Cush washer? Nah, I'll use a crush washer instead.
I think He’s referring to the dank Nooner purple Kush washer 👽
How about a video about the most important tools for a home garage?
Saving up for a motorcycle currently and finding all the content I can, good find here since im already getting into self maintenance on my daily car and setting up my project car
Under rated item to check is the air filter. I changed mine in February as I got the bike last year. There was leaves and sticks from squirrels above the filter. Now I check every so often. So far it's clean yet
Cleaning the chain every 500 miles... totally... I definitely do this
That part of the video gave me anxiety I was like 500 miles WHAT
@@shwiftyboi_2512 It's just general guideline and it really depends on your riding conditions hah. I do mine every 1000 miles because it's all nice and clean here, and I don't ride in the rain.
Someone asked me what he should do to learn how to fix motorcycles. I suggested a 15 year old DR650 and a harbor freight socket set.
Underated
I had a China bike run oil for about 10k miles.... the black void of a liquid that exited the drain was glittery in the sun. I have a honda now and change when the oil is amber in color. That china bike also taught me valve adjustments, tire/brake replacement, sprocket swap, bearing removal, engine rebuilds, and even some electrical. I'm sure I could've learned the same and then some with a Japanese design, but china makes great copies at realistic prices
YN knows he has a lot of beginner viewers. I appreciate you posting vids like these to help us get our feet wet.
They all need oil? And all oil needs to be changed? Sounds like oil would be a good business to get into.
That’s just what the oil tycoons want you to believe.
I think you Need some freedom 🇺🇸🦅🦅🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸🇺🇸💥💥💥 Rahhhh
Makin it out of the hood with this idea bro, keep it up! Just be careful on where you choose to pump oil, wouldn’t wanna start any wars haha! Might end up being a competitive market
@@glitchedgamerz1064 you mean "freedom" like... The freedom to change my oil in the street? Haha
@@Slumpy_Sloth "Movin' on up... To the East side!" 🎶
I’ve got a Vespa primavera and I like to keep it regularly cleaned and I’ll never forget when I lifted the storage bucket to check the engine area I found a biscuit sat on the carburator 😂 not sure how it got there and it was not there the day before, maybe it got flung up by the rear wheel from the road who knows
about Coolant: Just drive old air cooled Bikes from the 1970s (out of ur dads shed as a 17 year old)
Nissan Mechanic Here. I see at least 3 Altimas on "slicks" every week. Their drivers use the cordes as tread wear marks. Avoid them on the road at all costs.👀
Never replace until wires are showing slippery driving is too fun
About the oil changes...read your owner's manual. The way they did it in this video is how Triumph tells you NOT to do it.
Fill engine with oil until oil starts running out of the oil filter housing, THEN install the filter. You'll create an airlock if you put the filter on first.
Read your owner's manual.
Love the vids bro keep it up 🔥🔥
Good video with good info
The thing about oil is that there is always going to be oil in your system that you can't get out, so when you fill your system, you could over fill it and mix good oil with bad oil, everybody knows that's a no no. This is coming for a mechanic! Also, in school for becoming a diesel tech. when draining oil, run the bike until oil stops flowing out completely re-install plug and fill...👍 also doing that way you'll never have to change your oil again, it'll always be fresh 😁
Works great 😂👍
Great vedio especially this time of year
What tire guage did you use in the vedio and do you have them in your on line store
i usually change my back tyre when it starts what we call in the UK "tracking" , that is that it follows grooves in the road, which pushed our steering just a bit out of line, but enough to be annoying.
also makes the bike be difficult to push into turns and then drops in suddenly.
I'd say around 4k miles on a rear tyre, but change them both at the same time, unless you were a dispatch rider like me, then just buy any old crap to do 500 miles per day on
I appreciate this but crazy, the only maininance activitues that I try to tinker with don't even feature here, that is battery and air filter and sometimes soark plug checks.. currently my bike wont start and I think its something to do with the battery but thanks this was educational fun.
Thank you baba yams
2017 s1krr is my dream bike
converting for USD, my place does the oil-change, including oil, inspection and chain tension for about $80. I already did my change first thing I could and got an off-season discount so it came out to like $68 with taxes. The spec oil + filter cost just shy of $40, so I am quasi tempted to let them do it while keeping a paper-trail for when I sell.
$80 I would have spent on beer
For 80 usd you could get some high quality oil or some tools. Invest in yourself?
Changing the oil!? How bout just putting some more in when the sightglass is empty and the light turns on with the bs oil from the gas station? I'm ggooooood
Bro how are you Americans paying so much for maintenance i never ever serviced my 650 yet every service just costs like 5k or something thats like 71 dollars for oil change, ecu update , O ring change, Washing, and what not
im lucky that i choose Tenere 700 ...
