day!
boy o boy - I can relate to your digging and finding "treasures" - yesterday I was planting daffodil bulbs (I know its wayyyyyy late - please don't judge ... circumstances prevented me from planting in the Fall so I had to plant them now or throw them - 150 ! - away) - back to my story - I was using my auger and came upon an unknown trash pile that consisted of what, I assume, was an old tile floor - bits and pieces in a huge pile - yikes !!! Your garden is looking absolutely amazing - the no till, cardboard method is a winner for sure. I do it here in my north of Atlanta garden and it really helps with the weeds and our lovely, hard red clay soil. Keep on going girl - you're doing a FABULOUS job and I'm grateful you are sharing this journey with us all ...
Thinking, when you are planting alongside your new path. If you could put down a sheet of cardboard you could just flick the mulch etc back onto the bed. X
I cannot get over how fast your soil went from rags to riches! I have used the no till method as well, and it is nothing short of miraculous! I am loving all the planting that is happening in your garden, and admire how you decide where to put things so quickly. I take forever to plant because I keep changing my mind!💐
You stated before you really liked filming with your cellphone… you could buy a new phone and use it just for filming, that way you’ll have two phones, one for personal use and one for filming… just a thought if you really don’t like the camera
Janey, I am in Northern California Zone 9a. I really enjoy your videos. I heard you mention a few times about not knowing the name of a plant or tree. I use "Picture This" installed on my phone. A free Ap.
Good morning, Janey, I'm enjoying early morning video with my coffee before work. I'm jealous here in Western New York it's still too cold to do anything in my garden. Happy planting.
I live across the border near Niagara Falls, Canada. I have been gardening since about mid-March (clean-up mostly and some pruning) and now planting and moving some shrubs and perennials. The garden centers are just starting to get in new stuff however so I’m waiting for that! In Niagara we are in a warmer zone than surrounding areas - bit of a microclimate. Love seeing what’s happening in Northern California.
Janey, your garden is looking fantastic and is going to be so beautiful this summer. I want to thank you for introducing me/us to so many wonderful perennials. My new flower bed (after ripping out our in-ground pool last summer is almost ready to plant and I can't wait!
😊 you’re so cute! You get so excited over small changes in your garden soil and finding worms and other beneficially around your garden. I understand where you’re coming from because I’m right there with you.
When it rains, I try to save the worms by picking them off the driveway and throwing them into my garden. My neighbours must think I’ve totally lost it! 😂❤️🌷🇨🇦
Everything is looking so pretty! I would have NEVER had the vision you had when I saw this new property! With your surgeries, travel and interviews with other gardeners I think you have done an amazing job!
I love your channel. I cannot tell you how much you've taught me. You dont just show the plant. You review everything, including plants to pair your plant with. I've been gardening for years, but I am only now discovering where I've gone wrong for so long. I have corrected so many mistakes last year, and this spring, my flowerbeds are looking so pretty. Thank you so much for all you do, even when you would feel better sitting down with your foot up.
Wow! Everything is popping up and filling in. I love kniphofias, too! Hot and Cold is great; also love the Popsicle series and some of the greenish-yellow ones. Looking great! My bearded iris are showing buds here in San Francisco, and my Australian plants are going crazy.
Hi Janey. Love your videos. I love architecural artichoke and cardoon plants. I saw them growing in a food garden in Sonoma county and the cardoons grew into a huge plant about 5x5 feet and has those beautiful purple flowers! Good luck with your plants. Artichokes are said to be one of the most nutritious vegis.
The video is fine and we all love you regardless of the quality BUT I will say, it's incredible how much better quality our phones are than some cameras. Iphones are amazing!
Hi Janey, the official name for the skin irritation is called Phytophotodermatitis and is the combination of contact with the skin and sunlight. I want to put some russian sage in my garden but have been reluctant as I am sensitive too. I didn't mind the audio, keep at it and it will get easier. I remember switching from my blackberry phone to an iphone like 15 years ago and hating my iphone wanting to throw it away and it only took about a week and I was hooked. Enjoyed all the planting and information sharing :)
I guess I've watched Jenny of Gardening With Creekside so often using her namesake Power Planter auger I expected your soil to be red like hers in North Carolina. 😁 I ordered her auger (in lime green) and the DeWalt cement mixer you recommended. I can't wait to start digging holes, but I don't know why it didn't occur to me these tools are H E A V Y! I guess it'll help me build up my upper arms. I'm 67. I'm disappointed several perennials planted last year didn't survive our mild Minnesota winter. Pincushion flower, 'Rozanne' geranium, a pale pink variety of stachys I found late in the season and was looking forward to seeing it perform along with the other two traditional pink/purple ones planted earlier. At least David Austin came through honoring their generous warranty. They are replacing a couple roses that didn't survive their first winter from 2 years ago.
