rajan nakarmi on certain vehicles it does, in my case it doesn't. The car detects to see if my key is inside the car, hence why I couldn't lock myself out. So because it doesn't detect a key, it won't remote start.
Watched this video again and surprised to see my own comment before 3 years ☺️. One problem with Bluetooth dongle is that i cannot pair the car stereo using the same phone. Wifi dongle will be the best alternative.
Gracias Armando! I just received my obdlink and connected to my 2012 maxima and it works perfectly . Now I'm going to download the remote ex app.. thanks again for the video 👍🏽
The Bluetooth and wifi versions are actually for different phones; the Bluetooth one doesn't work with iPhones because of firmware limitations put in place by Apple.
Nice. Now imagine your going out tonight, you leave your home and disconnect from Wi-Fi, tasker sets Wi-Fi off and starts testing nearby Bluetooth, once it is in range it unlocks the car, turns on the lights. Once your connected to the car BT tasked triggers an intent for waze to start navigation on the fastest route to your destination...if you can think it , you can do it
Hey Armando! In theory the Torque App could support Android Auto and it should be possible to show all of this directly on an Android Auto head unit (like e.g. the Pioneer AVIC-4100NEX). Have not found any hints that the app will support Android Auto in the near future. Any ideas from your side regarding this?
I just bought some of the commands for a 2013 Altima and it works great! Is there a function that will let me remote start? The actual key for the car does have remote ignition if that makes a difference.
I have a Lincoln Continental with a Ford 4.6, a Buick Lacrosse with GM 3800 L26, and Pontiac Grand am with GM L32 and Bluetooth works on all three cars comfirmed.
The engine doesn't need to be running. You just need the key in the on position. If your car's push to start, just press the start button without pressing the brake pedal.
The video is quite good and very informative as well but you have extreme focusing issues with this type of setup fix that and it's a go keep up to good work I am a long time fan of yours
my father has a VXDAS nexzscan ,it works so well and cheaper than OBDLINK,I’d like to see a comparison of VXDAS Nexzscan and obdlink, along side dealer-level or shop diagnostic tools for fairness.
What is the bluetooth range? For instance, if you are in a store/restaurant/home and it is really cold outside and you want to start your car to get it warm, how far away can you be before it loses connection?
It's not far, if you're inside your house it shouldn't be a problem. If you're in a store restaurant I don't think it would work unless you're about 150-200 feet away from the car. If you want range, go for the Wifi version.
***** only the newest cars are going to have this level of access exposed from the body control computer. I can't do most of this in 99% of cars with our $9000 Snap-On scanner.
I bought an adapter for my Civic '97 earlier this year, Sadly my car doesn't have an ODB port. Did some research, and found out it depends on what country the car was manufactured in.
Blue tooth is not more expensive than wifi. They cost the same to manufacture in this application. There are more advantages to the particular wifi 2525 ic they use for these but the average user wont know the difference. I will tell you that you if you're not a tech guru or at least have a techy best friend you need to get the bluetooth version. If you're using a smartphone or tablet that is NOT your primary phone then you should get a wifi version. If you connect via wifi, your phones mobile data network doesnt work because it thinks you're on wifi. There are a couple of work arounds at least on the Android OS but they're pretty advanced setting changes. On the flipside, pairing to this thing via bluetooth causes the same issue with the hands free phone and audio you're normally paired with while driving. Best solution is to use an old spare phone or purchase a cheap data ready tablet.
I researched a bit online and see that only the OBDLink Wi-Fi supports Apple's iOS. You're using the bluetooth version to control the vehicle and display info, any idea if the wi-fi version works the controller part too? Also, I believe the OBD Fusion app would be the iOS version of your Android OBD app. Reading the description, not sure if it implements the EX controller settings.
Great video. Unrelated topic, but where did you get the roof and logos done in black? Is it vinyl or plasti-dip? I'm also in the SoCal area and I'm looking to get some stuff done to my '15 lexus.
Can you set time to start your car automatically with this? I'm looking for something that will start my car in the morning to heat up my car in the winter while i get ready.
cool stuff, but isnt that what the keyfob is basically for? to unlock ans lock your doors, panic button for the horn and automatic start. all comes with my 2014 altima SV. only thing i dont have is the fog lights but every other thing that app can do, i think the keyfob pretty much got that covered.
Wow..nice stuff...I also have a vehicle with 99 thousand extras...but this tool would allow me to not pay the $10 U-Connect fee...and have just about all the tools I need..like unlock especially...I cant really lock myself out by leaving the keys inside...but I can lose my keys and need to get in my Truck...and the diagnostics would enable me to know what up before going to the shop...NICE....One confusing point...was the Nisan app...are there apps for all makes and models?...If not then a waste of time other than having diagnostics...I really dont need to double my Tachometer lol...and you didnt give any kind of pricepoint on the main box that plugs in...I guess the link will take me there..Thanks Armondo
i could see this being a lot more useful if it allowed you to lock and unlock automatically as you approached or departed the vehicle, or let you set macro's for certain scenarios. biggest problem i had with the bluetooth OBD dongle was it would kill my battery after several days
Very interesting to further my hunch of my stalkers running my car to even steering. 2 cars in this high school parking lot mine and parked one 200 feet away. There's no fucking I'm on the Truman show an not getting paid because I drove car at slow speed and sure enough when I got to about 20 feet from other car in this giant lot hands off the steering creeps a little literally tyr itself into directly into the passenger front tire dead on.fuck that
In this video, I will show you how to control many parts of your car with your Android phone!
Does it let you start the car? *****
rajan nakarmi He said for some possibly yes
rajan nakarmi on certain vehicles it does, in my case it doesn't. The car detects to see if my key is inside the car, hence why I couldn't lock myself out. So because it doesn't detect a key, it won't remote start.
Dead bodies lol ....nice Phone I have the HK v.
***** Did you accidentally throw the phone in instead of the keys? lol. Anyway, great video, and thanks for sharing.