Very low maintenance ! Cheers from Greece !!!
I'm not changing my back brakes myself. I have a 99 honda shadow with a brake drum and a drive shaft. I ain't touching that. Pain in the rear on cars. I can't imagine on the bike.
I bought too big of bike for my first bike. Now I'm looking for a smaller one I found a cheap 1986 Yamaha radian yx600 is this a good bike for beginners
Dawn power wash is a great chain cleaner, and cleans anything with grease rather well. And if it's safe enough for a baby duck, it should be OK for your motorcycle.
I bought an old 1982 XJ550… the previous owner stripped the oil drain plug. I have not yet been able to change the oil as the bokt is also very stuck.
Drill the plug, replace it with a new plug.
Yammie ive been paying you 5 bucks a month for 2 years can i win a bike soon 😂😢
Lmaoo
Honestly bro if thats the case u should have just saved up and u woulda had enough for a bike soon enough
What bike is he gonna buy with $120
A great short would be how you reset the service reminder?
Disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes
Do you have to be a member to buy a helmet I couldn’t for some reason! I’m considering being a bronze member I can’t afford much but I love your videos and how you run your business!
2:58 A touch of used oil, by the looks of it.
How often do i change the coolant on my himalayan? 😂
Well, my motorcycle is a little simpler. It does not have any coolant in his air cold and there is no oil filter, but there is some tropical oil spinner that needs to be cleaned every 8000 miles.
Two friends of mine take their bikes (used bikes, pre-ABS era) to the dealer 40 minutes away to get their chain tension adjusted. One's a car mechanic and the other just chickens out.
I don't get it.
Crush washer is what I bought. Lol
1/32 of inch is 80mm guys
@Yammy Noob can do a service video of your Sled Pleeeeeeeeease? I don’t feel like paying $300 for an oil change on my 22 sled
For that price you could get gallons of high quality oil and some decent tools
1/37 is about 1mm right
@yammie noob
i cant believe you put chain lube from the outside on the chain! it is basics , put the lube from the inside, otherwise centrifugal force will put the lube everywhere but not on your chain
is this a "forum dad"?
Centrifugal force doesn’t exist. It’s a misnomer. What you mean is centripetal force.
DON'T OVERTIGHTEN THE OIL FILTER!
No. Don' doo eet.
Yep Grom is in the shop getting a helicoil inserted because I stripped the drain plug…
A lot off insurance state maintanace must be done by a tec or its invalid
Honestly idk why people even ride if you're not doing your own maintenance. I was just talking to a dude said his bike is in the shop for A WEEK just to get new tires mounted LOL.
Would you say it's hard to learn? Or can anyone do it without having to take courses or something?
@@drummer811000 It's really not that difficult unless you're doing actual engine / transmission work. I wouldn't adjust my own valves, as an example, personally. I've done everything from PAIR valve delete, swapping tires (I have them mounted and balanced at CycleGear), installing full exhausts, etc. just using TH-cam as a resource. No issues so far. You definitely need some tools, specifically two or three torque wrenches (one smaller one for inch lbs, a middleground one up to 75ft lbs, and a big boy for axel nuts, etc. up to 120+ ft lbs or so) The thing about torque wrenches is they have an accuracy range of the middle 60% or something like that, so you'll want a variety for specific torque values. Torque values you can find on bike-specific forums, or you can buy a service manual.
@@drummer811000 you'll need rear and front wheel stands, need to lift the bike for anything tire related. Oil changes are better to do with the bike vertical on stands or in a wheel chock as well. Will also need a solid set of deep sockets. It's definitely an investment to do your own maintenance, for me it was less about the money and more about wasted time bringing my bike somewhere to get basic maintenance done.
Depends on the person. If I take it apart, I can put it back together. Are you handy, own tools and have common sense? If you you can do most maintenance by yourself
I think my first reply disappeared for some reason, but I mentioned needing at least two torque wrenches to cover all possible fastener torque values. Torque values can be found on bike-specific forums or you can buy a service manual for your bike.
Cush washer
mate i have 50 year old tires im fine
🎉
CUSH washer?? I assume you mean crush washer. What did you do to the real Yammie.
I'm super surprised no one has ever corrected u on that one. How many more things XD
15,000 a year little brother. At least two oil changes a season
Coolent? I got an air cooled engine 😎
Anyone using white lithium grease on thier chain???
Engine oil, used oil has more uses than being recycled
@@yurionabike2184 with engine oil as a chain lube, how often would you clean and relube the chain?

Literally anybody can rebuild a carburetor.
Who cares about carburetors anyway? When you have to you look into it and do it. Its no rocket science