My clematis that I’ve had for three years now is finally blooming, hallelujah, the blooms are heavenly! Can you list right here the name of that clematis, I would love to order it
The garden is looking soooo beautiful, even with your camera issues, lol! I would turn off the automatic white balance as that's causing some issues for you, and the audio was fine for most of the video, just the beginning was a little bit muffled but it sounds you got that setting figured out. Maybe just use this camera for wide shots when you are in the process of planting or walking, and then use your phone for the closeups? I'm sure you'll get it all figured out!
All sage plants burn my skin. No rash appears because I’ve washed up as soon as I felt irritation. Even sage from the grocery store produce department burns. Lantana irritates my skin as well but it doesn’t stop me from planting them. 😂
I was going to comment earlier so looked back at this video meant to let you know that you can try growing rose queen cleome it has that pink an white tall ombré look like the kniphofia but in pink
I don't ever suffer from allergies but holy moly, when I cut back my Russian Sage this spring, it triggered a massive sinus allergy! It didn't last long but there must be something in Russian Sage that causes crazy reactions!
Hi Janey! I also have a problem with Russian Sage also! I get a rash from that and yarrow! Nothing else! So you are not alone! Be interesting to see how many of your watchers also have this problem. Hope you have a great week planting! Bev
I can’t get over how good everything looks! I have never had any skin reaction to Russian sage. I’m obsessed with how it smells and I think your variety of plants all together with the rose and knifofia will all look gorgeous together!
Yeah - I get it - the volume is totally annoying but at least we can still hear & see what’s going on! So enjoyed seeing the Russian Sage with the Knifophia! I always shy away from anything Orange but I believe I will try those 2 together for myself! Thx so much! 😎
I love the comment about minimum spacing so the plants touch vs max spacing to keep a gap between. That seems so obvious when you say it and yet most of us wouldn't have thought of it in those clear terms.
I love seeing you add more perennials. Today was a grand opening to a family garden center in southern Wisconsin. It was so exciting to be in the greenhouse and see all the plants. It is still early here with lows in the thirties, but I bought a couple of perennials and cool season plants. Enjoy your weekend!
Good morning Janey, Love the Red Hot Pokers, I'm going to Amarillo, Texas to do some plant shopping 👏 I'm going to a garden nursery, they have some of the plants thay you and Laura from (G.A) talk and plants. I'm excited. Your property is coming alive with all the different varieties of plants. Thank you Janey, for sharing this video with us. Have a wonderful rest of the day and weekend. 🌼 👋 🙂. 🌱
It seems like the microphone on your new camera is directional; when you are behind the camara your volume is great, when you are in front of the camera it is less than optimum.
Hi Jenny 🌺. Every thing looks amazing in your garden . The orange flowers with purple are amazing together . The pink clematis looks so pretty .I love humming birds every day they visit my garden like yours . Your neighbor's tree is apple . Janey Iook for the shrub streptosolen jamesonii it going to be amazing in your garden . Have a wonderful day . 🌺🌻🌺
Hi Janey. You are the first video I watch every day. Do you set up drip irrigation to each plant when you plant? If so, can you include a video of your doing so? Keep up the good work. I can see your vision coming to life. ❤
Your garden is just looking beautiful. Your neighbor’s tree looks just like one that came up in my side garden years ago and I just ask a gardening friend what he thought it might be and he said a type of crab apple.
I've got a couple of Russian sage also , they don't seem toget very big, and then die back in winter , then have to start over again in spring , I use fish fertilizer on just about everything, cuz it's better than chemicals ... you've come along way with yours wish I had the time to spend as u do.
If you think your video is lacking some things like the best audio and video quality, here’s a list of what it’s all providing: beautiful pops of color, a happy hummingbird, a clematis that is stunning and amazing soil for us to look at. Thank you for all the inspiration and good times!!!
I painted all my neutral handled garden tools with bright orange so I can find them lol ❤❤
I lost my hori hori for 3 months. In plain sight stuck in the ground in front of the garden gate post😂 painted the handle bright pink.
Your garden is really taking shape, so much fun watching your enthusiasm. Gotta say I love the music to your videos. So fun and cheerful 😊
You are amazing. What you have achieved in your garden in less than a year has been fantastic. I really look forward to watching your videos each morning to see what you do next.

