What you are saying makes perfect sense even though I prefer to run quick connects for the reason you stated if the hose running into the reel blows out you are screwed but for future reference what size adapter did you use 1/2 inch down to 3/8? And did you have to have that fitting installed on the hose at a hose shop? I haven't seen a hose that comes that way before i do want to use this method for the reason you stated I could always have a spare with that fitting on it as one of my spares if I need to add extra hose my questions are to so sum it up what size adapter was that and what size fitting on the hose as well as can I purchase the hose that way if not is that something that can be done at home or do you have to have someone at a shop make it for you
I had my cheap northern tool hoses mounted with QD's and it ruptured at the bend coming out of the reel. So I direct mount mine now. I bought better hose, but still direct mounted it. Thanks again for another great video
Hey Michael, I resolve the kinking issue simply by turning the elbow so it runs in the direction of the spool. Then you can use a conduit type hold down near the connection and the hose can be transitioned onto the reel without any kink. This does allow for the use of quick connects without sacrifice.
hey Michael are you using a Cox reel 1125 series A frame hand crank hose reel?or something different cuz all I seen that it's max is 3000 psi and if I run a 4000psi wouldn't is damage it
benny morales . l was gonna ask the same question. l have 2 coxreels rated at 3,000 psi with a 4,200 psi 4gpm pressure washer. l was wondering if l could use a pressure gauge and dial it down so that l can use those reels.
@@J.Plunkett awesome. Thanks for the reply. I just started my business with the simpson 4240 4gpm washer and am now looking into hose reels for time management. Also looking at jrod and other softwash accessories. Still trying to figure out SH mix percentages and all that
