How much faster was it to run the Chief on the BN to Galesburg then to run the whole Chilli Sub.

Per the Chili station master, it was slightly faster on the Santa Fe, but $936,000 per year more expensive to Amtrack. At a time, Amtrack was doing everything to survive, switching to BN was obvious.
