It´s a good 2 door Coupe Sports GT for the street, not for the track but with a little bit tuning here and there, i think that the car can perform really well on the track.
That oil temp is scary, 240 deg F on a 56 degree day without even going to an actual track Makes me worry what happens on a shorter track on a 100 degree Texas day? Limp mode or thermal breakdown?
Nice. I expected this test drive. 😊👍 It is not the best sport car, but it still gives you a good feeling when you see it. And even tho Blue and White are my favouries Colors, Z is the car that Looks Good in Any Color, even in this Exotic "Yellow Almost Ripped Banana". 😉
I remember back in the early nineties I had a 300zx with a manual transmission, and it was such an easy drive!! The handling was beautiful, and the interior design for the driver was perfect because you didn't have to reach for anything, it was all right there for you! You just molded to car in every way. Much easier than the 911sc I had before, though not as pretty! 😂❤️

I don't get people who say this car is good for the money. The build quality (door closing, plastics in interior, infotainment) is more like a $30k car, not a $50k car. Great car to drive, but too much from the old 370 generation for a 2023 MY car.
The same has been said of the Charger/Challenger pairing. Keep in mind that you're paying for a look and performance for that $50K, not just build quality (which I agree is shoddy). Competitors like the Mustang or Camaro aren't a whole lot better to be honest, and the Supra cheapens out in places. I think if there was someone doing it better for $50K, the Z would feel like corners were cut, but no one really knocks it out of the park at this price point 🤷♂️
I hate their choice of tires but like their decision for softer suspension even though everyone complains. You have the option to buy this car and daily drive it for several years , then mod the heck out of it after you pay it off if you want. I also hate the piano black on the otherwise great looking steering wheel. This is making me miss my 350z.
I'm thinking of selling the new wrx and picking one of these up. The wrx is very stiff.. I need to go test drive a Z. The suspension and balance look dialed in proper GT
Charging around 60k jusr for an updated infotainment system, gauge cluster, steering wheel and shifter is lowkey absurd. You can add the same mods to a 370 for under 3k. As far as hp, you can litteraly spend 500 dollars on a 370 and it'll make more than 400 ponies... idk. Seems insane😭
I love the interior more than the supra, but the front end looks horrible! I'd rather have the supra for the performance and the sound, but this a good car for the money!
This car is BEAUTIFUL!! All it needs is a smoother stronger straight 6, better and more refined auto and manual transmission's that aren’t lame, sound deadening, new lighter and stronger chassis, new suspension, adjustable shocks, better exhaust that you can hear pops and crackles, flat bottom steering wheel, better nicer interior materials, better tires better infotainment, and lighter weight, a head up display…..or you could just buy a Supra and be done with it!
My 2nd biggest problem with automatics: flooring it makes it downshift, even in manual mode. A few cars I've test driven (G8 GT, FR-S) don't do that and I loved it (for automatics, anyway). Does the Z hold gears in manual mode?
50k is not overpriced for a 400hp car lol. The only problem is that the demand is incredibly high and the price basically double with the taxes and stuff.
The interior looks very goofy. Already old and outdated styling. Huge misstep here by Nissan. You said the door slam felt cheap, but the entire thing looks cheap. Extremely overpriced and underdelivered.

The Supra would definitely leave the Z in the dust on the track (without any tuning for either), but, as you said, the Z is great on the street.

I like the Z looks more than the supra, it just looks more clean and simplistic. Interior however, I think that Supra has done it better.

I love a manual transmission in a sports car!! It just isn't as fun with an automatic.
Seems like a really fun car even in the 9 speed. Still not sure which I'd take between that and the Supra.

Recently, I was watching Throttle House doing a drag race between a Ford Mustang GT, a Nissan 400z, and a Dodge Challenger Scat Pack too!
The Supra has more of a cool factor while this Z has more of a classy presence… both effective for the price point and performance levels I suppose
