The fact that this is what ww2 pilots would see everytime they engaged in combat with one of the ships is terrifying.
Fortunately they did it with fellow pilots that actually coordinates and in large numbers

@@alexanderjones7769 that's like at max 20 pilots if it's a dive bomber for about 2000 ship crew and 30k tons of steel gone, and it was a common occurrence until proxy ammo is invented by US
@PiscesSoedroen yes and I would bet 10 planes is a very generous number considering the amount of fighters with lack of ordinance in the match that dove in at a 45 angle and died immediately and the lack of coordination. I would bet you could get that number pretty low with strict torpedo, dive or high level bombing and coordination.
I wish world of warships would update their damage models. Seeing cranes fly off the ships when they're damaged etc is so cool!
also world of warships its a hitpoints game, war thunder it's far more realistic :D

Thats, why i changed to wt (and other reasons) but im in 3.7 battles after playing 3 days, i like the game really (but Pilot/crew snipe ann nn ooooyyyyiiinnngg)

@@LeroxYT you'll stall out on progress at about 5.0 ish, my advice is to swap nations and figure out which one you like before committing
First, you can control the Main guns, secondary guns and AA guns by pressing alt 1,2,3. Also in the settings you can set up controls to have guns target a certain plane. For example I have X + 1,2,3 to have my weapons attack certain targets.
You can do this even in console versions btw.

Gearing would be the best Destroyer, three turrets holding six high Y axis main guns with prox ammo and a whole boat of AAA. Atlanta could also be a good AA ship, same high Y axis main guns except there is now eight turrets of them for a total of 16 guns with the same prox ammo. Key bind your guns so they can fire a single ranging shot so you don't waste your entire volley and now you have a auto cannon 127mm gun. Aircraft don't survive.
There was a famous group of Australian Ships during WW2 Know as the Scrap Iron Flotilla as the were obsolete WW1 ships retrofitted and used by the Australians around Malta and the Mediterranean even undertaking the perilous job of helping to resupply Tobruk during the siege. One of the ships HMAS Water Hen known as Chook (Aussie for chicken) to her crew It took an attack from 37 Stuka's to sink her. The scrap Iron Flotilla is a fascinating story and well worth the effort to look into
Using Fritz bombs is probably a good idea since you can guide them in and was actually used to sink ship in ww2, one-shot bombing a italian battleship. B/T-18’s would probably be a good choice too, got very quick dive speeds and can carry both bombs and torpedoes.
RN Roma and HMS Warspite were hit by fritz Xs. They packed a punch.
Since Gaijin didn't model AP bomb penetration, Fritz-X is extremely limited in damage potential as the HE filler is way lesser than other bombs of the same size
Still better than not hitting the ships at all I suppose

@@Amexel Yeah, used to use it in naval and a Fritz-X couldn't even kill a destroyer like 90% of the times, im not even exaggerating
@@yesno-cu3ey but because the bomb is guided, it could be used from higher altitudes so that the plane wouldn't be as easily shot down, if used with the He 177 Greif which can carry three off them it would have been quite devastating if they would hit their targets
I knew that the USS Alaska would carry in the last normal round, the amount of AA that ship has is crazy
Too bad actual humans can't control the aa guns on the ships. It might have, probably would have helped.
Press Alt+2 and you can control AA guns on any ship

Players can operate AA guns on ships.
They can pick between their primary secondary and AA guns
I know not much people play ships, but if you check your naval controls, you can see "select weapon" key, you can use it for manual control AA end auxiliary guns, also some ships have tracking radar, proxy shell, minugun and missiles on it.
For balanced, IA AA gins have more difficult take down 1 plane then 3 or 5, also is super hard for IA take down dive bomber during dive

@@WeeeeeeWooooooo Thanks! the plane i was using (SB2U-3) doesn't have a bomber scope, so i had to angle my camera and guess where the bombs would go.
I’m surprised that no one once’s use the tiny Tim’s or the Fritz X to destroy the ships
First of all: naval players can take over control of their AA guns by setting a key binding to switch between them, they can also order the AI to target a specific plane with each type of guns ( i.e heavy AA guns target one, light AA guns target another etc)
Secondly some later blue water ships like USS Alaska have Air search and track radar that gives them a lead indicator.
Thirdly I noticed a lot of the plane players were taking fighters that have absolutely no secondary armament therfore being almost useless

I noticed that it seems like the ships are just straight lining it - but historically, and to my understanding, ships would be making sharp turns and evasive movements. Why weren't they doing this during this challenge?
Cause you don't deal with these in normal matches

I love how unlucky planes are just disintegrated as soon as they get too close
The fact that the most brutal battles of WWII was in the pacific theater is insane thousnads of planes and 10s of thousands of crew members being detonated exploded in such a big scale is insane and terrifying to think noone who enlisted knew it would be that bad

I think ships lost first round because players used a-1 sky raiders which are Vietnam war planes

the player can control the AAA by pressing Y then it shows up a multi function menu then press 4 weaponry and u can control diff weapons, primary and secondary and AAA

I love how cinematic you make your videos Muffin! It looks really good even though WT's replay system can be a little wacky.
1:28 In bluewater, the AA guns are usually ai controller. But if you manually select them in the weaponry menu, you can manually aim your AA guns.

