Considering building a 16” 300 blackout and suppressing it using subs. I hear a lot of people saying not to because they will be supersonic even using subs because the 16” barrel speeds it up past super but the rifle in the video sounded absolutely perfect. Any input is appreciated!
I don’t know for sure, but I suspect that factory subsonic ammo is made to be subsonic in 16” barrels. I’ve seen some velocities in shorter barrels, and they are really slow, like 900 fps in some cases. Of course, if you handload you can dial them in to whatever you want.
Subsonic 300 Blackout is designed to be fired from an SBR suppressed at CQB. I initially thought about getting a PSA 16" barrel with the pistol length gas system. But I think a shorter barrel of 10.5" or 11.5" max would be more beneficial with a Can under CQB to maintain close quarters maneuverability and less interference. If you are simply getting one for home defense, I would stick with a 12 gauge shotgun with a red dot mounted on it.
You can get fmj 300 blk out ammo for around 50 cents in bulk should start to get cheaper as it gains in popularity I least I hope cause it kills the wallet let me tell you lol
I've seen more recent videos that are reporting that suppressors are not sufficient to reduce the blast from supersonic rounds enough to make them hearing safe. EpicXXProductions 300 blackout is only better with subsonic loads. If you compare them a 300 blackout is about $1.00 a round while a .223 can be about $.40.
MrWalkwaySc2 I pay 26 cents each for .223. That's not my concern though, I just don't understand why someone would want to replace .223 with 300 aac. .223 is known by its accuracy, recoil, carry weight, trajectory and wound characteristics to be the best battle ammo for close to mid range combat. I don't see how subsonic ammo would do you any good in the military either, all that's doing is killing your range, accuracy, and bullet energy.
I talked to a gun shop owner about a 300bo and he said it's pretty much useless to silence this, well compared to the pistol setup it probably "louder" but I'm glad I watched this
I did some research. Those two liters were training to be Shakespearean actors, and actually used your video as an audition to get hired for stage work. Their death scenes went on to get rave reviews from local reporters in various plays! But seriously, that was a good video, I’m sure I am not the only one to learn a lot while really enjoying it. Weird question for you, I know your a taller man and a fine shot. I enjoy your videos and love your contribution to the gun life. I'm 7 foot 1 and really want a lever action in 357 magnum. Do you have any recommendations as to which model might provide me with the most natural/enjoyable experience? Shooting is an activity that truly love and gives me an opportunity to not be interrupted while doing.
LIke me, you are accustomed to adapting to the size of things. I think you'd do fine with any full size lever gun; you just need a good butt pad extender. The biggest problem is getting more length on the stock so that your face and eye is better positioned in relationship to the sights. With a slip-on stock extension, you'd probably enjoy about any of the Winchesters or Marlins, or clones of them. Hard to beat a Winchester Model 73 or 86. A Marlin Model 94 is great, too, but they can be smallish. Even the classic Model 92 is one you'd probably like if you got it in full length barrel.
Pretty much the most serious crime committed with a suppressor is poaching, and many countries allows suppressors anyway without much poaching going on.
Tqtrpiypuu I was aware of that, I really wish we'd change the laws here and get the cost of them down. My neighbors would sure appreciate it if I could afford suppress my guns... But luckily for me I have great neighbors, and I can still shoot loud all I want, I just let them pop off a couple every now and then. I also hate having to wear hearing protection while I shoot, it's uncomfortable, but I deal with it because I'd like to keep my nice acute hearing into old age. Maybe someday I will have the extra cash to get a suppressor on my AK... But they're so expensive (especially for what is essentially a tube with baffles in it, I mean come on...) I'd probably just buy another gun instead, hahaha.
I always remember when i watch movies that when there was silencers on guns you could hardly hear anything thing except a slight thud or click. In these guns there is still a fair loud sound.
+Zatracenec Fun fact, they are required in certain circumstances in Norway! We are as strict as the strictest American states but silencers are totally not regulated and for good reasons(no hearing damage). US has much better over all gun laws but on silences they are oddly idiotic. And before somebody asks; Yes we have AR's in Norway too.
+Nico By Sound suppressors became illegal/restricted during the Great depression. The government was afraid poachers would use it to illegally over hunt.
For anyone wondering, you can easily convert any AR15 to shoot .300 AAC....all you do is get a new barrel. As you saw the Blackout fits in standard AR mags, because I believe it's basically a .223/5.56 casing with a .308 bullet. As far as function, I think it's a perfect hybrid of an AR platform with AK knockdown/penetration. And i've heard that the .300 AAC is REALLY PICKY ABOUT MAGS, i heard one guy say p-mags don't work at all for him...but it's not the magazine completely, it's the whole cartridge too. Reloading .300 would be super cheap (that's "regular" supersonic)...not sure if subsonic would be as easy as i think, but i would just buy them. Lucky I live in a state where I can legally own a suppressor..

Unless its the welrod...
@@ZombieWilfred move to texas and build your own.
it would be nice if that were an option everyone had.
Still fun in 2019!
Hick laughing never gets old….of all the reasons we own our weapons, the laugh is ever important
I always remember when i watch movies that when there was silencers on guns you could hardly hear anything thing except a slight thud or click. In these guns there is still a fair loud sound.
Which Pmags were you using? I found that the generation G3 mags work much better with the 300 blk than the G2 magpul mags.
Could you get an AAC Honey Badger for review/woods walk?
Crimes with suppressors are not non-existent....just nobody heard the shot and so nobody knows. :-D
+Zatracenec Same with knives, I suppose, too. Those darn suppressed knives are hard to detect! :-)
hickok45 Exactly! :-D I was just kidding. Great video BTW.

I´m not going to get political. It was just a joke.
The government was afraid poachers would use it to illegally over hunt.
hickock is the guy in our math problems when it comes to how many 2 letters he buys
Lucky I live in a state where I can legally own a suppressor..
is the 300 blackout similar to the .45 acp in that it is subsonic by nature? or do you have to buy subsonic specific 300 blackout
You have to buy subsonic. Regular 300 AAC is 2000+ fps and not subsonic thus quite a bit louder when shot through a suppressed rifle.
No stinking $200 stamp , finger prints nor waiting period in New Zealand !! Ha ha .
And probably no gun by now!
@@matthewcaldwell6767 Yep your right ! Our new communist government took the semi's. Even though 200,000 did NOT get turned in , a mini rebellion of sorts !

Those carpenters were making more noisy than he was.
@ 4:00 ive never seen an exploding 2 liter look so awesome! Also seeing the camera is going to actually make the shots sound louder than they are(like it makes loug shots sound quieter) that thing is impressive!
Really cool that you can clearly hear a difference.
This is my warzone loadout lmao he gots the mono,60 round mag, but no commando fore-grip or ranger fore grip. He is gonna have mad recoil.
"I'm from Kentucky, I can say that."
I think this is quieter than 5.56 suppressed
love that 'thud' sound the bullet makes when it contacts
Subsonic is to make the sound signature of the rifle quieter, the weight is to give it more kinetic energy. (slow and heavy rather than light and fast as hell)
It's pretty quiet.Sounds like a BB gun when firing.
