    Hi Ben, May i ask if it is normal that continuous flow hot water system takes 30 sec or a minute or so to have luke warm hot water out? and take another approximately 5 minutes to have very hot water? Thanks Vic

    • @BeautifulPlumbing
      @BeautifulPlumbing  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Wai Wai, that doesn't sound right. It should take 30 sec, depending how far the hot water system is from the outlet, but shouldn't take 5 mins to the desired temperature. Sometimes there is heat loss if the hot water system is a fair distance from the outlet. Regards, Ben

      I've been facing this recently, but only on our kitchen mixer. I've just done some troubleshooting today and it seems that other mixer taps in the house work fine and will trigger the pilot light. The kitchen mixer doesn't appear to trigger the pilot light on our instant gas system and I suspect its due to lack of water flow (the new mixer that was replaced has much thinner braided hoses so I suspect this might be the cause). I'm going to try remove the pressure reducers in the hoses to try fix this, otherwise i'll have to replace the mixer hoses for larger diameter ones.

      I have a tiny house but it takes ages for the hot water to get going. It is then cool enough for me to hold my hand under - not hot enough for washing up and barely hot enough for showers. It's brand new, so very very disappointing.

      @@lindagray1809 try turning cold inlet down to boiler this will make the water run slower through unit which will then come out boiling hot,

    You’re a life saver! For years my hot water has been piss-weak and all this time I thought it was just a crappy system. We’ve just put up with it. Turns out the filter was ridiculously clogged. Gave it a clean and now it’s like we’ve got a new hot water system 😄😁
    Thank you 🙏

    awesome video, cleaning this filter fixed my sporadic hot water temperature fluctuations. I initially thought my temp control valve is not functioning properly but turns out to be the inlet filter is clogged with scaling causing the burner to cut out sporadically due to not enough water coming in.

    Hi Ben
    Thanks for the great video.
    Our hot water has been going cold during hot showers - starts out hot and then goes cold after varying amounts of time. Sometimes turning the mixer off and then on again restores the hot water, but the length of time we get hot water varies. Yesterday, the hot water didn't drop out. But the day before, it did. So it's very unpredictable. Is this filter cleaning method something that might help resolve this? Thanks a lot 👍

    Hi Ben,
    we recently had a brand new continuous flow gas hot water system installed in the communal laundry of our units, but the "hot" water that comes through is just warm. I can hold my hand under it and run it continuously, and it's not even as hot as I would wash dishes in.
    I've considered opening it up to have a look inside to see if there is some form of restriction on it, or if it's just a dodgy model (it _looks_ brand new). Considering how hard I had to fight just to get the broken hot water system replaced, I'm hesitant to bother our ineffectual property manager or our cheapskate land lord about it. Sometimes you just have to take matters into your own hands, after all.
    What would you suggest?

    Nice one. I'm about to go to a B16 Rinnai from a crappy Dux LPG ProFlo (awful). I haven't seen a lot of good reviews on the Rinnai B26.. is it good and does the job? Dux have been trying to give me discounts to go with them but works out the same. Seems a no-brainer as every plumber or hot water installer tells me to avoid Dux at all cost and stick to Rinnai. This clip is very helpful for when I eventually install continuous flow.

      Thanks, good to know. The LPG Bottles are 8 metres away and with all the twists/turns in the roof (and being a colorbond roof) makes it a lot more difficult to run a continuous flow because I need the bigger pipes installed. I'm now looking at the Hydrotherm Heat Pump (electric) and will modify to just run the stove off smaller bottles (like a BBQ). The energy efficiency (and no gas wastage) should pay for itself within 3 years. A shame as I was actually going to go for the Rinnai B20.

    I can't get constant hot water from Reheem24 and I am wondering how much it costs for replacing the part, Water volume control motor of Reheem24 hot water unit.

      Hi Jayne. We had a black out once and I just ran it off a 12v inverter in my Hilux with an extension cord. It worked for me. They don't use much power.

    hi , we have a rinnai 26 , the water from the kitchen tap is hot but the bathrooms is lukewarm now would that because of the filter needing to be cleaned ? thanks di

    • @BeautifulPlumbing
      @BeautifulPlumbing  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Diane, yes it could be the filter, so you can try cleaning it first and see if it works. If not, it could be heat loss caused by a long run to the bathroom or a faulty temp valve if they are installed. Hope that is helpful.

    Hi. I got chromagen solar hot water system. There is no green light on Controller. Some time it's turn on but still no hot water. Pump works when green light on but seems gas hot water system does not turn on. Could you please advise what could be a problem. Thx

      Hi Abdul, I don't think it is a plumbing problem, it could an electrical fault. Maybe try to call your local electrician? Hope that helps!

    Filter clean no gung in it, water runs hot for 3 to 4 minutes the run cold for 5 to 8 seconds then bact to hot what would cause the problem?

      I've found if you have an outlet with a water saver (reducer) unit in the tap. It causes the instantaneous hot water to cut in and out. Hence going hot then cold

    Hi mate, I have the Rinnai infinity 26. I just tried what you suggested and still no fix.The hot water service has a second filter which requires long nosed pliers to get out (I've seen it done by a plumber a few years ago) but I cannot seem to remember where it is... Are you able to advise? thanks! Monika

    • @BeautifulPlumbing
      @BeautifulPlumbing  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Monika, it is best to contact your local plumber to get this sorted. You may have a temp valve installed and they do have filters also. Regards, Ben

    You still reply to this video, wow. I have a problem with my rinnai 26 (REU-V2626W) as long as 1 faucet or shower turn on, then it is ok, as soon as second one turn on, the first one got cut off, like no hot water at all let alone warmy one. Not a pleasant experience especially when im showering) do you regconise the problem? I turn the water inlet to near max already

      @BeautifulPlumbing  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Hunter, thanks for your comment. Sorry for the late reply! It sounds to me like you might have flow restrictors in your shower rose and also in the outlet filters of your basin or kitchen tap. Try removing them and it should sort out the problem. Regards, Beautiful Plumbing
