So, I actually work at a fire department as a clerk and just yesterday I asked one of the lieutenants their protocols when it comes to rescuing snakes during their runs. He said that, while he has never personally gone into a house with reptiles before, there have been many snakes he has heard perish in house fires because fireman do not do any kind of training to try and handle snakes to get them to safety. This is why it is so important that everyone keep a fire extinguisher in their house so that they are not putting their pets in danger, especially if you have a large collection and need to keep them somewhere like a basement (either for brumation or just because of space) This goes if you have cats and dogs too, or heck, even fish! Getting everyone to safety is priority number one and if you have lots of reptiles, there realistically may not be a chance for you to get them out of the house before the fire gets out of control. This is just one of the many things you have to consider as a pet owner and should definitely be brought up in conversation a lot more often. I am glad at least some of the reptiles came out okay but it is a horrible incident that does not bear any repeating.
I think it would be really cool to do another video like this where we get to see how some of the snakes use their enclosures now that you’ve been open for a year!

Aww, I love seeing wild snakes. Unfortunately where I live in the UK there are only three species of snake: common and cute Grass Snakes, rarer Smooth Snakes, and the venomous Adder. I've met a few grass snakes and several adders, including (amusingly) trying to pick up a wild adder when I was about 10. Fortunately I did not get bitten.
So glad we got a video about these two and officially learned their names. I am seriously hoping Phoenix is gravid because that would just be amazing, especially after what they went through.
That video helped me heal my burn rescue she sadly never ate again but for several months she experienced true love in our care and was finally out of pain

Really happy that you guys can help and give amazing homes to them, while also promoting acceptance and inspiring people to help another special needs pets 😁😁 On a side note, I never realized how long since I've been subscribed to the channel, I remember the video about treating the injured ball python
Cant imagine what their previous owner went through specially losing a large variety of animals 😢 and those snakes are absolutely beautiful regardless of their injuries and love the name of them and phoenix huffing and puffing when you touched her and she does look pregnant
I went through a house fire a little over a year ago, and I know just how scary it is. Losing everything. Thankfully, my collection was smaller, and I was able to get my pets to safety. (Except for one) I'm glad you found names for them! I started typing this before we got to the names, but I thought Perseverance would have been a good, strong name!
Always loved the name Phoenix as a suggestion, and as a fellow snake parent of an "Ember" I must say you've chosen a great pair of names! Kept throwing me off that the male was named Ember (as my ball python named Ember(ly) is female) but truly a great choice of names. I'm so so glad to see them thriving in the space!
I was actually wondering how the scarring affected shedding and if it caused stuck shed and if the male had trouble breathing while eating. Then Emily threw those answers in at the end. She knows what people will want to know.
Emily I am so proud of you and Ed for everything you do for this community! I look up to you guys ❤❤❤❤❤ I don’t know what we would do without you guys!

This story reminds me of a local highschool here in Australia that had a really awesome reptile room with all sorts of pythons, lizards, turtles and more which caught fire due to a faulty wire, they lost so so much and the survivors had so many health issues. Thank you guys for helping these special needs reptiles!
Thank you for updating us on the boas! I remember when you made the video about the fire. It was so sad and I'm glad these two are doing so well. I think Phoenix just has to poop lmao.
I've been waiting for this video since WAY back, and I'm super glad we finally got an update on these rescuees! It is a real shame what ended up happening to them and their home, but glad that they're safe and thriving now!! Such a beautiful pair, and glad they're now a mainstay in the Snake Discovery family! ❤️
these two are incredibly lucky, one of our neighbors had a house fire last year and lost 3 out of 4 of their cats, it also happened at night and destroyed their home. thankfully our builders up here move fast and they are in their new home now. i wish anyone whose gone through that the best of luck and a fast recovery.
That's great, I experienced a fire less than a year ago, which displaced me and my animals, and am so fortunate that the fire didn't reach the room with my snakes and arachnids. Got things taken care of and were all good now, still can relate and am happy to see you doing this.
Your male boa is absolutely gorgeous. I think that he is eve more beautiful now with the scarring than before because it shows what he's gone through and how strong he is to have survived this awful event.
They definitely qualify as rescued. bless you for giving both of the a new loving home! I haven’t had an Argentine since I was a kid and I want another so bad! So hard to find!
I would be devastated if I had a fire and lost so many animals. It's nice that you and others were able to help youf friend. These boas are gorgeous! Definitely a new dream animal.
So sad what happened to such beautiful snakes, it’s amazing to see that Phoenix and Ember are both doing awesome in the zoo! I wish I could come visit but sadly I’m on the other side of the world :c Perhaps some day in the future!
I enjoy putting the facility update videos on in the background when I'm doing other things. I've been wondering if this video and the Pepsi fridge/incubator video were ever going to come out 🤣🤣
You should name the female Phoenix and the male Inferno! It’s so sad they had to go through that fire, but absolutely incredible how well they’ve recovered from it. Thank you for taking great care of them!
My childhood babysitter had a roommate with Iguanas, and they had a house fire... She lost them both, and they both lost the house :( I cannot imagine that pain. I'm so happy you guys are able to help these snakes
Beautiful snakes, saw an Argentine boa at tinley in October and it was big and beautiful. Sad situation though, hope everything works out for the best for all of the surviving snakes.

