I am much younger than you guys, 53, I agree it's never too late. I am also learning alto sax. Grace is an great inspiration. Hope a time will come when we three could jam. Three...ahhh...mature guys. ✌🏽
I have played sax for 30yrs with some awesome musicians. I've played Georgia with some musical monsters. I've always played aggressive and ripped the altissimo register on this song. But this sax player gets it. let the horn do the work. your tone is impeccably awesome. and you layed back played the smart right notes and let the horn and the music do the work. sometimes I make things hard on myself because I try to simulate gerald albright and other sax monsters. But this horn player said forget that. Imma play Georgia my way. well done young lady. well done. the other musicians were awesome in supporting her following her and playing open chord progressions that allowed her to safely go where her ear took her and provided a complete sound. young lady don't change a thing the world needs to hear you. Not your interpretation of Davis sanborn David coz gerald albright Joshua Redman john Coltrane or any other sax player. looks like I've played longer than you've been alive and you taught me/reminded me. to just be me.
There are few events in life more interesting than watching great musicians working through an arrangement and appreciating each others skills and ideas. Brilliant. I can watch this for hours.
Solo clapping for Grace Kelly, and the other musicians. Praise God for the talent they have been given, the joy that they have shared, and for working through the equipment and algorithms that make it accessible to many. I miss going to Sunday night open house in Oakland, it's been many years.
This is what you get whern you have professional musicians in a studio. Brilliant sounds, superb music, and terrific improvisatiion from each musician. Awe inspiring !
This is one of my favourite songs. I remember the times i traveled around playing it. But all this also makes me so sad when watching what's going on in Georgia.
@Amish deviant with Herpes I think your response shows how weak you are. Given the things happening there is that all you can say? Either that or you are a russian propaganda bot. We all know by now that they are around.
@Cody Harbuck Look my family and people got their whole country taken away by communism. So i know very well what it is like. I agree with you that using neo-revolutionaries is never a good way to go. But one thing i can assure you, what's happening in america right now isn't some pre-revolutionary marxistic movement.
@Cody Harbuck There is a distinguished difference the left and the right. The thing is that leftist have been lurking in the peripheries for last 50 years. The democrats do use them from time to time, but when they try influence the main politics they get a slap over their fingers and a "back off". The alt right and republicans is another story. Alt. right in america have been patient and able to keep their position against a weakened republican party. The latest example is the Trump presidency. It's all clear now that republican's would even sell their own parents for the sake of keeping seats and power. So the difference isn't in what these outlying groups do, but rather what the main two parties let them do.
I can listen to this all day, I recently started playing Alto sax, in my old age 54 lol. I am going to get the sheet music and start learning this classic melody. all of you are such great muscisians wow. Vinny

Wow,..so mellow! I'm late to discovering this amazingly talented musician,....and I'm hooked, and now I am looking forward to catching up. I actually heard of her through the posts of the brass, Jazz band, Lucky Chops. Carry on.
I saw Grace Kelly live in Rancho Mirage last April. She can blow the horn and is incredibly entertaining. Really shows great personality and connection with the musicians and audience.
Saw her at a small college in Mississippi with an all-star female band; Dee Dee Bridgewater on vocals, Terri Lyne Carrington on drums, Geri Allen (RIP) on piano, and a then-unknown Esperanza Spalding(!) on bass!
Wow love this, I am trying to learn my Scales backwards and forwards even though in my old age it's boring, just to be honest, would love to play this great classic melody, vinny
You’ll get there man. It’s tedious stuff but try find the fun in it and try apply everything your learning musically as fast as you can no matter how basic
There is One of AMERICAS Greatest Drummers Tracy Alexander Son of the Famed Legendary Mousie Alexander Whom I had the extreme pleasure of having 3 Private lessons when he came to Hartford to See Al Cardello Drum Shop and LePaks Drum Shop These were My Golden Years. Tracy who studied under his dad for many many years and Well just listen for yourself Now thats Smooth
This Chick is fine as Hell. She played with Phil Woods when she was a kid. You can hear the influence in her playing. I think Phil dug Benny Carter. So, in an essence, Grace Kelly is also influenced by the Great Benny Carter. Love this version of Georgia on my Mind.
Fantastic young player. Wanna see lot more? Go to Sant Andru High School -Barcelona, esp checkout Rita Payes singing great standards and playing trombone at FOURTEEN years old. Like a pro. And there are much more like her. Somethin in the water there.!
This is off the chart brilliant. Thanks for posting. 'Feels like a privilege to sit in and hear you guys perform. This is one of those videos when you don't want it to end. :)

Matt King and Ms Kelly are great, this group is awesome, the sound is superb.

Keyboard player is the hero of this tune for me. Taste, chops, and good time keep the tune alive. Love the switching between piano and organ.
Just GOTTA giggle and smile when that one is over! Wonderful stuff!
This is great. It just shows that even the best musicians have to work at it when it comes to playing together and shows in the result!
So sweet and warm....had me smiling...wonderful!!!
harleycharley I'm at work 3:40 a.m. on break listening to this and melting in my Chair this is just fabulous
Great job on bass, Chico Huff. That Sire bass sounds excellent
I love how each of the musicians listen and closely pay attention to each other and seamlessly adjust. Nicely done.
just heard Grace play an hour ago....stunningly beautiful voice, and of course soaring sax lines...just amazing.

The pianist!!! Oh man!
Outrageously good for relaxing and then sleeping
Matt King is a brilliant musician, great guy as well!
I wish I could play jazz piano. Not just classical and modern day.
This is one of my favourite songs. I remember the times i traveled around playing it. But all this also makes me so sad when watching what's going on in Georgia.

The fact that a human such as grace kelly exists is simply not fair. I literally want to be everything she is. What an absolute inspiration
It just doesn’t get any better than that. God given talent right there. The keys at 7.55 … tingly 😎
Outstanding performance from truly very talented musicians that make it look so easy. Thanks for adding a bit more magic to life. Lovin it!!
I played this back in high school, on bass. One of my favorite lines I've ever played.
Beautiful job on that song with the Alto Sax!!!!
Studio Jams is the best. Amazing renditions of Jazz classics. Wow!
Awesome jam session. All are very good and the girl has the feeling for that sax. Once the music gets in you then you get as good as these. Very nice
I can listen to this all day, I recently started playing Alto sax, in my old age 54 lol. I am going to get the sheet music and start learning this classic melody. all of you are such great muscisians wow. Vinny
