    “My therapy is motorcycles.” Says it all, you made the right decision - zero doubt you're gonna have a blast on that new baby! I spend too much legit time in the dirt to go the PP route, otherwise I’d have made the same choice. Congrats!!

      Am I the only one that heard “My therapy is motorcycles” and pictured Rembo lying on a chaise lounge and next to him a motorcycle dressed in a tweed suit making notes?

    Totally agree about the buying of a bike being an emotional purchase. Like you it’s good for my mental health as well. When I ride I forget everything else, and focus on being in the moment. The rush when you twist the throttle is the best drug ever. Looking forward to seeing you get it and posting your review.

    I own a 22’ V4S and like it better than the 22’ PP. I’m 6’6”, so comfort and being use to a 19” front wheel makes sense to me. Plus, the suspension on the PP is super stiff, again set up for the track and not long distance touring, the V4S makes sense to me. If I were to get a PP for fun, Id get a used 1200 or 1260. The 390 is a bike that undersized humans can ride. Me, Id look like a circus bear on that little thing. Its so cute. 😂

      I have not touched a PP, but of what I have read, I thought the suspension could be electronically adjusted to a soft ride. Please provide more information is possible.

      Suspension is definitely suit to taste. Have had mine for 5000kms and had 600km days without issue. And it rocks.

    Good call! I have had my PP for a month and almost 1000 miles. Comfort and handling better than anything out there. I mentioned how this is not a fiscal choice, but you’re similar to me in that this is my vice. If you can handle the cost, buy the bike you want. Only so many years left to experience these great bikes!

    • @MattTCfarm
      @MattTCfarm 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can you compare the PP to a touring bike, short of a wider seat? That is, everything seems to make the PP seem to be the bike anyone should want to take on a 10,000 road trip. Can you agree? Also, can the suspension be softened, electronically?

    • @jeffjohnson2349
      @jeffjohnson2349 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MattTCfarm This bike can have panniers and be used on long trips. Sport touring is more accurate and this bike is sporty. I love it since a Pikes Peak doesn’t mean small like every other sport or naked standard bike. I have a Yamaha MT-10 hyper naked bike and it is sporty, but quite small. Harleys and other big bikes can be nice for touring, but I’ve owned many street bikes and dirt bikes and the Pikes Peak is a bigger bike. Great for guys over 6’ tall. Nothing matches the performance and handling of a bike this size that is super comfortable. It is not too stiff either. I’ve heard that and it’s BS. This bike has multiple suspension settings and the Ohlins are exceptional!

    Do what makes you happy buddy 👍🏼I just purchased a Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer which I think is an awesome bike but its not a Ducati. I miss my Xdiavel. Think I might have to buy a streetfighter just for fun around town and keep the Tiger for longer distance trips and adventures. Cheers and ride safe!

    I received my PP earlier this month and cannot recommend it higher. I rode the MTS V4S demo bike and almost canceled my order but being a very long term client of Santa Barbara Ducati, Dyno Cycle ring a bell, I decided to finally go with it once it showed. Seeing it in person sealed the deal. Also SBD and the PP are the history of this bike and he was my friend so there will be a #5 on this bike once I cover the #1.
    Anyways I have owned many Ducati's and raced several high end ones but have never ridden a better bike HANDS DOWN.. You will not be disappointed

    Speaking to my local Ducati store about the full race system, the map and the 'RACE EVO' mode on the PP, he told me that you can 'buy' the RACE EVO mode for the V4, not sure what it gives you, something about drift control, supermoto stylee? Also reading about removing the baffles from the full system, give it more throat.

  • @CurvedSlightly
    @CurvedSlightly 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Don't blame you, dude, the PP does look awesome. You've got to keep your interest up and to do that, you need to keep changing bikes, I can see why you've kept the V4S for so long. I'd love to try the PP and make a choice either way. I still think I'd come down on the V4. I'm looking at off road and that will be keeping my interest in my V4S. I'm not so much into track days, and the PP wouldn't be that capable off road. If you come to sell the PP, it will be worth more than you paid for it because someone will want one now and be willing to pay for it especially if it's got everything on in including the race pipes, so you won't have taken much of a hit, if any!

    You’ve made the right decision my friend, you’re going to love this bike.
    Please don’t put panniers or a center stand on the Pikes Peak though! Get a decent chain and lube, you won’t need to spend too much time on it, thus eliminating the need for the centre stand. Your dealer will give you a free paddock stand if you ask nicely!
    And there’s plenty of decent soft luggage out there for trips, such as the SW Motech range, which suits the PP really well.

    • @RemboUSMC
      @RemboUSMC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you. I will ask the dealer.

    • @yojimbo21
      @yojimbo21 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Why wouldn’t you get panniers? On they match the bike and offer plenty of storage, off they don’t change the aesthetics in any way. And you can’t tell the center stand is there. Makes life easier in so many ways.

    Welcome to the club! I love my '22 MTS Pikes Peak. At 53, I've been riding since I was 12, starting out on a '75 Hodaka 125cc Wombat for the dirt, and got my m/c street license at 16 on a '73 Honda CB350 Twin.
    My only comfort complaint with the PP is the seat. At 6'1", the handlebar spacing and footpeg position are great, but I spend too much time moving around on the saddle during long rides - maybe it's the foam? Anyways, going to order a Corbin saddle. Also, are you going to move the Touring shield from the V4S over to the PP? I replaced the stock PP shield with the accessory Touring shield and I'm very happy with it at highway cruising speeds.

While price is not a big constraint for me I am questioning the wisdom in spending 30k for a motorbike. I know buying motorbikes is never a rationale decision. Also I did not have a motorbike for past 10years and its a come back for me. Can I be happy with a 2016 or 2018 model year is the question for me. :)

I think it’s common for people to “write off“ any motorcycle that has been in an accident, but in this case, every single component was changed on the front end and I have really push this by hard and don’t have anything as much as a small vibration in the front.
