Stunning car. What annoys me is that it is not worth 370k otherwise Porsche would have sold it for that. The fact that they don't make enough of them thus allowing for over inflated prices for me only damages the brand.
Stunning car as is the 992 range, but they have all grown significantly in size over the years, depends what type of driving you do but they are getting to big for the B-road driving I do in Scotland.
I wonder why Porsche has adopted the Rolex business model. Speculators completely control the market for every trim at gts and above - at least in the USA. They could fix this - as corvette did - just by adding few thousand more units in annual production for these models.
I have to agree with you, Petrol Ped, this Sport Classic looks fabulous in this color & wheel combination. I love the interior but would probably spec a darker houndstooth so it won't show dirt or stains quite so easily. Lovely sounding car it is, too! Great video.
What a truly stonking car!! That colour & wheel combo is just 👌👌. The duck tail is just perfect 👌. I'm not sure it's quite worth £300 k +. So 2 people have basically bought them to "flip". How annoying! I hope Porsche UK are making notes of names & addresses! These are to be owned and loved. The rest of us can only dream...😩
I don't think they really are to take note. Their note is they have bought it and the dealers got their margin. Their note will be the next one for retail at +300k and the "good clients" that bought the 992 are getting another +100k margin on the next one.

I agree, it’s a stunning car. The interior reminds me of quite a few Singer 911s I’ve seen. I found your comments on the 7 speed gearbox very interesting as I wondered where it would be ‘sprung’ to. I think I would find it frustrating & probably just wish it was 6 speed, but I guess you’d get used to it. You’re a lucky chap!
Hi Ped Enjoyed every minute of this review, however I will say the Sport Classic is a prime example of Porsche engineering, but also the expertise of Porsche Marketing, no wonder they are one of the most profitable manufacturers on the planet. Do I like it, yes, would I choose that spec no. And if of course the price and availability renders it out of bounds. I think I could configure a 911 very close at a more affordable price, and it would have a PDK box. Having tried manual vs PDK before I bought my 991 I never regretted the choice of PDK. Horses for courses and personal preference. I am sure if I went back to another 911 I could get my ideal touring car first considerably less than these limited edition cars. OK my future residual value might not be guaranteed, but the pleasure would not be diminished.😉

Very good question. . Ordered a 1998 Carrera C2S vs the C4S in mid-1997 and never turned back. .. About that time in1997 we owned a MY96 Audi UrS6 Avant. .. The Uber RS2-esq ski wagon... Any neu 911 (993) 2wd or 4wd was never going to see a snow covered interstate, never.
Probably the most beautiful Porsche in production today bar those interior houndstooth inserts. Love the fact that it's a manual. Love the fact that it's a rear wheel drive. The detuning of the 3.8 from the Turbo S by well nigh100bhp is, however, unacceptable; completely so. Without the PDK gearbox and the 4WD gubbins, this car should be considerably lighter than the Turbo S. Would have made for an even better power-to-weight ratio than the mighty Turbo S. Of course, the 4WD Turbo S would still have had a better 0-100kph but that would be missing the point. The Sport Classic's 80-180kph (which is what's key on the road for me) would have been truly stupendous. And if one is paying so much more for the Sport Classic than the Turbo S, one should at the very least have bragging rights somewhere!😂 As it is, I believe the Turbo S is better value for money...and, in the absence of the new GT2, still the king of the hill...
Great review Ped, your grin remained constant throughout. A car that really needs driving with a 7 speed manual gearbox. It is a pity that the scant few of these cars produced will end up as an investment in private collections! The premium commanded at launch will only increase. I felt as though I was with you in the car absorbing the sonorous sounds from the mechanicals mixed with your own silky soundtrack😎
Very noice. I prefer the classic styling touches to carbon fibre everything. Manual change is a must, although I see your point about the 7 speed. I prefer without the wing for a road car.

That is one great looking & sounding 911 Sports Classic........ you're a very lucky boy to actually drive one! The only thing I'd get rid of are the roundels on the door.

What a car! Porsche are really doing a fond farewell to their older lines. It's the long kiss goodbye at the end of a romantic film. Seeing all the little heritage details hearkening back to Porches of yore come together so well is like listening to a symphony. Watching you drive the perfect 911 is a privilege. I suspect you have to regard the gearbox as a conventional 6-speed box with 7th as an “overdrive” gear for 130kph motorways and autobahns. Not sure I would keep the roundels. I think the GTS is probably best value pick of the litter at present.

I have never understood what the appeal of Porsche’s is, to me they just look like squashed Beetle’s and don’t look nice at all. I get that they are quick and may drive well, but I don’t think they are good looking cars at all. That ducktail wing and the interior of this particular example are just plain awful in my opinion. Not for me. I know Porsche fanboys will not like my comment, but that seems like a them problem.
Porsche heaven…..🎉 best colour combo in my opinion, although I’ve seen an emerald green on Black Fuchs style with black stripes 🥰 Without seeing the Sport Classic, I pursued and purchased my 996 tiptronic Turbo - partly due to what I thought was a striking look…… silver with the silver grey hide……. on black Fuchs style 5 spokes and polished rims…….. up the bonnet, over the roof, engine cover and spoiler, two carbon effect stripes (now I realise) aping the Sport Classic……… With that Mezger GT1 heritage grumbling in the boot, Mercedes swapping bomb proof cogs and way more pace than I would ever need…….. I’m close 🙂 Would I have a Sport Classic at North of £350k ? Yes, if that £350k was stopping me closing my vault door…….. but realistically, I’m more than satisfied with my analogue machine……. Great test…… and an enviable position to be in 🇬🇧🙂

Unfortunately they won’t do that due to their overall emission targets.
A couple of slim clouds and bird silhouettes would do wonders for that Sun on the side.