FYI. You can control your secondary armaments/dual purpose guns and AA guns directly, depending on control set up, Alt+3 and Alt+2 depending on ship size and available weapons on said ships.
Also, equipping proxy fuze ammo on ships with it available WILL hurt planes

Was super fun being apart of the filming for this battle not sure if the battle I was luckily able to join was in it but was still super fun
The night battle looks like something out of battlefield this was sick
If not for the smoke from the plane this would have looked even more epic.
I got so many kills with proximity HE in that night fight. Fun stuff even though WT had a vendetta that day.

Coastal ships vs all Ground vehicles: This should be a more even matchup naval vs ground battle than the last two battles of such scenario and am interested to see how it goes.
Coastal vs Helicopters with unguided weapons
Coastal ships really just get like bofors or sometimes 76mm guns with low penetration aphe, it wouldn’t be fair

Why arent there modes like this in War Thunder rotation for Naval Mixed Battles. Like Have some Naval Fights with one team having light Fighter and Naval warships and the other having Aircraft to destroy them.
hell to balance, but to hell with balance, just come up with something wacky and let the community try it out, reserve tanks vs tigers, things like this
Gaijin used to put up random little events like "flight of the swallows" with 262s on one side and p51s-B17s on the other. German team was ofcourse smaller but it was fun. Also the occasional float plane battle. They dont do that anymore for whatever reason
@@CrazyDutchguys I know im just saying they should to make Naval a played game mode. And to make it so it isnt the same grind everytime. Random gamemodes would keep the game more interesting.

The only thing that gets me about this video is that most of the navel players weren’t using ships built for anti air ships like the Atlanta, pittsburgh or even the Alaska is better then some of the ships they were using.idk who thought it would be a great idea to bring battleships meant for ship vs ship battles to a air vs navel fight that’s like trying to shoot a bird with a tank it doesn’t make sense the only ships they should have brought where destroyers and light/ heavy cruisers anything bigger then that won’t be effective but still good job from both party’s none the less

This is what WT should have been! AI controled gunners at night might have given the boats an advantage...but the brave pilots gave their all! Just to think how scary it was in real life!!! Glad I didn't have to exerience it!!! Great job guys!!!
Derp vs autoloaders.
Anything over 120mm is considered derp and anything that has a reload of less than 3-4 seconds.
There are 5-10 tanks on both sides in the battle with 1.0-10.0 in the same battle.
It be funny to see a sturmpanzer knock out a Top tier vehicle

i feel like you should have diferentiated the different kinds of blue water ships because the big ones have a ton more anti air. also in naval you can control 1 type of gun at a time and you have 3 its alt+1,2, or 3
You can turn on control over main and secondary guns at the same time
The crew voices made me think my parents aware arguing in the other room or sum 😂

Surprised the only used the USS Atlanta once. It was designed as Anti Air Cruiser and could give the planes a real headache.
You should do blue water vs ground but with teams first round everyone is in ships trying to win control of the sea then if one team loses they are forced to fight from the ground to repel in a small invasion force while the team that one still keeping some ships offshore for fire support for their invasion team if they repel the invasion they can chose to fight the ships offshore with planes or back to ships
i was one of the people that got kicked out a lot and i only got to play for like 4 minutes but this looks epic

I wish when ppl played together in a squad when a squadmate died instead of going to the view battle screen or the hangar it would be cool if they could get put into the surviving person's tail gunner if they got enough points or kills. Just a thought.

I'm surprised there weren't any He-111 h6 or He-177 A-5's armed with fritz at this event unless you specifically banned climbing to 4,000m or greater? One of my favorite methods of getting rid of alaska, kronstadt, or bb's and light cruisers in general during enduring confrontation naval.
bombing moving ships at a high altitude is very difficult
i didnt parcipate in the event but it took me several days to learn how to lead a ship to bomb it
even with the 5000kg bomb

anti air can be controlled by a player while the ai does main cannons this can be done through the multi function menu. you can also use this to contoll just the machine gun and not the turret on a tank
need a Fuso and Baltimore in there.... Wish i could have come. could have tried the baltimore and fuso out in this lol.
Next time you guys should do all the planes at once