But the good side is that they are with you guys now and that we know they have an amazing home and a stress free life. Thank you guys for all of the good deeds and they joy you have caused. ❤🙂
Can't stop thinking about your neighbors taking a walk and seeing a giant snake roaming around your front yard
I love the way yall put this video together with the "before and after" scenario. It's awesome. Yall are so kind to the animals. I found your channel a few years ago watching a hognose video. I fell in love with them even though I've always been extremely frightened by snakes. I've been getting educated by your channel and my fears aren't as bad now. I dont think I'll be owning a reptile in the future but I've always loved viewing them, just not in the wild up close 😜 Thank yall for sharing your love for animals and educating us. My favorite videos are of course the hatchings, especially the cute hog noses ❤
I love the names and think that they are beautiful no matter how they look from scars. Thank you so much for caring for those beautiful reptiles and I hope that Ember and Phoenix live long, happy lives
All those poor snakes! Can't imagine what they went through. Really happy that you guys can help and give amazing homes to them, while also promoting acceptance and inspiring people to help another special needs pets 😁😁
On a side note, I never realized how long since I've been subscribed to the channel, I remember the video about treating the injured ball python
Beautiful snakes! So happy that they survived!
i do remember this, thank you for taking care of those snakes like you did!
Cant imagine what their previous owner went through specially losing a large variety of animals 😢 and those snakes are absolutely beautiful regardless of their injuries and love the name of them and phoenix huffing and puffing when you touched her and she does look pregnant
Love the names! I’m so glad hat they are doing well!
I'm sorry that happened to the previous owner 😔 but I'm glad you could help!
I love Boas! greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🎉🎉🎉
If they do have babies, they might need some Argentinian name suggestions.
Awe I love that his name is Ember! That's what I named my leopard gecko since he has a lot of pinks, yellows, and oranges 😄
So sad that they were given to you under such tragic circumstances but it's so exciting to see these guys.
I went through a house fire a little over a year ago, and I know just how scary it is. Losing everything. Thankfully, my collection was smaller, and I was able to get my pets to safety. (Except for one)
I'm glad you found names for them!
Ahhh ive been waiting this for ages !! Im so happy for them and that youve given them an amazing home
Phoenix is a great name! My first thought was Ember, just realised that’s the males name! What a gorgeous pair ❤️
You all made such an amazing enclosure for those boas!!!
Emily I am so proud of you and Ed for everything you do for this community! I look up to you guys ❤❤❤❤❤
I don’t know what we would do without you guys!
I loved seeing these two at the zoo over the summer-they are even more gorgeous in person. And they do seem to LOVE their big fancy enclosure!
what amazing survivors! Zuko and Azula would be perfect names for them :)
The name "Phoenix" fits her perfectly 🥰 💞
Boas are amazing! I’ve seen Argentine boas on 1softkiss channel. They are so big! Thanks for being such a good friend to these snakes it is so so sad they were burned in the fire. Their enclosure has a great and they are a wonderful addition to your animal center ❤
They are so gorgeous. She would suit London because of the great fore of London. They are absolutely amazing as well as you. I can't believe how much you do for animals, they are lucky to have you.❤
This story reminds me of a local highschool here in Australia that had a really awesome reptile room with all sorts of pythons, lizards, turtles and more which caught fire due to a faulty wire, they lost so so much and the survivors had so many health issues. Thank you guys for helping these special needs reptiles!
I remember you talking about the fire in a video a long time ago, softly after I first found your channel. I can't believe it's been so long
Thank you for updating us on the boas!
Hello snake Discovery I love your videos and how kid-friendly they are but still entertaining and educational thank you for being so awesome
The boers are beautiful
love everything you guys do!!! i’m so happy that you could help your friend, hope he is ok now 😘
Your male boa is absolutely gorgeous.
Definitely a new dream animal.
thank you for always blessing us with videos at the perfect time! ❤❤
Phoenix and Ember are awesome names
So sad what happened to such beautiful snakes, it’s amazing to see that Phoenix and Ember are both doing awesome in the zoo!
I wish I could come visit but sadly I’m on the other side of the world :c
Perhaps some day in the future!
I remember the house fire it’s really hard to lose it their animals Thank you for being amazing people.
I love ember so much, He's precious. He's cute as heck with his little derpy mouth
I enjoy putting the facility update videos on in the background when I'm doing other things. I've been wondering if this video and the Pepsi fridge/incubator video were ever going to come out 🤣🤣
The Snake Discovery zoo just keeps getting better and better, it's great to see animals go to a new home.
You should name the female Phoenix and the male Inferno! It’s so sad they had to go through that fire, but absolutely incredible how well they’ve recovered from it. Thank you for taking great care of them!
The boy's name is Ember and the girl is Phoenix
Does nobody watch the video till the end???
My childhood babysitter had a roommate with Iguanas, and they had a house fire... She lost them both, and they both lost the house :(
I cannot imagine that pain. I'm so happy you guys are able to help these snakes
Omg please be gravid I'd be SO EXCITED to see Argentine babies!!!!
They're both so beautiful, thank you for showing us xx
I know nothing, but I hope gravid. They have strong survivor genes to recover from that fire. Gotta pass those on!
I was wondering when this video would come out. I hope your friend is doing well. You two are guardian angels for those poor snakes
Also, Im voting gravid. She looks like the other snakes when they have eggs. If not that is a BIG poop.
Beautiful snakes, saw an Argentine boa at tinley in October and it was big and beautiful. Sad situation though, hope everything works out for the best for all of the surviving snakes.
Great name suggestions but the snakes already have names
@@mtop9152 what are they?
@@mtop9152 nevermind
I love this story and seeing them in their zoo enclosure!
I'm so glad Pheonix was gravid and has had her babies!! 22 is so many!
Really cool to see how the animals use their enclosures! Would love to see more of those kinds of videos..like how the animals act and why etc. 😊
My heart broke for the last owner. Horrible way to loose not just your home but you pets! :( Thankfully they had such good friends! ❤️
Really wanna know if she's gravid or just needs to poop 😂🥰
