Cool! I bought a cheap eBay PMA-5 with some odd issues, haven't investigated it too much, assumed it needed a recap but maybe it has a flakey backup battery. I guess they soldered it because it's being moved around a lot, for durability to not lose data.

Is there any error showing on screen when powering on?
