      I'm speculating but the Valorant code must be designed to be multi servers. League on the other hand still has a the old intricated monolith. I'm pretty sure it's impossible to match make people dynamically on servers.
      They may be able to do it in few years if they decide to clean the necessary legacy code.

    Geat to see sideshow on this show and I hope to see him again when the topics are OW/Val or even other general industry issues. Monte is a very good host as usual keeping everyone in check and participating with good questions and big picture ideas. I gotta say Richard has recently become very cool-headed while maintaining his based persona and thats actually fantastic, makes watching him a lot more entertaining and not stressing lol. Thorin is as incendiary as ever, which is usually fine, but it was a bit daft of him to speak like that to Monte and Sideshow when the whole show is about professionalism...

    Everything aside, I think that one thing being ignored is that if frost had only postponed for 15 minutes or less he'd be in the right. The fact that he dragged it on and the statements addressed are inappropriate so he messed up. And he's a prick. But these administrators literally made back to back decisions that fucked over 100t 2 weeks in a row. So they should be called out on their inconsistencies. I'm not even a 100t fan but I think it's bs that they got screwed by ping decisions twice in a row. I think riot should also be reprimanding and working on the inconsistencies along with the probation and fines. Because his complaints are fair. But his reactions are inappropriate

    I understand all the points Richard makes about Valorant but I do think this game has so much potential. I like how the game plays a lot.
    The way they've balanced the abilities and the pure aiming skill is really good imo. I like the graphic style and I like the overall approach to how they made the maps a lot even though I don't like all the maps.
    The thing I'm most excited about is that it could be as global as League and have international competitions in one game with a lot of talent from everywhere. Overwatch, Cs Go, COD, Halo have all had certain regions that heavily dominated the competition and some regions that were only marginally relevant or not present at all.
    I'm sure there will be a lot of challenges but looking at Korea already having a scene, EU and NA being into it I think it's worth the growing pains. If Riot caved to 100 T then I'd say we have a problem but they didn't. I feel like Richard and Thorin are so into CS that they don't even see ir aknowledge the potential upside of this game and only talk about how it's inferior to CS. Having a game where someone could not only prove that they're the best player in their game but the best shooter player in the world. Wouldn't that be hype? I think Valorant has a loymt of good aspects and I personally hope it succeeds as an esport.

    Doesnt Riot have the tech to make all players have X amount of ping? Like make the lowest posible ping be 30ms for example? I belive thats what the casters of LCK said back in 2020. Not sure about this though

    • @sleepyyam5391
      @sleepyyam5391 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      ping depends on proximity to servers, I don't know how acquiring/operating servers work but Riot's degree of control would be how many servers they have for a game (and I assume how close those servers are to stage match venues?)
      Don't know exactly what the casters had said, but Korea has a much less sparsely spread out population and much less land to cover with the reach of servers, and with esports being more established there maybe it's easier for Riot to acquire servers more conveniently located for the LCK? just guessing

    • @somebodyintheworld5036
      @somebodyintheworld5036 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sleepyyam5391 i think what they mean is force all players onto the same, artificially high, but standardized ping. Yes, ping is dependent on proximity to servers, but if they include an artificial delay with some kind of software solution, like using a VPN which makes unnecessary hops to increase your ping to a certain number, it may make a level playing field so that no one is at a disadvantage.

    • @larssalberg1011
      @larssalberg1011 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sleepyyam5391 The way it sounded was like they artificially added X amount of ms to a certain team like once a signal is registered a timer starts before the next step can occur on the servers side. That way a team with 10ms could experience 30ms like the opposition. Or I could have misheard something but I'm pretty sure I remember them saying that these matches were played on 30ms ping to preserve competitive integrity.

All of them have their strong and weak points but that ain't it. Rich is a bit hot headed and likes to throw down but honestly, live your life a bit and you'll meet people more aggro than that and for no reason at all unlike Richard.
      If I were to criticize someone from this video it would be Thorin for the talking bit, and Rich already did. Essentially the qualities you dislike from Rich is what makes him such a good investigative journalist and a defender of the weak, he won't let mischief pass. Shit, looking at the esports scene, he is the closest thing you can find to a (realistic) knight in shining armor

      Honestly back when i started watching CS in 2014, I hated him and Thorin, I didnt rly know them or what they did before and they were always just trash talking. Starting with the Ibuypower scandal i started to realize, how beneficial Richard is for the community. He has done so much good for the esports community not just CSGO but even other titles. I also realized that most the trash talk is just banter and its part of the show. thats what makes his videos enjoyable to watch, you never get bored doesnt matter how boring the topic may be.
      P.S. I like your name and profile picture, i have never seen a fellow once around here.

    Richard Lewis, you might not like being banned from platforms like facebook and twitter and that is ok.
    However, these platforms are not a public service. They don't owe you an account.
    They can pick and choose who can be a user on their platform and can create arbitrary rules.
    This is democracy mate and private platforms can do whatever they want.

      Yep, and they already do that. Social media was great in the first years, but now it's full of deranged mentally ill cunts, some of them created by this social media era, where nobodies think their feelings have to matter for people that you never met or will have any sort of personal engagement in your life. Look at what cancel culture has became ans how harmful it is to everyone

      Everyone gets the argument about private platforms. The discussion though is wether or not and at what point do these companies become so big that they hold a monopoly and free market cannot solve the issue with competition, as the monopolies have the resources to shut down any startup competition.
      At what point is Twitter more like a public square and not just a private comoany? At what point was Police made a public good and not just security for those who can afford it? Same with fire fighting, electric grid etc.
      These companies are nearing the GDP of smaller countries around the world. When do we tell them to sit at the big boy table and not beat up everyone around the kids table?

      @@Artesin ohh really? You need 5-6 programmers for 6 months and they can create a solid platform. Nothing is stopping you. As a private company, the big companies can't buy you out without you agreeing. There is absolutely no way of twitter stopping you from having your own platform.