Great video! I always enjoy seeing what you are doing with automation
I love this video! I look forward to many more Armando!
can you start the car with your apps I have seen a key in the app?
The Bluetooth and wifi versions are actually for different phones; the Bluetooth one doesn't work with iPhones because of firmware limitations put in place by Apple.

Car looks good Armando! I regret not getting the gum metal wheels on my Maxima.
I had to get the Sport package :) Wish the wheels were a bit wider but they are nice for being stock.
***** do you still have your audi from past videos or did you sell it?
Nice. Now imagine your going out tonight, you leave your home and disconnect from Wi-Fi, tasker sets Wi-Fi off and starts testing nearby Bluetooth, once it is in range it unlocks the car, turns on the lights. Good work. It is very comprehensive

Great video man!
Does this remote start BMW's or Audi's too?
Eric Schraud probs won't work on audi considering they use vagcom

nice max and awesome video.... keep em coming bro.
Amazing video and car. Congratulations :)
Nice Maxima Armando!
Good video. Please stop asking : what’s up?
Would the advanced features somehow work on a BMW E46?
Are you able to turn on the car with that app?
It's super cool ! I love the idea ! But as you sais the developer will need to check couples things on prices
I have a Lincoln Continental with a Ford 4.6, a Buick Lacrosse with GM 3800 L26, and Pontiac Grand am with GM L32 and Bluetooth works on all three cars comfirmed.
Great video, this is awesome stuff! :)
Car looks great bro. Quick question for you. Did you plasti dip the roof and chrome accents or did you paint?

Please way more of such videos :)
I do have the torque app and I would love to see what you could do with it. Great video, makes me want to get a Nissan
Dose it work with any obd scanner tools or just with obdlinke ex ?
my father has a VXDAS nexzscan ,it works so well and cheaper than OBDLINK,I’d like to see a comparison of VXDAS Nexzscan and obdlink, along side dealer-level or shop diagnostic tools for fairness.

you cant start the car with this app :)
dunworry nope, you need a different app. Sadly, it's only for specific vehicles and mine isn't one.
***** only the newest cars are going to have this level of access exposed from the body control computer. I can't do most of this in 99% of cars with our $9000 Snap-On scanner.
***** don't you have the factory remote start in your car? I have a 2014 Altima and have remote start.
it will be useful if it turns the car on. I can see myself using it in the winter. Does it do that?
I neeeeed one ;D
Mohammed Mahboob I have OBD that reads the fault codes only. It is handy and i like it.
yo.. did you use plasti dip to do your window sil .. pant over all the chrome? or did you have a shop paint it?
Is there a Remote ex available for BMWs?
Awesome video man
Nice presentation also. Thanks
I bought an adapter for my Civic '97 earlier this year, Sadly my car doesn't have an ODB port. Did some research, and found out it depends on what country the car was manufactured in.
Did you already have remote start on the max?

Nice. Is this app available for iOS?

Just ORDERED! 2011 MAXIMA SV PLATINUM! whats good 7GM!
Great video. Unrelated topic, but where did you get the roof and logos done in black? Is it vinyl or plasti-dip? I'm also in the SoCal area and I'm looking to get some stuff done to my '15 lexus.
Is it possible to download the app to your memory card or does it not allow it.
That works for all tipe cars? And is the one you can change the millage?
Where does the dongle supply itself with energy from when the car is off? Also is it detrimental to the car? Good video Btw.
What is your headlight and fog light set up? Love how the dogs start yellow and fade to green. And the blue headlights are nice

Hey, what is your car for a Modell? Bj. 2016?
Does leaving that obd2 thing plugged in drain your car battery a lot?
No, it uses very little battery and I mean very little. I went to Hawaii and was gone for 8 days, came back car fired right up.
Hey man how did you black out your handles, decals and handles did you use plastidip or vinyl or something else?
Tommy Faulkender Vinyl wrapped
Armando Ferreira cool thanks man

Help me can't we use wired connection instead of Bluetooth or WiFi... ??
Are those wheels 19s or 20s
Where did you get those head lights . I’ve been looking for them
Hey I have question, would this also allow for coding on your vehicle or no?
Is it controlling windows also.
Anything like that remote ex app for other cars?
cool stuff, but isnt that what the keyfob is basically for? to unlock ans lock your doors, panic button for the horn and automatic start. all comes with my 2014 altima SV. only thing i dont have is the fog lights but every other thing that app can do, i think the keyfob pretty much got that covered.
I think the point is if you have a dead key fob or dead security system like I do you don't have to pay $500 to have it replaced.
