This was really fun. Just the whole vibe, hanging out with you in the waiting room between games. Felt like hanging with ur bud watching/ playing some SC
Fabulous games. CroSs's aggression was super fun to watch. Crazy how much damage those 2 ling did in game 3, and then DragOn made miraculous comeback after that back and forth game 4!
Well it was nice to see something we almost never see. Next, I'd like to see a P use Hallucinated Zealots to break Spider Mine fields vs Terran, after 20 years I still believe that's a viable strat that nobody's really explored.
if you're doing the "not a single unit lost" challenge of star craft(and of course the expansion), there are two things to note. carrier interceptors count as units. and the broodlings the queens spawn ALSO count as units......so dont use either the carriers or the broodlings(the parasite is super useful).
Queens are very underused considering the building is required for Hive tech. That being said, I'm not high on mass queens, even vs terran mech, despite the gas efficiency and value over time with energy mechanics. reason being the absurd amount of energy cost for broodling, fragility of unit, and intersection of unit speed and need to decelerate to a stop before casting spell offsetting the decent range of spell. The reason queens are useful is actually the parasite ability. Unlike broodling, its fine to sit a queen in a zone and I'm not sure the exact details of the spell mechanism, but parasite will still cast even while queen is chasing down a unit and unit is far beyond cast radius (hard to explain, but maybe like emp targeted on an arbiter, but actually hitting instead of whiffing?). More importantly, one non-upgraded queen, forces opponent to choose among the following every time parasite casted: -Do nothing. Depending on the unit, that results in them revealing partial army movement/composition/condition or partial, but current base vision. -Put unit in an isolated location. This provides a quasi kill of unit, while still using supply, and confirmation of low priority zone. -Directly kill unit/force it to attack into your defense and die. relatively free kill, with advanced notice -Terran Only: choosing to research restoration. Although, restoration costs same to research as produce a queen, and restore has slightly smaller mana cost compared to parasite, that medic mana use would then compete against healing, while queen mana has no conflicting use. Terran also has much tighter gas available compared to zerg, so it's small, but annoying. and even in this scenario, parasite still gives vision deep into enemy territory/showing where they haven't claimed until research complete.
Killing the pylon next to the Forge gives a much bigger window than focusing said forge. Not to mention the resulting supply block can't be ignored either.
Queen is good vs Terran mech because Tanks cost 150m100gas and sitting static, every tank is precious, only 2 factories has add on to rebuild. Usually not much anti air vs Zerg if there’s no muta. T’s slow advance gives queen time and room to harass. That’s why T don’t usually go mech, just bio. But Dragoon only cost 125m50g, and anti air himself, highly mobile. In order to reach high Templar or dragoon, queen will be killed on the way. P units are easily rebuild with 8 gateways. That’s why queen can’t trade with gateway units. Not enough time to gather energy. Let alone Dark Archon can feedback cost only 50 energy.
In late game it is hard to protect HTs from queens, so they make sense vs heavily defended protoss bases. You kill all HTs, then guardians murder everything else. Mutalisks cannot do the sniping because of archons and storms.
@@ObeliskM You don’t see guardians vs Protoss games. They can mass Corsair by default, guardian is just wasting resources unless you go pure air. Fastest map is ok, since you don’t worry too much about resources waste. Usually can mass 24+ guardians and just tank the air shots to kill everything on ground.
@@MarcoAshford nah, I have seen quite a few pros games, where guardians are massed late game, when there are only few precious bases remaining, heavily defended by HTs-reavers-archons-cannons, and there are no corsairs anymore (sure, protoss can build in response one corsair at time, but by the time they would get out and kill guardians, entire bases would cease to exist, so they are not actually a counter). Usually they die to the storms though, and this is why queens make sense.
Parasite is just wasting energy vs protoss. ensnare is best used on corsairs, and that game was not corsair heavy. It was a mistake to try to get queens that early, there's a reason nobody does that.
Looks like a feature of the map by the map designer. A way of micromanaging the width of a checkpoint with more precision than you can get from the tile-based mapping tools. It might also be to make sure an opponent can't wall you into your base from the outside at that choke. That's probably the more important part.
8:10 you can see a newbie mistake from the Zerg - leaving a 84/600 hp pylon that powers the forge, instead of finishing it, and stopping the upgrade long enough to destroy the forge next.
Hereby my FINEST REMARK!! DragOn with this spelling more not 0 there is like a quite so much offensive username to opponents maybe, like LowKO its like Low Knock Out a later being Starcraft 2 player.
In chess, grandmaster have opening theory where they will memorize so many openings and variations and lines from there, and it becomes a game of memorization instead of tactics... but every once in a while you get some wild deviation, and it makes for an insane game. We're not computers but humans, and it's refreshing to see humans deviate from computer-like plays to try something risky and untested. Queens, hidden hatches. Sometimes it gets punished, sometimes it works. Nice to see that StarCraft is still "played".
With LowKO there is one thing to note, He is dutch i think never the less associated to Netherland not Nederland Nether can be used in fantasy for Nether realm thus stealing from artwork. IT HAS 200 x 200 km's squared area a small target in the middle so Should Plasma Drill from some faction get inside there? People talk with ugly mouth and every other part of the planet is bad countries too. AND He in a startegic videogame named Himself Low KO and He made a response video ironising about me when i told that my type is on the list probably of genocide (somewhat curvy face etc.. smaller face too some i seen as soldiers). He openly ridiculed me.. stating like Oh Heinrich i am so moved.
I like Fighting Spirit. Don't get me wrong it's a dogshit map. It's completely worn out its welcome in tournament play, the assumptions of its design were off the mark when it was made and absolutely don't work today. But it's so familiar to me after a literal decade that I can't help but feel some affection for it. I don't mind it taking up a spot in the ladder pool.
Queens can be good in late game, especially combined with guardians, since guardians are afraid only of storms. But building them so early is probably a guaranteed loss.
*Artosis plays a zerg on the ladder* "This scumbag all-ins and gets lucky, it's so ridiculous" *Artosis casts an NA buddy who goes zergling all-in, 3 hatch hydra, hatchery in the main all-in* "Cross is the best zerg in the world outside of Korea"
imagine ensnaring a mineral line, like using stasis ward on a mineral line on SC2. Would it be effective? Would it be optimal? I don't know, but I would like to see XD
I like how Artosis is casting PvZ and still makes small comments about how unfortunate Terran is.
It's why we love him
It is an artosis-fest.
If only terran had every ability
@@TheRealSykx lol, 2 nuke base go *bye bye*.
@@MeteCanKarahasanfr. But u can’t pull that shit off against a good player, unless ur each on a few bases ur selfs
When the first Dragoon got hit with Broodling I couldn't saying out loud. Phoenix! No!
"Wow, that is so cool. I wonder why we don't see more Queens in ZvP?"
*3 minutes later*
"Oh."
The zoomed in Queen on the thumbnail looks like an Immortal lol

