- If you are experiencing an issue where you only get blower motor function at the highest speed, most of the time it is caused by a failed blower motor resistor. This video will show you how to replace the blower motor resistor on your KIA vehicle.
Just changed out my ac resistor on my 2015 Kia Sorento. Great video. Step-by-step . Saved me $220 that the local shop wanted to charge me. Thanks for the video. 🤑🤑🤑
Outstanding tutorial! Good camera work, good instructions. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you sir. This video saved me a bunch of money. My 2013 KIA SORENTO air would only blow on the highest setting. After finding and watching this video i ordered a resistor from Amazon for $16. And it took me 12 mins to swap out. And i didnt have some of the more versatile type tools. I had a stubby Phillips head and a $30 drill gun.

Thank you .. 🎉❤
How do i leave you a donation? I dont see a domation button???
Thank you!! I am glad that this video was able to save you a costly repair!! If you go to the video, right on the bottom there is a "give thanks" option where you can leave a donation! and I really appreciate it so much! 🙏🏻
Great video. I had the same thing happen to my 2011 Sorento...the fan only worked on 4. I was surprised by how easy the connector came off but getting the screws off required some contortion. I think I'd remove the passenger seat if I had to do it over again. At least it works now.
Contortion is the keyword🤣.
How long are the resistors supposed to last? I watched the video and recently replaced one now I'm having the same problems one two and three nothing but four full blast
How do you tell if it's the resistor or if it's just the motor blower itself
That is what I would like to know as well
Basically if the blower works but only on one speed (typically high) but overall sounds normal it'll be the resistor. If the blower is making grinding sounds or not blowing at all, it will be the blower motor. @@christophertracy2807
Thank you having the identical blower fan speed issue;... fan only on high....!
found this exact problem looks like a poor/failed solder joint and re soldered the connection on the Resistor and the fan speeds are back...!
What is the part number for the Resistor, I have a 2014 Kia Sorento
I have this same problem right now...ac only work on high speed..1.2.3 doesn't work only 4. Thanks much 🙏
Are the Sorento's similar to the Sedona's of the same year?
Rear vents not blowing at all, but the front are, no matter the setting. Blower works fine. I replaced the resistor and the problem still exists. I dont believe im getting power from the cable that plugs into the resistor. Any ideas where to look or what to try next? TIA
I do not have access to a wiring diagram at the moment for the vehicle, but I believe for vehicles equipped with rear HVAC, there is probably another blower motor and resistor for the rear hvac, for independent blow speed control. Let me look up the wiring Diagram, and I will get back with you
Thanks!
Thank you brother!
What there blower function at any speed? I tried checking the fuses and relay and they seem ok.
After replacement im not getting low fuel light and the water of wipers is not working... is it because i missed removing the negative pole from battery? What can it be?
I have a 2016 KIA Sorento and the blower does not blow, but I had it checked and it works. It didn't work at any speed. The relay and fuse were tested and are fine. What would be the main problem of all this problem? I forgot to say that it doesn't work on high speed.
So it works on every speed but HIGH speed?
I replaced the thermostat in my wife's 2016. Kia sorento, it blows a little heat. Then starts blowing cold, ive repeated the thermostat 2 times but still blowing cold air What do I check now
first make sure both heater hoses in the firewall are both hot to the touch when the vehicle reached operating temperature, and that the thermostat is functional. If that is okay, the your issue could be a Blend door actuator that is not switching from hot to cold, or vice versa, causing those issues
Im having the same issue with my 2016 kia sorento and ita causing it to overheat
I have replaced the resistor, replaced the motor, checked fuses and relays, power wire to blower motor not getting juice. What can cause this. Ac compressor turns on but no blower power?
Have you checked the HVAC Module power and grounds?
@@RodriguezRepairs the air controls? Or is there a hvac module somewhere?
@@RodriguezRepairs actually yes it is new as well. I turn on the control and I can hear the compressor turn on but no air. I ran a test on the blower mototr it work. I checked the lines to the blower motor and it isnt getting power.
These Chinese resistors not always work , I would try with OEM part.
Great video
Thanks! Glad you found it useful!
thaaaaaaaaaank you for this
No problem!
Excellent video.
Thank you.
Glad you liked it!
Great video thanks!

Rodriguez rules.
Thank you sir!
Nice job
Thanks!
Thanks
I can see my resister - it looks like this but it is bright green; not black
i don't have screw to loose my car 2016
2016 is way different
What about not getting power to blower motor after everything is replaced? I didn’t see a response to that from what @Carlos Faina asked
Was that the initial problem before replacing the Blower motor resistor? There was no power to the blower motor itself?
What was the outcome of this? I have similar issues.