Don’t give up on your new camera Janey! We’re here for anything you post😊practice makes perfect ❤🇨🇦

Great idea! And some alfalfa meal will make them happy!
Wow, you can really see the transformation in your garden since you moved in. You have put so much into it and it's paying off!
you are so lucky to afford all those plants and so often! you’ve changed the look already even though you have a long way to go.
Didn't notice you wearing a microphone? And, using the go pro just takes some practice. Don't give up on it yet! Your garden vision is coming along-beautiful!

I just love watching planting days, so beautiful! ❤ It pays to be young and strong! 😂
Idea to help find our tools.
The tools for our garden
We tie red strips around all our tools. I’ve even spray-painted one of our measuring tapes up bright color.
I was thinking of getting the toolbelt to help me
My husband just enjoys, watching me hunting down my tools in the yard it’s our tickle
It’s not a fun thing when you run across a tool while you’re mowing
The pathways looks so dreamy. The plantings you have already don’t have transformed the whole property. Can’t wait to see what’s next.

How about planting the Russian Sage or a tall grass over in front of the tank to disguise

Russian Sage is such a trouper. I'm in 9b also, and they can take the heat, no problem. I hardly water them
The audio sounded ok to me. Looking good out there!!
The progress has been very impressive since the purchase of the land🎉 i love it😊
Janey, I am in Northern California Zone 9a. I really enjoy your videos. I heard you mention a few times about not knowing the name of a plant or tree. I use "Picture This" installed on my phone. A free Ap.
Sitting in cloudy skies in Zone 5b in Hamilton ON and wishing I had your weather. 😢 I’m loving the videos and inspiration. Things look so good ❤
I am 5b in Albany, NY and I have the same cloudy skies! Soon my friend the sun will come.. happy gardening
By the way, those roses are gorgeous. I struggle so much with powdery mildew and my roses just not staying bright and shiny leaves.

Looking great!
My bearded iris are showing buds here in San Francisco, and my Australian plants are going crazy.
Everything is looking so beautiful ❤
I am so excited for you guys! Can’t wait to see more progress❤
Beautiful flowers and garden!!
It’s looking great …!
The guys did an awesome job on the pathway
The summer isn’t even hear yet and your garden is already gorgeous. ❤❤
I don’t think the video was that bad! Our own worst enemy!
Your garden is shaping up beautifully! Fun to watch the transformation!
Maybe 2 phones? One purely for recording? The property is looking lovely Janey
This 👆🏼!!! You don’t have to keep a data plan for your filming phone or it becomes your business phone number!
I thought the same thing! 🙂💕
The video is fine and we all love you regardless of the quality BUT I will say, it's incredible how much better quality our phones are than some cameras. Iphones are amazing!
looks beautiful!!! thanks for sharing.
Hello, thank you for sharing your experience.
I love the dog lying there-is he thinking…”I don’t have to help, do I?”

The view at 3:28 is stunning!! I am loving watching your plans come to life in your garden!
Good morning Janey,
Love the Red Hot Pokers, I'm going to Amarillo, Texas to do some plant shopping 👏 I'm going to a garden nursery, they have some of the plants thay you and Laura from (G.A) talk and plants. I'm excited.
Your property is coming alive with all the different varieties of plants. Thank you Janey, for sharing this video with us. Have a wonderful rest of the day and weekend. 🌼 👋 🙂.

Hi Janey. You are the first video I watch every day. Do you set up drip irrigation to each plant when you plant? If so, can you include a video of your doing so? Keep up the good work. I can see your vision coming to life. ❤
Everything is coming together and looking so beautiful!
Everything is so beautiful Janey. How fun to watch you discover all your plants growing so well. 👍🏻💕🌻🌼🌸🦋
Nothing like a clouding day to work in the garden. Nice work !
Every time I turn to your channel I’m amazed at how everything is looking so beautiful , love it❤️💐
Your garden is just looking beautiful. Your neighbor’s tree looks just like one that came up in my side garden years ago and I just ask a gardening friend what he thought it might be and he said a type of crab apple.
Wow it's so fun to see your space develop. The transformation is stunning.
So sorry about your new camera. I can feel your frustration! Your yard is looking amazing...❤M
Janie, Inoticed you never use biotone starter when planting. Have you ever used it and does it really make a difference. I use it alot.
Gorgeous
I get very excited to see worms in the soil!
I've got a couple of Russian sage also , they don't seem toget very big, and then die back in winter , then have to start over again in spring , I use fish fertilizer on just about everything, cuz it's better than chemicals ... you've come along way with yours wish I had the time to spend as u do.
Will you be planting outside your gate? I think some flowers there will look great
Things are looking beautiful in your garden!👍😎❤️❤️❤️
You have done so much in a short time! Looking beautiful
Not your normal best audio and video but definitely great content!
You can totally see the gardens coming together. It looks fantastic! The Russian sage is a huge allergen for me also...but I still have them planted:)
