Absolutely one of my favorite shows, ever - but they’re almost at the point of needing a Y2K episode. Losing two major characters, on top of everything else - is insurmountable. I’ve never been a Judd Hirsch fan, but it is surprising how well his stepped-up role has come off.

I love Jeff on Curb and his character is clearly missed on the show. It's tough to pivot losing an character like the "dad" on a sitcom from the 80's where a lot of the tropes they used were based on a "dad" character and his interactions. Regardless, the writers are doing their best with the current roster.

You can survive a cast change. Shelley Long leaving Cheers didn't hurt because Kirstie Alley stepped in and was great. Aunt V became a completely different person on the Fresh Prince and the show thrived even though the character change was a bit to get use to. Roseanne survived a Becky change. That 70s show lost Laurie and tried to change but it didn't work though the show continued to flourish without any Laurie. The original Laurie was great for the show though.

      Why not just ‘don’t watch’?
I find it so silly, when people hate on a show so much, they want to take it from everyone else. As if, everyone should adhere to YOUR tastes.
I’m glad it went 10 seasons, as it will only help it stay alive in syndication.
Don’t like it? Don’t watch it.

It's disappointing when a show you're a fan of turns crappy. You have a right, as a fan of that show, to air your frustrations. I can't do that as I was never a fan of the show. Just interested in why Garlin was let go because of being a fan of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

I can understand not 'being able to' talk about it due to the show still going and publicity and NDAs, etc.. But everyone (except whoever is in the wrong) benefits from knowing what happened. All I know is that this sitcom had an actor on it that made jokes people couldn't handle, so he got fired for it. So it sounds like he's in the right because people around him were too sensitive. Did he harass anybody? Did he touch anyone inappropriately? That's the narrative I've been given and led to believe. So if that's not the case, if that's not the truth, yes, it would be beneficial for the truth to be heard, or at least get the details from all sides.
But, again, maybe that's just the business talking through her and everyone can speak freely after their corporate overlords no longer control them.
This is a good start though, a nice revelation, that she is glad he was gone. Another piece of the puzzle emerges.
Abuse and bad things will continue to happen because people keep quiet about it.

    • @larahall5910
      @larahall5910 ปีที่แล้ว +12

Everyone does not benefit from continuously talking about Jeff. As a crew member for the past 3 years on The Goldbergs, who handled Jeff's clothes, I can say first hand that there were so many incredible memories and amazing friendships made during the 10 years of filming this show. The continued focus on Jeff, and this topic going around in circles, takes away from that. And why would the victims want to come forward publicly just to be bullied even further by people on social media who were never even close to being on our set? He left precisely because people were not quiet about the abuse that was going on, so it thankfully did not continue to happen. This season has been such a happy experience, and that tone was set by Wendi's professionalism, class, and humor both on and off set.

Yeah we will never know what truly happened unless someone speaks up about it but until then I'm not taking sides until we here what really happened. Jeff seemed like he got along with everyone for a while based off behind the scenes stuff and I remember they were all on Family Feud and again it seemed like everyone got along but I guess at some point something went wrong. Who knows though. All I know is killing off Murray is what got this show got cancelled but they really should of ended the show when the real Adam left the series cause the show was never the same and the characters turned into caricatures of themselves. There was no more clips at the end and they stopped doing interviews with the real life people too. Even the real life Adam himself hasn't liked what the show has become like it's sad. Also I wonder how killing off Murray in the show effected the real Adam and his family especially since his father didn't die in real life until much later

@@larahall5910so, if you don’t mind answering, based on your apparent intimate proximity to this situation, would you say Jeff is not as good of a person that we, as fans, believe him to be? It’s hard to know morally what I should feel when I can’t confirm the truth for myself. I also know that the people who have experienced seemingly “bad behavior” might have a totally different definition of offensiveness than I do, so really there’s no way for me to know unless I was there, like you say.
I suppose I just want to get an opinion from somebody behind the scenes who isn’t being guided by the media; somebody who may have a more objective view. But I understand not wanting to talk about it therefore I accept if you deny answering my question : )

Lies. No proof. Evidence shows that messiah story was stolen/reused from previous myths. No record of a Jesus Christ. Christians clumsily forged the name into accounts long after that purported time to try and make it look like that was an actual person with actual events. Even Christianity admits those were forgeries, yet still tells its followers to believe.
But, please, keep on spreading this stuff, it just easily tells me who you really are. @SuperNostalgia.

As far as the public knows, Garlin made jokes on set that made the cast feel uncomfortable. He may also have been too "familiar" with other cast members by giving people back rubs and such when they didn't want it. In response to the controversy Garlin basically said he's a comedian first and foremost, and that he didn't mean to hurt anyone. But that's all the public knows.

I love Jeff and im happy he still had his role on Curb but Wendy clearly has a high bar and I accept her evaluation of that specific situation. still love Jeff, and unrelated to him getting booted from that show...The Goldbergs had already jumped the shark years before.
