BMW killed it with this car, its a lot better than the EQ Mercedes. At least from an outsiders perspective, it feels like BMW took their time with their EVs as opposed to Mercedes who rushed a whole lineup to market and it shows in the final products
I wonder if BMW's all electric powerplants will turn out to be more reliable long term than the twin-turbo V8's... twin-timebombs as my mechanic likes to call them. Pleasantly surprised though to see this come in at a less than 100k "as tested" price. Can't really complain about that.

I'd happily take the S Plaid over this and I was surprised the Model S is an inch shorter than this. Even more surprising at $90k and no cooled seats. That is ridiculous. My Model 3 Performance is quicker, faster and half the price. This is obviously more luxurious, but for me that isn't worth another $40+k especially if traveling and having to deal with the poor charging infrastructure here in the states.
Seeing the comments let me think that BMW is giving less equipment for more money, i mean why? Just because is electric?? In that case there is other vehicles that can be way better in every single way and not being electric, we knew that this 5 series electric will be crap, if you all want to stop this nonsense from the bran stop buying those models, you will see how they change it

They also give you a lot more for a whole lot less. Still expensive though.
Lol
To the individual that wrote the first comment on this list, please name five EV’s that get 500 miles of range. I don’t think you know anything about what you’re speaking of the lucid air is the only one that comes to mind and it’s well over $120,000.
You are under 5k away from one million subscribers... congratulations redline reviews....
It’s super nice but wish they would have just added a hybrid to the top trim M60. All electric with minimal range isn’t for everyone yet.
The 550e is coming.
Nice car. Giving it serious consideration
Drove one a few weeks back. It`s M5 performance for the price of a well equipped 540i.I was seriously thinking about getting one.
For over $90k, there is no ventilated seats standard, nor independent 4-zone climate controls?? Please tell me it has advanced auto-pilot, as well as remote parking?
BMW, not known for their reliable electronics and wiring which makes this car look like a future nightmare.
I`m on the list for the new M5 Wagon. Can`t imagine how fast that thing will be.
You guys complaining about price as if prices for EVERYTHING isn’t higher. The CyberTruck WAS cheaper few years ago now it’s over 100k and it’s finally being delivered after 4 years. Let’s be mindful you guys lol
Nice EV car Sofyan.
240 miles and no frunk...for 100k
Thanks you early adopters for funding my finished product in the 2-3 generation.
But you are getting screwed.
Not a single mention of the BMW driver aids, self park, level 2 cruise and auto reverse function. Odd
Serious question, do people actually prefer fake leather? Or is a carbon emissions thing? I remember when we had to pay extra for real leather not fake leather.
When are you doing a video on the BMW XM 4.4l V8
When does the X6 go electric?
BMW killed it with this car, its a lot better than the EQ Mercedes. At least from an outsiders perspective, it feels like BMW took their time with their EVs as opposed to Mercedes who rushed a whole lineup to market and it shows in the final products
I wonder if BMW's all electric powerplants will turn out to be more reliable long term than the twin-turbo V8's... twin-timebombs as my mechanic likes to call them. Pleasantly surprised though to see this come in at a less than 100k "as tested" price. Can't really complain about that.
Whenever a journalist says "a lot of EVs drive the same", I know that they have poor attention to detail and aren't a true driving enthusiast. EVs actually don't drive the same, you haven't learned to identify the differences.
They're calibrated differently but all Electric motors function the same
Dudes driven everything at this point
Are you kidding? Not a driving enthusiast? Been watching this dude for 5 plus years and he genuinely gets excited about great performance every time...and it's real too, he's not just mailing it in. Definitely a performance enthusiast who's driven just about everything in existence.
96K for 240 miles of range, but only when charged 100%. Seems like poor value for money. Not to mention the cheap Chinese looking cost cutting touchscreen controls.
Are you sure you are driving the electric version? Do electric vehicles require inspection stickers? 😂😂
30 mins on fast charging is still too slow, 300kW fast charging should be an option in something this expensive.
Does the sunroof open? Is there an option for it to open?
No he said it does not open. Not sure if it’s not possible in all countries
To the person that wrote comment number one I’ll wait why don’t you list one car under six figures that has the same performance same luxury same technology under six figures please name a car that has 500 miles of range. I’ll wait for your answer.
Porsche Taycan Turbo S is $250k and range is 222 miles
Can someone explain to me why do Germans downplay hp? What would be the reasons for doing that?
I thing it comes from the old days when German manufacturers were getting into HP wars with each other, so they think under advertising hp is a weird way around that
I don't think there's a reason. They're just more conservative in their numbers. Or more hones if you want to see it from that perspective.
Under promise and over deliver lol
You never reviewed a cls 450 or 53?
I wonder how much would it cost to replace the battery pack?
~30K
I'd happily take the S Plaid over this and I was surprised the Model S is an inch shorter than this. Even more surprising at $90k and no cooled seats. That is ridiculous. My Model 3 Performance is quicker, faster and half the price. This is obviously more luxurious, but for me that isn't worth another $40+k especially if traveling and having to deal with the poor charging infrastructure here in the states.
But the Tesla is so damned ugly.
At this point if I was looking for a 5 series, and could afford it, I’d get the i5.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 we are poooor...
VEGANZA lol
Money Pit?? I’m wondering 🤔
Good-looking car! But pricey! $$$
Save your $ and buy it used or lease it...
Model s looks way better than this new gen 5 series/i5
lol
Seeing the comments let me think that BMW is giving less equipment for more money, i mean why? Just because is electric?? In that case there is other vehicles that can be way better in every single way and not being electric, we knew that this 5 series electric will be crap, if you all want to stop this nonsense from the bran stop buying those models, you will see how they change it
Full tank at 240 😂
Get the Polestar2
No rear climate controls, ventilated seats, or soft-close doors on a $90k vehicle? No thanks!
very nice car 😍
