Sun Wukong is one of if not the strongest beings in fiction right under the heads of each religions pantheons.
He's so powerful and immortal that only Buddha himself could defeat him. He couldn't even be killed he had to seal him away.
Death no longer applies to him. He can't be killed no matter what. The three mystic hairs given to him can turn into anything he wants. He can conjure 40k clones from the hairs on his body each being as powerful as he is. He can shapeshift into various forms including a much more powerful version of himself.
He's boundless basically.
But like I said. The only beings strong enough to beat him are the pantheon heads including Shiva, Buddha, God, etc.

When he finally got out. He went on a journey with the Monk Xuangzang and achieved enlightenment making him just as powerful as Buddha himself.
There's a difference between strongest in the universe or multiverse.
And the strongest being in all of creation and every reality and timeline ever conceived. And that what Wukong is.