The "Special Night of Broodwar" art really adds something and sets the mood.
Tonight's games are really special. Only enthusiasts would play these, noy pros.
Fabulous games. CroSs's aggression was super fun to watch. Crazy how much damage those 2 ling did in game 3, and then DragOn made miraculous comeback after that back and forth game 4!
That forth game was insane!! I'm so happy. Incredible plays

Works at a low level up to C rank at most. After that, the game becomes too fast for bs.
Changing the cost of the plasma shield upgrade is the one thing I'd change about this game
Thanks for casting!!
I was really sad when SC was dying, before and around the time SC2 came out. It's really nice to see it making a come back.
49:43 The observer over the templar looked like some exotic unit I'd never seen before
Great games! Thanks for casting this series Arty.
queens vs protoss? you mean..
fenix getting bodied by the broodling spell? 🤭
when the hydras took a shot at those corsair with the zealots in hot pursuit made me LOL
1:05:45 best advice you've ever given us! I always get so freaking mad when stuff goes wrong!!!!!
Respect for having the camera follow a unit and go help the kid
Love this!! Needed this tonight❤❤
i remember playing with cross a couple years ago on FMP... an absolute stud
I am pretty sure Protoss can save his units from plague by stasising them.
really interesting plays by both players
Killing the pylon next to the Forge gives a much bigger window than focusing said forge. Not to mention the resulting supply block can't be ignored either.
7:45 - 8:30 was insane. Thhough I think hitting the pylon would have been the better bet, depowering the forge.
I like these streams because it reminds us that it's actually a StarCraft stream not a mario/shapiro erotica stream
My wife always laughs when arty talks about "offensive gas"
Not just queens... MASS queens! Cheesiest Zerg in a while, absolutely epic
cross reminds me of zelot. i like it
Artosis is the best caster.
Most anticlimactic Queen tech ever hahah
North America vs Europe tournament would be cool.
That fourth game was so great
Huh... deja-vu... have I seen this exact video already?

It's supposed to be against 150 gas templars

PvZ best matchup in the game
ARTYYYY !!!! ❤.love your videos

using queens for broodlings only is kinda dumb, parasite and ensnare actually makes the most sense vs toss army.

Where is the production bar? Is that replays only ?
RT bro, you look good!
And probes, Arty. Broodlings can't kill probes.
pretty sure dragons been playing since abouy 25 years ago right? or am i mistaking him for another dragon?
why are there Zerg cocoons on the cliff ramps?

well.. he did indeed get sandwiched :D

Ogre Zerg play at its finest
58:55 Aren't Lurkers Medium armor? They shouldn't take full damage from dragoons.
That's one thicc hydra
Is there a reason that reavers are nearly ubiquitous in pvt but is rarely seen in pvz?
1 Xiaoshuai
2 Sziky
3 Cross
The reason you dont use queens in ZVP is bcz of dark archons. One or two can crush all of them
Terran technically has most OP unit but it's controlled by Zerg. Infested Terran.
